Joe Paterno ?
Are any of you pissed off as I am ?
I'm a Husker,...and we'll be playing Penn State this weekend. I hope Joe, his staff and the team will remain strong under the circumstance, and will play as hard as they ever have. My heart goes out to all of them. I completely disagree with his situation. He is a famous coach, and not in charge of anything outside of his football program. He heard the allegation 2nd hand, he saw nothing himself. When her heard the allegation, he called his first and second line superior and informed them face to face in a meeting. Sense he saw nothing himself, and reported what he heard to his bosses, what else was he expected to do, follow up with his superiors to make sure they did the right thing? Good luck with that. I haven't heard anything,... if any of the University's faculty or Dean, is being blamed or will get fired or pushed into retirement ? If not,...what the hell !!! Joe said he will retire at the end of the season. Are any of them backing Joe, hell no,....they want to keep their mouths shut and keep their jobs ! Remember, these people were his bosses ! |
Sorry, I meant to write this in the lounge forum.
|
Seems like a huge misdirection.
|
Not pissed that he is getting canned, Im pissed at him and all the other idiots who didnt think it was worth reporting to the police. Sorry but if one of my employees comes to me and says he saw an old man rapeing a 10 year old boy I can safely say I would call the police.

Joe may have done what he legally should do but he failed horribly morally. I can't see how any parent could trust Paterno with their son when he let this continue and not pick up the phone and call 911. |
When the safety of children is placed below the success of collegiate sports
programs, something needs to change. |
I agree with protecting our children, that's NOT in question. My niece was touched, to say the least, by a scout leader on a camping quest, so I know how these parents feel. As I see it, Joe was correct in notifying his piers as to what had happened and allowing them to handle the situation with the authorities.

I watch the report on CNN, and found out like you said, he was a witness. Big mistake Joe, you may have stopped several other children from being molested.
|
It seems that no one wants to get directly involved any more unless it affects them or one of their family. As stated above, he was the eye witness and his peers reporting it would be just hear say. You know, the So and So told me this routine and any lawyer wold jump right on that.
Ron :( |
I really try hard not to watch the news but this situation really got me. JoePa should definitely be concerned about what goes on in his locker room.
He obviously didn't think the witness was hallucinating the witness wasn't a casual bystander it was someone that worked directly with them and continue to afterwards. it's just so amazing to me how the students can't even see through this selfish JoePa icon that they have . one kid's childhood is worth many times more in my opinion than a million football victories. And I personally believe that JoePa helped push this under the rug causing more unimaginable sufferings. I hope they ripp his bronze statue down like Saddam's |
Analogy from "A Few Good Men"
Colonel Jessep said he ordered the Code Red.

An older woman chasing a younger man is called a cougar...
Does that mean an older man chasing a young boy is called a Nittany Lion? |

and I would've stopped the ongoing rape right then & there, which wasn't done either. What does it take to for someone to step up and protect a 10 year old child being raped ? Paterno has exposed himself as a holier-than-thou hypocrite. He was always quick to criticize & lecture coaches that didn't meet his standards (like my alma maters Barry Switzer), while all the while he's part of a cover up of the sexual abuse of children at Penn State. He did pass on the information he received, but never questioned the rapist when they met the following day, nor did he EVER subsequently ask the athletic director what had happened with the information he had passed along. Paterno, a pathetic self serving man. Z. |
how to get more smiles and thumbs up driving my COBRA than I already do, would be to have JoePa,s 85-year-old a$$ being dragged behind me on a 20 foot chain for about 30 miles would do:mad:
|
This type of thing goes on all the time, especially in big organizations and where money is involved. I'm sorry, the Good Old Boys really messed up, the police should have been called first! The hell with Joe, his sick friends and the school...protect the kids.
Too many sick bastards these days, stop letting them do there thing. I'd just shoot them. |
For those on this thread that says JP "WAS" the witness, please read this.
Why Penn State Officials Didn't Call the Police | Yahoo! Bad situation for sure and he could have done more. |
Why was Sandusky still allowed on campus after resigning (forced?) in 1999? Read the GJ minutes and see if you still disagree with his leaving.

Jo Pa is a sick old man, so is anyone who knew about this a did'nt themeselves go straight to the cops, hell is waiting for people like this.

It's sad that there even has to be law, you would think people would be eager to report such evil doings. Z. |
