No he was the owner of a private company. Grown man, mid to late forties. Old enough to know better.

I bet he don't do it again though.

Knowing it was the owner, it wouldn't be someone I would do business with.

Dang HLC, you sound like you got your panties in a knot.

All I said was I wish I could write that much.

Steve? Shoes?

The most comforatble ones for me are avia. They just seem to fit better.

To be honest I have never worn a pair of New Balance, I was never one to pay for that name brand stuff.

aren't new balance the only tennies still made in the usa? Is that an 'urban legend'???

no knot, tru. just kidding with ya....

Thanks, steve.

my hubby says I talk around here like there are 5 kids, not four.... I agree... but for a reason....

regarding the desperate housewife.... I was really mad at him the other day... of course now I can't remember why.... anyway, I was on CC, and there was NO ONE playing in the lounge, on the forum, nothing. I posted on several threads, and basically it was dead. So, I thought of the desperate housewife thing.... What is a 40 something woman doing looking for a chat on the internet late at night???? Just hit me funny, although wrong..... kinda....

I have never seen the show "Desperate Housewives". I don't watch much tv.... I may have set up the wrong impression again, sorta like the drag queen thing... (which I did do on purpose )

The show is probably trashy husband swapping stuff. Don't know. I was just playing around. I'll think of something and change it. You know. I change it ALL THE TIME!

been to the school meeting. Had a lot to say.

Even fixed fajitas for dinner! hubby cleaned it up, can you believe it. I hope I remembered to turn off the grill. better check....

Hope Earl is doing ok. Tough thing, I'm sure. Don't know.

I wonder how the newlywed, the other brent is doing? Hope he's getting lots of relaxing in! Can't believe it will be 20 years for me in September.....

well, gotta go. Seeya in the morning.

The New Balance "608" is about $45 most of the time. They last pretty good too.

When I played racquetball I used NIKE. Had them made to fit my feet and used high tops as I have weak ankles. I had all kinds of padding in them as I my feet really took a pounding. went through about three pair a year. Tried Converse and a couple of other brands and really never felt good to me. And no, I never paid the $200 plus for them just because Michel Jordan wore them. When I was playing racquetball he was still in the 6th grade. I still have my last pair that I wear around here once in a while and they are in pretty good shape for 48 year old shoes. I seem to have lost the 3rd one though so I don't wear the other two much.

New balance here are about $65-70 for the cheap ones

I just can't see it. I could spend $25-30 and get three new pair for what one pair cost. I doesn 't make sense to me. I am just going to get them dirty anyway.

Carrie and I were at Target one day and they had some close outs going on. I bought 6 pair of descent tennis shoes (yes pairs) for $2.88 for each pair. I wear them all the time. I have only worn one pair so far and they have lasted about 10 months. They still look real good and they are very comfy. I can't even tell you the name brand.

We bought all they had of every size. The ones that fit us we kept the others we gave to the church. They were having a food and clothing drive. I think we donated something like 45-50 pair of tennies.

The cheap shoes make my feet sweat and the ones at Payless are the worst. I would rather spend $20 more and be comfortable. I've had my current ones for a couple years and they are due to be replaced and used as my old shoes.

I won't buy plastic shoes, for me or kids! Yeah, they're cheap, but boy, do they stink! Plastic shoes and kids sweaty feet- p u!!!

I went to our parents' day out program one day, and we could not figure out what the mildewy smell was.... finally followed around the kids, and sure enough, some kid had on mildewed shoes that had spiderman type stuff on it. Gross! The cheap leather shoes are ok, it's the plastic shoes that smell to heaven!

Converse are fun but have NO SUPPORT. I bought some Nike walkers a couple of months ago, and LOVE them. I buy every pair of shoes for me or kids at famous footwear. They are generally overruns, discontinued, but not seconds like an outlet mall. Have been pleased, and the prices are less than mall or athletic stores. I do check.....

Shoes and stinky feet. Yetz!!!! Go back to the weather and over weight people.

Brent,

If it takes cheap shoes to make your feet sweat come up here for a day or so with your most expensive ones. My feet sweat when I am going barefoot across the carpet on the way to the shower and that is with the air conditioner on.

Earl,

You don't suffer so much in Death Valley because you go into it knowing it is going to be a miserable place. Wearing long sleeve shirts on nights that it got down into the 80s and days that never got over 120 in the Winter. A great place to visit and sight see, but not for volleyball.

I don't understand these people that want to hike across with only a gallon of water in the middle of summer.

For the most part they really don't know much about the desert and especially that area. Crap, I used to carry at least 5 gallons when driving out to go hiking and no way was I going to try and walk across the valley. I was to busy looking for Gold to worry about hiking long distances. I have seen lots of old cars setting beside the road over heating and blowing steam and the people never had a drop of water with them. Those old low pressure systems in the 40s and 50s cars just didn't do well in that type climate. Also remember, no Air conditioning in the cars. They got so hot inside people had to stop and get out to cool off.

HLC, sent ya a email. Let me know.

Ron, you certainly sound much more chipper than you have. Got new vitamins or something?????

You got to know it hot when park your car and it will not more when you try to leave later on...because the tires are glued to the black top. Yow!

Am I a bad employee when all I look forward to is payday???

tru, nothing wrong with looking forward to collecting your reward after a long
week - sounds like you may have been there for a while though!
