Default Video news: Cycling in NYC bike lanes

I found this pretty funny and thought I'd share it...

NYC cyclist demonstrates dangers of bike lanes
By Andrew MacDonald | Daily Buzz – Fri, 10 Jun, 2011

Tension between motorists and cyclists is nothing new in major cities across North America.

Ask a motorist if they appreciate how cyclists ease traffic congestion by riding two wheels instead of four and they'll probably complain about slow-moving peddlers clogging the streets. And drivers who are argue how dedicated bike lanes on city streets should keep bikers quiet will hear complaints from cyclists constantly blocked by delivery trucks and double-parkers.

But in May, New York City cyclist and filmmaker Casey Neistat was pushed too far when he received a $50 ticket for biking outside of a Manhattan bike lane. After summoning the tolerance for pain of a Hollywood stuntman, Neistat hit the streets of Manhattan to demonstrate all the risks involved with riding only in bike lanes. The resulting video is as hilarious as it is poignant.

Default Three Way Traffic in NYC

Bikes seem to be the biggest offenders. URL below:

I always enjoy watching Darwinism amongst bicyclists.

Worst thing ever created.
They are really a great thing for the bicycle challenged Mountain Bike rider with huge puncture proof tires who's goal is to get 6 blocks down to the coffee shop & back.
The are the worst thing ever for the cyclist with competent handling skills & a decent set of tires. Cars blow all road debris to the gutters(bicycle lanes). For those of you who aren't aware, a crappy bicycle tire cost $50. A decent tire starts at $80 & like car tires...Sky is the limit....they are very prone to destruction. Cyclists like drivers of all autos/trucks on the road range from competent & polite to completely incompetent a$$holes. Which leads me to my last point...
Bike lanes take up valuable road space, which in many instances aren't being used by cyclists 80% of the time anyway.
So why not leave bike paths to paths to parks & beaches for the recreational cyclists & let the rest of us act like civil humans. Just another place for our govt. to spend money where it's not needed.
