Any International soccer fans here?
I just realized that I have never asked around CC if there are any soccer fans among us.
I am a rabid fan of International soccer; I follow La Liga, the Spanish first division.
My team is Real Madrid, who unfortunately missed taking First Place this season, being inched out by long-time rival Barcelona. Consolation in the fact that Real Madrid beat Barca in the Copa del Rey competition and won the King's Cup for the Best Pro team in Spain.
Any other soccer fans around?

Hey Ron, I enjoy soccer, but I'm just not an avid follower. Most of my friends down here though, are absolutely fanatic and will go catatonic in front of the TV when a big match is on. No calls, no visitors (excepting other people afflicted with the same condition) and they only speak in emotional outbursts of celebrating or bitter complaining for the duration of the match. Other forms of communication are limited to hand signals to request food, beer or that you be quiet and leave them alone. Funny as hell actually.

Me! Me!
I am English and have lived in the US for over 20 years. The Fox Soccer Channel is the reason my yard is a mess and the Cobra is currently parked up waiting for the end of the English Premier League, the FA Cup and the ECL. At the end of May, I will turn off the TV, rub my eyes and stumble out into the Connecticut sunshine wondering where the last six months of my life went.

Hooray...that's 'one'...
Besides FSC, I have to pay extra to get ESPN Deportes and GolTV, in order to see La Liga games.
Champions League was exciting until we lost the semi-final tie. Now I will watch on 5/28, hoping Man U beats the crap out of Barca.
Potters in the Cup final? ...who'da thunk, eh?

yeah I am TIVo ing the FA cup final and will watch it tonight so no spoilers please!
My team is Charlton, as I am a South London lad, currently languishing in the lower regions of the old division 3. Our decline was meteoric; from Premier League the league one or whatever they call it these days in two seasons . Must be some kind of underachievement record.
Those Real Madrid/Barca games were less than clasico. Barcas "professional" approach (ie cheating, diving) was a shame to watch from a team so talented. Still its nice to see Ronaldo getting so agitated at being played at his own game. Morinho should have played Kaka and Higuian (sp?) in the first leg. He lost the mind game, I think.

Jose was smart for one game; the defensive posture worked. But he should have realized Pep is no dope and that it wouldn't continue to work.
I agree that he outsmarted himself and lost the remaining matches. The Barca theatrics were disgraceful.
...and, of course, the refs are out to get RM.
Enjoy the delayed game.

well the FA Cup final was no classic either, but I think that, on balance, the better team won.
Next up, the Champions League final. Any predictions?
