I was going to complain about the heat we have here, but its about 15* cooler than all all of yours.
Mowed yesterday... got more dust coming out of the shute than lawn clippings.
Dad is getting hitched to his gf next month (After he said he would never marry again )
Kristen, would a vinyl decal work on tires rather that always have to redo the lettering?
Summer's almost over, can't decide if that's good or bad.

hey, Mike. I don't think the vinyl letters would work- they'd peel off, too. but it's a thought. stencil the letters, adhesive backed.... hmmmm. maybe. dad's getting married. well, you kinda like those rugrats, dontcha???
summer almost over. good for me. pretty good for you, as you're getting to start at votech; go back and read this thread from last spring- you were SO EXCITED!!!
I guess I need to change all my tag and sig lines. hmmm.
I'll start thinking.....
I do like cobra goddess. that one seemed to stick.
georgia friends are leaving in about an hour. the 'husband' was a groomsman in our wedding, and been a friend of my hubby's since first grade. he divorced the wife I knew way back, and this wife reminds me of the first wife!
he LOVED the cobra....

No I am not in Oregon, yet!
I have been busy building my new website. I have the front page built and the support pages. I could show roughly twenty five thousand products now but I am building it now for growth later. I am working on all the links to tie it all together. Pretty simple just time consuming. I do not have anything uploaded yet. Maybe today I can upload some pages without the products on them yet, we will see. The format looks good if I do have to say so myself. This is the first web page I have built so it is taking a bit longer to learn the system and Front Page 2003.
I raked my yard on Sunday and came very close to haveing a heat srtoke. I felt it coming so I got inside and took a shower and drank plenty water and cooled off. I got dizzy and could not breathe very well so I knew the outside work was over for the day. I am ok now but I feel like I dodged a huge bullet!
Ron:
You need to be careful and stay out of that raging heat out there. I know you have had your share as well of too much heat and have suffered the concequences. It only takes one, remember!!! And we were not promised tommorrow.
We are looking very hard for a place in Oregon. We have narrowed it down to Seaside, Oregon. Seemingly great town with everything we need. Check this out.
Weather in Seaside today 7-19-2005
Temp now: 61*
Humidity: 78*
Expected high: 73*
Expected low: 55*
NW winds: @ 7mph
Thursady they are expecting a heat wave and it should be way up around 80*.
Now you understand another great reason we are wanting to move to Oregon!
WE were coming home from mother in laws house yesterday and Carrie ran over somthing in the road. I think it was a very large bolt. We had a flat. I changed to the throw away in record time of twelve minuetes and went up the street to Dicount Tire. I bought the tirs at a different store and I bought the road hazzard protection. Yep the tire was history. The punchure destroyed the stell belts and the inner wall of the tire. @ $150.00 for a new one. Luckily I purchased the road hazzard when I bought the tire so it was replaced for no cost to us other than the replacement raod hazzard certificate at $15.00. Yes some times it pays to buy the extra stuff they offer. Lucky us
Hope everyone else is Ok and I will try to stop in more often as I get time.

Steve,
Sounds as if you are doing quite well on the web page building. I will have to take a look at Seaside, Oregon and see how many miles it is from me. I am stayiing out of the heat. One of the fire department young guys that works with their volenteers came over and mowed all that stuff for me at no charge. So I donated some to their group. I stay inside all day with the air on all day and night. I hope they are right about the weekend as I can't wait to see it all the way down to 99 during the day again. Everything around here is dust and the fire hazzards are really bad. I am surprised that we have only had two small ones so far. But we still have August to get through. To bad about the tire, but nice that you had the road hazzard on it. Stay out of the heat and have a great day.

Not sure if this will work but thought I would give it a try. Steve and Brent pay particular attention.
The Heat Index (HI) is the temperature the body feels when heat and humidity are combined. The chart below shows the HI that corresponds to the actual air temperature and relative humidity. (This chart is based upon shady, light wind conditions. Exposure to direct sunlight can increase the HI by up to 15°F.)

Good to know since I thought 118* and low humidity (HI of 112) was still much more unpleasant than 95 with high humidity (HI 121+). I guess the lack of evaporative cooling makes heat stroke more likely?
Steve, as simple as you make it sound those web sites are a tedious affair. Even those that have very few pages like the one I did for our daughter. Though I admit having ColdFusion on the server makes things a lot easier.

I think that chart is wondeful. Why did my dinga ling doctor not show me that. I will print off a copy and keep it handy.
I guess with the heat index I was about to catch on fire. No woder I did not feel so good. @ 135*
The web page is not really easy and it is not really hard it is just very time consuming. I am building a large e-commerce page with a lot of behind the scense pages so If I need to add a page it will be a matter of point click and post. At least that is the plan. With this program I could build a simple web page in tem minutes. I was uplaoding images all day. It sure is starting to look like something though.
I am also in the middle of writing a book. I have been aproached to write a book on "How to build your own home" In plain english. I have written @400 pages and it is very good. I still have about three or four chapters to pen and It'll be done.
I am also reading a book "How to get from where you are to where you want to be" This is a great piece of work!!! It makes me think about my life as as whole. I'll be back

