Admit it Bob. The title got your attention just as it did everyone else's. I first looked at the thread because I wondered why anyone would start a thread and then want it ignored.

Mike,
Don't tell me the beaches at Santa Barbara are still full of nothing but the greatest looking girls and women. The last time I went over to the coast from here some of the women on the beach should have been limited to two at a time fro fear of sinking the beach with all the weight.

Well we are still having rain and my yards look like hat fields. But we are almost up to normal for this time of year for the first time in over 4 years. As they said though, we can't make up 3 years of drought in this year alone. The lake had risen around 45 feet, but that is because it was so low.Once it gets high enough to start filling the canyons then it will slow down a lot as it takes a huge amount of water to raise it a foot once it is backing up into the canyons. They are just hoping it will get high enough to let the boaters go into the various canyons as that will help with the tourists.

Ron,
That is what they told us and in just over a year we were flooding cities. The rains started late 06 here after a 5 year drought and they didn't stop all year 07. Initial flash flooding from dry ground, but then after a few months, the lakes kept rising. By mid year dams were opening to let water out, then they were open fully for months, yet the rains kept coming. Then any low area (underpasses, etc...) would begin to flood every time there was a rain. City engineers were really worried by the time 08 came around. We have not heard the word water restriction since. We still have to keep letting water out to go down stream about every month just to keep below flood levels. You may get something similar as well. In 07, I don't know how much rain we got, but there was not any extended dry spell I can remember. I remember having BBQs in the garage.

Joe,
They are letting water out of the lake at a higher level now, but they have to be careful. If they let to much out and we don't get a lot more rain then they won't be much better off than last year. It is supposed to be partly cloudy today and rain again tomorrow.

Raining again here this morning. I don't think we have gone a whole week without rain since September.

We had our nicest day in over three weeks yesterday. It was sunny and got up to 60° and the wind stopped early in the morning. But the yards still have water standing in low places and you can't see it because of the high grass. I need for it to dry out so I can mow t=but they say more rain tomorrow.

Mick,
It is a 1969 NASCAR Cobra which is based on the 69 Fairlane chassis with a lot of under the skin modifications. I don't drive it much any more as the tires are getting old and they are the original bias ply ones that came on the car.
Bob,
Get your mind out of the gutter.

Ron, I'd slap some new sneakers on that baby & drive the paint off it! As you can tell, I'm not one for keeping original or collectibility. Nothing wrong with that, just not my thing. I cut up, modify & flog the dog shiite out of my cars!
