Default In-N-Out Burger

This burger place opened here in Dallas last wednesday. The first customer in line camped out in front for TWO (2) DAYS. He got a double-double.

Then there is the nut case in the video.

I'll have to check them out real soon as I love a good burger.

The guys out West know this business - Are they really that good ???

2 mile long Line !

Fred,

I have ate in their places several times and they do make good burgers but not good enough that I would camp out over night to be first in line. However give them a try and see how you like it. And as with all places that serve food, it will depend on the cooks as to just how good it is.

Ron

They are the best fast-food burger. Their key to success is

Simple menu - 2 hamburger choices, fries, drinks, and shake. That's it. Just like an old hamburger joint.
No advertising - no need to advertise as a quality product doesn't need to. That money is used to pay better salaries and use better quality products for the burgers.

I like the presentation. It is one of the few fast-food burgers that when presented to you, actually looks like it does in the picture. You don't need to peel back the bun to see what's inside. It's all right there staring at you.

In and Out, for the money, is really good. You can tell that they certainly hold their employees to a higher standard, but I understand that they pay them for it. They've been in AZ a few years now and are doing great business. They are family owned and have done business in CA for a long time. The Double-Double, "Animal Style" (grilled onions) is the best, to me. Also ask for their fries, "Animal Style" for something different. Messy to eat, but tasty. These are not on the menu but are for those "in the know".

They are an old-school burger joint. Look at some of the 50's art work inside with a bunch of choppers and you will also see a t-shirt you can buy that has a cobra in the parking lot.

I actually have that T-shirt.

No stamped hamburger patties. No microwaves, just burgers. Pretty good to say the least.

Damn good, but my favorite lunchtime fast food is a bowl of miso soup and some salmon and yellowtale sashimi.

We don't have any fast-sashimi joints here. Must be a Fresno thing.

Actually you do...nice little place just to the east of the northside of the Healdsburg square. I can go in and be done in about 15 minutes ordering the miso and sashimi.

Course...you can linger if you have time...I normally don't at theat time of day.

But...back to burgers...In and Out is good stuff, but camping out? We had folks do that a few years ago for the new Krispie Kreme.

If you want the BEST (IMO) fast food burger, find a Five Guys. Extra juicy, extra tasty, extra greasy. About twice the price of In and Out and fortunately not nearly as close to me so I don't indulge in Five Guys but about twice a year. I'm sure my arteries appreciate that.

Actually the best burgers that I ever ate were made at a little place here called Igo. They made their own buns and everything and the burgers were two thick hand made patties nice and juicy. They were so big that they filled a plate and the big order off fries or french fried onions came in a different plate. Drinks were free. I used to drive over there just to eat and by the time I got one of those burgers down I was full for the day. Unfortunately they went out of business when everything crashed. And the price for that was $5.95. Also every once in a while the woman that owned the store would just give me and my friend the meals for helping her out a time or two.

We grew up with Krispy Kreme here in NC where they started. Trouble with them is you gotta eat 'em while they're fresh. They're never the same after they get a few hours old, and who needs to eat a dozen donuts at once? They'll kill you faster than a speeding bullet. Better to eat a plate full of In-N-Out burgers. ...or sashimi.

You nailed it....they gots to be right off the rollers, although I'll never understand glazing a donut and then putting chocolate on top of it. Just too damn much.

I miss having a Winchells on every corner...good simple donuts. Used to be some damn good backgammon (tavli) games on Saturday mornings by the old Armenian guys. They all closed.

Actually, so did the one Krispy Kreme that opened here...about three years after it opened (great location too). The In and Out that opened at the same time right next door is still going strong.

One just opened here...I'll have to try it.

Best I've ever eaten...the Whip Drip. POS little local place about 3 blocks from our high school. Everyone ate there. Old-style plastic basket with wax paper. Thick burger, fresh veggies, pickles, good cheddar, etc. Perfectly greasy and, well...dripping. Perfect for soaking the thick cut fries with the skin still on them.

Had a chain down in Riverside during college called Naugles. The Ortega Burger was a meal for the gods.