Good morning all..............................................a nother warm one here..........................could be worse.............................thank goodness its not!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And now a little piece from good old Andy;
It can't be said better!
Right on, Andy Rooney!
Andy Rooney said on "60 Minutes" a few weeks back:
I don't think being a minority makes you a victim of anything except numbers. The only things I can think of that are truly discriminatory are things like the United Negro College Fund, Jet Magazine, Black Entertainment Television, and Miss Black America. Try to have things like the United Caucasian College Fund, Cloud Magazine, White Entertainment Television, or Miss White America; and see what happens...Jesse Jackson will be knocking down your door.
Guns do not make you a killer. I think killing makes you a killer. You can kill someone with a baseball bat or a car, but no one is trying to ban you from driving to the ball game.
I believe they are called the Boy Scouts for a reason, that is why there are no girls allowed. Girls belong in the Girl Scouts! ARE YOU LISTENING MARTHA BURKE?
I think that if you feel homosexuality is wrong, it is not a phobia, it is an opinion.
I have the right "NOT" to be tolerant of others because they are different, weird, or tick me off.
When 70% of the people who get arrested are black, in cities where 70% of the population is black, that is not racial profiling, it is the Law of Probability.
I believe that if you are selling me a milkshake, a pack of cigarettes, a newspaper or a hotel room, you must do it in English! As a matter of fact, if you want to be an American citizen, you should have to speak English!
My father and grandfather didn't die in vain so you can leave the countries you were born in to come over and disrespect ours. I think the police should have every right to shoot your sorry behind if you threaten them after they tell you to stop. If you can't understand the word "freeze" or "stop" in English, see the above lines.
I don't think just because you were not born in this country, you are qualified for any special loan programs, government sponsored bank loans or tax breaks, etc., so you can open a hotel, coffee shop, trinket store, or any other business.
We did not go to the aid of certain foreign countries and risk our lives in wars to defend their freedoms, so that decades later they could come over here and tell us our constitution is a living document; and open to their interpretations.
I know pro wrestling is fake, but so are movies and television. That doesn't stop you from watching them
I think Bill Gates has every right to keep every penny he made and continue to make more. If it ticks you off, go and invent the next operating system that's better, and put your name on the building.
It doesn't take a whole village to raise a child right, but it does take a parent to stand up to the kid; and smack their little behinds when necessary, and say "NO!"
I think tattoos and piercing are fine if you want them, but please don't pretend they are a political statement. And, please, stay home until that new lip ring heals. I don't want to look at your ugly infected mouth as you serve me French fries!
I am sick of "Political Correctness." I know a lot of black people, and not a single one of them was born in Africa; so how can they be "African-Americans"? Besides, Africa is a continent. I don't go around saying I am a European-American because my great, great, great, great, great, great grandfather was from Europe. I am proud to be from America and nowhere else
And if you don't like my point of view, tough...
DON'T PASS IT ON!!

Steve,
The chart was an eye opener for me too. I never realized just how much the temperature and humidity worked together to destroy a person. Of course that is a Calif. chart and may not apply in other real states.
Congratulatons on the book you are writing. As for the one that you are reading ,"How to get from where you are to where you want to be." This couldn't possibly be a road a Road Atlas from Texas to Oregon could it?
Tru,
It is hard to have live video of a thermometer going up. I don't have a high speed camera.

Sounds like a good book. Now get the webb site completed so you can be around a little more. Don't forget to post the URL for it.

Steve, when that site is ready, let me know. I have a friend looking for some improved performance ofr his Hyundai (sp?).
I hear California is going to be just blistering hot, down from stupifyingly hot. Of course in a couple weeks it will be I am sitting on the sun hot.
El Centro has a saying on all the Welcome to... signs as you come into town that says "Where the sun spends the winter". They should add "and it invites a friend for the summer!"

Brent,
Having been to El Centro a couple of times in the Summer, short stays thank God, I believe you about the Welcome to signs. Now if we can figure a way to get all of the humidity to concentrate down there for the Summer!!!! We are actually in the start of a cold wave as it is just barely 106 and not really bad humidity right now. Of course it is just 10:20 AM and we still have the afternoon to go. I can't wait for the weekend when it said it would be down to just 101 or maybe even as low as 99 if the Arctic air gets here.

I like you Ron, but you can keep all the humidity.
Sounds like it's going to be downright chilly up there and with the humidity you will get that cold damp wind that chills you to the bone!
I hope the DRQ/CG doesn't read this part: I decided on a Kimber. Not sure the caliber yet. Probably .45ACP so I can get the .22 conversion with it. I need to sell a Porsche 911 first though.

Hey, why should we both be miserable. Since you are so much younger than I am and can take this stuff a lot easier, if we could concentrate it all in that one area, just think how nice all the rest of the state would be.
Sounds as if you have picked a good gun to get. I have got to get back over to the range and shoot again as I still have one free pass. And they are air conditioned. Don't worry about CG. I used to have 7 guns and am down to two now. But I am looking at a smaller one for a carry weapon as the 9 MM is a little big to wear when I am in the Cobra seats as they are so darned closed in. Maybe a 50 calibur that I can mount to the car. I was actually looking at a S&W Sigma in my NRA Magazine this morning that is only a little larger than the palm of my hand and fires both 9 MM and .40 cal. ammo. I think they have some of them over at the range and if so, I am going to try one out and see how I like it.

I really like the .40SW cartridge. Good acurracy and knockdown power for it's size. In IPSC the 40 is the most dominant cartridge in the production pistol class.
Maybe I'll just get a Kimber Custom Satinless II in .40SW.
