Lets see here, 40 post per page times 9 pages equals 360, an additional 6 for this page counting mine is a total of 366 posts.
I wasnt aware there was a topic either.

If I were to post somthing here that was very soothing, would that be a "topical" ointment?
Lord, that's a stretch even for ME.
Speaking of topical ointments, how about something for my back?
It was dry today and just warm enough that I washed, waxed, armoralled, Windexed, Rain-exed, shampooed, scrubbed, and alloy-wheel-polished Sweetness's Mustang. A ragtop and a bra drinks Armorall faster than Gunrack's double-pumper sucks gas. The upper-body workout was OK.
I was fine until I had to hand-buff the rims.
Now the lower back... hurts.
I'm too old for this.
Meanwhile, Gunrack sits in the garage covered with road-grime spatters, inside and out, a disgrace to the entire Cobra community.
Sweetness drives a 'way cool car for a starving college student. She graduates in May then the little Mustang is MINE.

To celebrate the 25th "whatever" of this thread, I'd like to offer a toast to all of those others who understand truly bizarre senses of humor and enjoy a little laugh.

I have a cold, and I don't feel good.
Must have been from driving Pepe to "Ernie Bell's Hot Rodz Cafe" on Tuesday, (in the damp coolness), or driving #1 little cobra girl to school in the cccooolllddd on Wednesday!! BRRR.
I'm gonna go to bed! Yeah, it's only 8:50.....
hubby is gone. (Indian Princess campout with #1 girl - yeah, I bet they're having fun in the cccoollllldddd!)
boys #1 & 2 are out of town....
It's just little cobra girl #2 and me, to snuggle down with a chick flick, popcorn, and our little chihuahua puppy for the night. Mary Kate and Ashley, from 1995!! snore, snore, snore.....
I'm cold, too! snuggle, snuggle...
Kristen
glad we can all just air our thoughts here, right??? Pepe is going now. Forward and backward. hmmm. Wonder what's up??
ok. Back to nothing, nothing, nothing....

A guy at church the other night was giving announcements about the sick.....
His actual annoucement was....
"Let's pray for so and so.....she's having trouble falling down"
So my first reaction was, "What....she's getting old now....she can't fall down like she used to?"
And at the moment I thought that, he realized what he had said, and tried to correct himself....
"I mean she's falling down more than she wants to..."
Which didn't make it any better.....so I turn to my fiance and say, "What....she was trying to cut down to 5 times a day, but she just can't get past 6?"

I know when blykins get sucked into a thread like this, it will go on for at least another three to four pages. Good to hear from you, why haven't you married her... YET!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We were thinking a late spring wedding where several cobras could venture to the festive occation and par-take. LOL
Earl, I like the earlier ROCK. I gave up on the cheese and now I can whine with UT. But, no hot tub. Sigh
Sunday and there is so much to do. +++++
Kristen, at least you can drive. It was 22 last night!
I think I am going to design a new cross-over for my radio. Then I can get ROCK and roll.
I agree, this is as close as we will ever get to a "Chat room" LOL
CHeers!!!

What this country needs is more family trees that will produce more lumber and fewer nuts.
One way to reduce motor accidents is to build cars so they can't go any faster than the average person thinks.

