Mike,

Nice to see that you are still around. I just came inside as it is really starting to get to hot and humid for me. I walked up and looked at the upper lot and I have to mow it tomorrow or the city is going to stop and complain. What a mess it is.

Jon,

If I could get them to fly over and cover that upper lot with NAPALM, I would certainly do it. They are now almost knee high and stick like all get out. I have to get them mowed today even if it means the rest of the week in bed. I saw a city pick up slow down and look at them yesterday, so I have to get them down. Maybe I should call the city and see if they would come cut them for me. Ha !!!!

Geez,

What have I started. Last time I post a description of my vacation. Man, am I glad now that I never posted the pictures.

Mike,

I think CG is vacationing in Colorado right now. I believe that is where she went. Had to get away from the heat and all.

I thought of something ( did you guys feel the Earth move?)

Around here we have several places where the migrant workers "Hook out" Meaning they meet at a local corner and wiat for soemone to pick them up to day work. In most Cities the City has even built rest stops for them with bathrooms and water fountains. Some are really nice areas.

Maybe you could get soemone from there to help you for the day (?) Man you have paid your dues, let someone else to the heavy lifting (so to speak) for awhile.

Steve,

Redding has no place like that. When I used to live down at Fresno, they had them but not up here. I just now got up as I was going to try to mow that upper lot and when I got to the shed to get the mower, my back was hurting and I got really weak and then sick. Had to sit on the ground for a minute or so and finally got back in the house and took some of my nerve medicine. That was at about 8:20 AM. I got to bed and laid down and just now woke up or regained counscious, whichever and it is 1:15 PM. I have called three places that advertise lawn work and none of them want to mess with just mowing. They all want to install sprinkler systems and do landscaping. I am going to call the city and tell Jeff that I just can't mow it right now and see if he knows any kids that might want to do it. And it isn't even hot today yet. Just barely over the 100 mark right now. I think those heat strokes took to much out of me for a while.

Ron

I need beach front property with nothing but sand.

Tru,

Still hanging in there and may make another attempt to get that mess mowed today. What really ticks me is that three times back when I was having to mow it almost weekly, just as soon as I would finish here came this pick up with mowers in it and the guy wanting to know if I had any mowing he could do. He could see that I had just finished and was cleaning the mowers. Now I can't find him anywhere.

Steve,

I know what you mean about the heat. That is the really bad thing about here. But the Oregon and Washington coast lines have lots of rain spread out almost every day it seems. Probably the reason it is so nice over there. I like around Cresent City just South of the Oregon line but they have lots of fog and rain too. I almost stayed in Washington and went to work when I got out of the military, but that daily rain around the Olympia and Seattle area scared me off. But great weather and great people. And some really beautiful country.

THE WORLD'S BEST CHILI (MADE IN TEXAS)

A business man from Chicago was going on a trip to San Antonio.
Everyone was telling him to visit Bert's Chili House, it has world
famous chili. So after he arrived he went looking for Bert's
Chili House. To his surprise there was a line outside the door. He could smell the chili, and normally wouldn't wait in line but this
smelled so good.

Finally our man gets inside and gets a seat.

What'll ya have?", asked the waitress.

"Well, I heard you have some world famous chili and I could smell
it outside the door, and that is what I really have my heart set on."

"Well I sure am sorry, that guy over there got the last bowl. He
don't seem to be eating it though, just staring at it, you might go see if you can talk him out of it."

So the guy walks over to him, "Hi, I was told you got the last
bowl of chili?"

"Yep, that's what they told me"
" Well, are you going to eat it?"
"Nope, have at it. So the guy tastes it.
"Oh man, that is the best chili I have over eaten." he starts
scarfing it down. He gets down to almost the bottom of the bowl and finds a mouse.
He uncontrollably starts vomiting right back into the bowl.

The guy said, " Yep, that was as far as I got, too."
