Ron, you know it's bad when you are happy about cooling to double digits.

Our big mall here opens the doors early so people have a place to walk out of the heat. I wonder if it helps sales when people are walking by a store window and see something they like and come back when the stores open.

Cool

Brent,

I just got back from the post office and it is only 98 right now, but before I got to the car to unlock it, I was soaked. Feels like walking under a hot waterfall. High today is supposed to be 112 with a heat index of 117/120. This stuff has to go away one of these days.

It the humidity. We have 101 on the temp right now ( that's what the thermometer says ) and it feels like more. The humidity is high.

I think we can map out Kristen's day...based on posts. At each post, she is passing by the computer and has that urge to...type.

Man, it is down right hot!

Only 121* and 20% humidity today. Thw weather channel says it should feel like 112*. Ron, I think you and I should invest in some big fans to put in Oregon facing this way. I would hate to be there with the weather you have. Like being in England standing in front of the A/C blower - the outside part!

Brent,

I think we should invest in a place in Oregon for the Summers. This stuff today is just really bad. Everyone is staying inside as much as they can and even then my skin just feels as if I am sunburned. I can't even imagine trying to drive far in this stuff with an open car. I almost wish we would get some of the rain from one of the hurricanes. My air conditioner runs night and day and it can't keep up with the heat. And even dry heat at the temperatures you are having is bad. The thermometer is right on the 112 mark now and I swear it feels more like 122. I talked to a guy that just came back from the coast over by Cresent City and he said it is even hot over there, at least for that area. I remember being in San Francisco working one time when it hit 100 there and that was a disaster. I think we need to get Kristen to send us some of her air conditioning.

I wish someone would give me a winning lottery ticket! I love the winters here. Then I could make a 2.5 mile road course, I mean driveway here inthe valley and one back in WI. Of course I would invite all of you to come visit for a while.

Brent,

That sounds like a great idea. If I win the lottery we can split it and since you know the best places in WI., you can pick the place for our Summer resort and track, opps, driveway. Then come back out here for the Winters and listen to Tru talk abut shoveling snow. I wish there was a way for us to save this heat and him to save some of the cooler weather and then we could trade in the Summer. I would gladly trade him 80 degrees of this for 50 degrees of his Winter. I guarantee he wouldn't have to shovel any snow in todays weather here. Even if it fell, it would be steam before it got to the ground.

Hi Kristen. Nice of you to pass by. You are shirking your moderator duties.

They were talking about that undergound train cross country. We could use that to pipe our heat his way and his cold our way!

Well guys, just to let you know, it's "HOT and MUGGY" here in Florida too. I went in the garage earlier, around 1130am, just to check on something I had written down on top of my tool box and was only there for a minute or so but was soaking wet with prespiration (swet fer you heathens) when I came back in.

Around 3pm I went out and worked on the Cobra for a short time and was soaking wet the whole time. Went and jumped in the pool and it felt like a warm bath tub.

Right now my back hurts so bad I can hardly move. I guess I need to take it easy a little longer...thinking about taking a pain pill (the first one in 5 or 6 weeks) and going to bed.

Talk to you all later......................stay cool....

passing by again..... 11:45 pm. tru's asleep. earl probably is too. ron. yup. brent, mikez, nah, probably not.

young mike doesn't stop by here much; but I bet he isn't asleep, either.

Big day. Dusted pepe off around 7, and took our friend from georgia for a little ride..... his best sentence was " are we going up on the highway???? ???" it was the way he said it.....

felt really good getting back in.... the 'season' will be here before you know it.... there is a track event the middle or end of september. here I come!!!! speedo working, and new tires..... yippeee!!!! It is so hot. I'm sitting here with a sticky neck, humid, and even inside it's hot. we've been sitting OUTSIDE even, (a small break in the temp; only 97 or so) probably too hot for the mosquitos! Haven't even TOUCHED pepe since rolling off trailer from tulsa. didn't wash the windshield, but at least the car has the first layer of dust off. now needs a real bath, with soap and all. then of course the pipes. hmmmm.

my paint job on the tires looks like $h!t. still. they did back then, and they do now. the left (driver's) side isn't too bad. probably won't redo them. the right side. ugh. the 'oily' residue really messed up the acrylic paint. badly. It's all bubbly and peeling off. just can't redo those letters in this heat. maybe next winter!

I'm missing Ohio. I'm really missing June. It was a really fun month for me.

Maybe October...... the dallas group (of Scat- Shelby cobra assoc. of Texas--- not Dallas group of the texas cobra club) is talking about going to the shelby museum in colorado in the fall. bus ride. gross. up on a friday. see the museum on sat. bus ride back home on sunday. might go just for the change of scenery. but not if it is THE track day!
I hate sweating like this. no perspiration here, earl. sweat. ugh.

tru. I am hoping and planning on going to ohio next year. truck and car tho'. I bet bernie can't make it but every few years. dunno. I'd like to go to a run and gun. wanna go?? this year it is in august. no way for me. but maybe another one sometime. and, going to ohio without a car wasn't too bad. pretty good, actually, except for the little fiasco of the night in chicago. which really wasn't all bad, either, just totally not planned. I still remember my delirium of the keyboard not working. boy was I frustrated!

I think 'el gecko's' wife is gonna come see me in a couple of weeks. el gecko lives in amarillo, and he's wanting to convince his wife the cobra is the thing to get. well, he made it to the dallas groups july meet, but he can't come to the august one. His wife's son lives just a little way away from me, so she's gonna come to dallas, and ride with me to the breakfast meet. cool, huh?? I better do good, and make 'the sale'!!!!
amarillo is about 7-8 hours away from dallas. she'll arrive in Garland around 1 am, and then be at my house at 6:45 am to leave for the meet. not much sleep time in between there!

you guys are too boring. why don't ya'll chat with me???

need a 900 #??? anyway, I AM doing my moderator duties; I'm not shirking nuttin. got ya'll to quit talking about guns, didn't I?? somebody come play with me!
k

Kristen

I just saw that you are no longer the "Cobra Goddess" but have now become the 'Drag Queen Goddess'.

Maybe 'Drag Queen' has a different meaning in the States there..

No Bernie, it normally has the meaning your thinking about but Kristen adapted it to her use after "DRAG RACING" her Cobra. Right after she did it she had to splain herself to some but those of us "in the know' knew what she meant.

Thanks for the thoughts K, its now 0530 and I'm at work. I tried to get part of that 2 hours of sleep but it eluded me so now I've been up since 0915 on Monday morning. I'll probably, if I make it till then, get off at 1530 and go home and "ZONK OUT."

It's 79 degrees here now...gonna be another hot one............

I am not sure "Drag Queen" has the same meaning for HER.

I think Earl is right, we all figured what she was saying...I think.

What a strange summer.

Kristen,

Right now we have a narrow window of breathable weather each day. From about 3:30 AM to around 4 AM when it starts to heat back up. I looked this morning and it was all the way down to around 74. Lowest I have seen it in two weeks. Can't wait for the week end as it is supposed to just get to the 100 mark and not a lot of humidity. Boy, do I ever pray that is going to happen. Just 100 and not much humidity will feellike Fall here. I go to bed around 8:30 our time, but lay in bed and watch TV most of the afternoons now as it is to hot to move. Water bed, crap. My next bed is giong to be referigerated. Try to get an air conditioner repairman around here right now. And I have a contract with my company. Hey, add a loud bell to your computer and I will be happy to wake you up when I get up.

Bernie,

Kristen changed her tag line some time ago. Most knew what she meant but we still got some good digs in about it. Now if she lived out here anywhere within 450 miles of Berkley, she would have to change it.

Ron