Blast From the Past
Thinking about "fender skirts" started me thinking about other words that quietly disappear from our language with hardly a notice.
Like "curb feelers" and "steering knobs". Since I'd been thinking of cars, my mind naturally went that direction first. Any kids will probably have to find some elderly person over 50 to explain some of these terms to you.
Remember "Continental kits?" They were rear bumper extenders and spare tire covers that were supposed to make any car as cool as a Lincoln Continental.
When did we quit calling them "emergency brakes?" At some point "parking brake" became the proper term. But I miss the hint of drama that went with "emergency brake."
I'm sad, too, that almost all the old folks are gone who would call the accelerator the "foot feed."
Didn't you ever wait at the street for your daddy to come home, so you could ride the "running board" up to the house?
Here's a phrase I heard all the time in my youth but never anymore - "store-bought." Of course, just about everything is store-bought these days. But once it was bragging material to have a store-bought dress or a store-bought bag of candy.
"Coast to coast" is a phrase that once held all sorts of excitement and now means almost nothing. Now we take the term "worldwide" for granted. This floors me.
On a smaller scale, "wall-to-wall" was once a magical term in our homes. In the '50s, everyone covered their hardwood floors with, wow, wall-to-wall carpeting! Today, everyone replaces their wall- to-wall carpeting with hardwood floors. Go figure.
When's the last time you heard the quaint phrase "in a family way?" It's hard to imagine that the word "pregnant" was once considered a little too graphic, a little too clinical for use in polite company. So we had all that talk about stork visits and "being in a family way" or simply "expecting".
Apparently "brassiere" is a word no longer in usage. I said it the other day and my daughter cracked up. I guess it's just "bra" now. "Unmentionables" probably wouldn't be understood at all.
It's hard to recall that this word was once said in a whisper -"divorce." And no one is called a "divorcee " anymore. Certainly not a "gay divorcee." Come to think of it, "confirmed bachelors " and "career girls" are long gone, too.
I always loved going to the "picture show," but I considered "movie" an affectation.
Most of these words go back to the '50s, but here's a pure-'60s word I came across the other day - "rat fink." Ooh, what a nasty put-down!
Here's a word I miss - "percolator." That was just a fun word to say. And what was it replaced with? "Coffeemaker." How dull. Mr. Coffee, I blame you for this.
I miss those made-up marketing words that were meant to sound so modern and now sound so retro. Words like "DynaFlow" and "ElectraLuxe." Introducing the 1963 Admiral TV, now with "SpectraVision!"
Food for thought - Was there a telethon that wiped out lumbago? Nobody complains of that anymore. Maybe that's what castor oil cured, because I never hear mothers threatening their kids with castor oil anymore.
Some words aren't gone, but are definitely on the endangered list. The one that grieves me most - "supper." Now everybody says "dinner." Save a great word. Invite someone to supper. Discuss fender skirts.
Someone forwarded this to me, and I thought some of us of a "certain age" would remember most of these.
Okay, that's it for me today...............I promise...X

Fresh from her shower, a woman stands in front of the mirror, complaining to her husband that her breasts are too small. Instead of characteristically telling her it is not so, her husband uncharacteristically comes up with a suggestion. "If you want your breasts to grow, then every day take a piece of toilet paper and rub it between your breasts for a few seconds". Willing to try anything, the wife fetches a piece of toilet paper and stands in front of the mirror, rubbing it between her breasts. "How long will this take?" she asks. "They will grow larger over a period of years," he replies. The wife stops. "Do your really think rubbing a piece of toilet paper between my breast every day will make my breasts larger over the years?" Without missing a beat, the husband says, "Worked on your a**, didn't it?"

X....had my fingers crossed.....
The National Institute on Alcohol Abuse spent a million dollars in the 70s to discover if drunk fish are more aggressive than sober fish. Turns out they are, which is why you never want to go fishing after the fish have been drinking heavily
Now I'm done........X

In light of your comments Earl, I no longer hear the "prego" for some one expecting a child.
It may be a spagettii thing.

Hey Trularin....
I'm working on it buddy....July 22, 2005 is the date. It's on a Friday night....and I'm all for a Cobra escort to escort Katie and me to our honeymoon suite.
Progress is slowly moving on the Cobra as well. It's in a garage at my parents' farm 2.5 hours from here....so I just get to work on it about 6-8 hours per week.
I did get to take a maiden voyage a couple of weekends ago.....albeit with no windshield, lights, carpet, etc....but it was a fun ride....and I got to see what 500 lb-ft would do to some old 17" Mustang wheels and 245 45-17 tires....hehehe.....
I wish I had my own webpage so you guys could share in my joy....it was truly a kick in the pants experience in more ways than one....I got some good video out of it. Maybe I could talk Mr. Mills into loaning me about 25MB of space and a link for a day so I can share.....how about it Brent?
