I figured she would have him bidding it up.
She's got an interesting approach to this.
I look at this thing with the car as FUN, but there are some serious people on the site.
Hey, are you okay? A few posts ago I sensed a bit of something. Is everything okay?
You can't trade this many posts and not feel you have developed a few friends.
Let me know. Mail me if you want.

bah hum bug. I am so mad. $2 mil. Can you believe it.
Where are you guys? It's getting late, so I'm off to bed.... but Ron where have you been today/this weekend? Missing all the fun. And where's Mike? Are ya still shoveling?
I went to flea market today, looking for little cobras. Found 2 silly little cheap ones. Fun for gifts....
Last March, when I had just bought Pepe, I went to this obscure little cd/record shop. I asked for the album, 'hey little cobra', but he didn't have it... said he was headed to Austin for a huge show in a few weeks and would look around. I bought the album cover only on ebay a few weeks later, and didn't really give it much thought.... Well, today I went to the shop (next to flea market) and lo and behold, he said 'you're not the girl with the cobra, are you?' He found a pristine album and cover in Austin, last April, and had been saving it for me this whole time! Also an old poster of a red cobra (know who's getting that already....) and another cheap copy of the hot rod usa by the rip chords. I bet I've spent HOURS looking for that wah-wahini song for the guy on the other thread. Nobody has the new release (1996!) of 3 window coupe in stock. 2 weeks to order/deliver, plus $5 bucks extra for ordering and delivery yada yada... makes it a $20-25 cd pretty quick. I think the guy will have to do it himself! Went to sam goody, walmart, best buy, this cd store, target, you name it. hmm. need to go to half price books. I get some good books and mags there.... So. had a nice time today doing my own thing. Sent the stingy hubby and heathens to church with out me, so I could sulk about HLC by myself. My new cobra buddy has hooked me up to a site that has the 1/43 size HLC model. Yea! Already ordered, and hopefully not a ripoff, and soon to be on it's way....
Well, see ya'll later. Check in tomorrow Ron. Tru wants to be sure you're still breathing...
Kristen

BTW. Went to Keith Craft ms in Plano on Saturday. Looked in on Pepe. what a shock!!! The carpet is pulled back, the seats are unbolted, the shifter is missing, and man, he looks kinda sad and scared. Wondering where all his parts are, and when he's coming home! Gotta get that lift and tools stuff started. The car looks so dirty, dusty. Gary kept it sooo clean! Maybe I need to hire gary to come 'clean cobra' once a week, while he does his own sulking, waiting for CSX 4758 to come back from Vegas, again. No offense, Ron, if you really are under the weather. We are worried about you!

Tru, Kristen, Mike,
You couldn't offend me if you tried. I am to dumb to actually recognize an insult so nothing bothers me.
Did the Hey Little Cobra actually go for $2 mil.? That must be a record for a car of that type. Glad that you found your record album. Don't panic abut the dirt and dust on Pepe. That will come off and give you something to do when he comes home. And the car always looks much worse with the carpert pulled back and everything in a mess so to speak. All of that will be easy to fix and you won't even know it ever happened.
Mike,
Ridiculous And you in school.

Tru,
Thanks to all of you. As for breakfast or dinner, come on. We can use the Mt. Shasta Mall as about all it is used for is some older people who go for their morning walks abround it. I think it is about a mile around as they have the walk way laid out. Then as soon as their walk is finished they head for the donought shops and sit and eat for a couple of hours. I heard one woman complaining that she had been making the walk for over a month and had gained weight. At the time, she was sitting at a table with about 6 donoughts, a milk shake, and some other snacks. Sounds like grounds for a law suite to me.
How is the weather there now? It was sunny here yesterday but we had a very cold wind blowing all day. Not sure what today is supposed to be like and it is still a couple of hours until daylight.

I am waiting for it to get either much colder ( then we would have negative temperatures ) or it to warm up ( then it would melt ).
Hey, the boys are in round two of the districts eliminations. They won last night 6 to 5.

Tru,
Good news about the boys. Hope they continue to win. We are going to have a great day here. A little wind blowing that is cool, but sunny and supposed to get into the upper 60s and low 70s the next couple of days. I was out in the yard but it is way to wet to even think about mowing. Thank goodness for that.

Take that lizard you have in the garage and take a drive. Get it while you can.

Tru,
Weather is nice but the wind is blowing quite hard today and it is cold as it comes right across the snow in the mountains surrounding the valley. I have made my reservations for the WSCB in Reno in May and plan to drive over. Now I need to plan a route that has gas stations closer than 150 miles apart. My 33 MPG won't go to far with just a 16 gallon tank. Wish you and Kristen and Mike could make it but that is a long way for all of you. If I could afford a pick up to tow a trailer, I would think about the Spring Fling and some other events, but that is out of the question. I looked at an 1985 Ford F-250 yesterday with a cracked exhaust manifold, leaking brakes, and other miscellaneous problems and they guy wants $n 6,500 for it. Crap, it would take anouther $9,500 to get it in shape where I wouldn't be afraid to get out of town with it. Also the transmission had some problems. I have about came to the conclusion that I would be better off to have one of the car haulers haul the car if I go anywhere far away and them come get it and haul it back. I plan to do as much as I can this Summer.

You probably don't need any trucks that need that kind of repair. So, what's the deal, you looking to drive it to the WSCB in Reno?
Mike's got shop class. I was wondering what I would have to do to get him to weld up a frame. I figured I might just call the school. Or worste, Kristen, you can call.
AAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Three more months of frozen... stuff.

Tru,
No way am I hauling the beast to the WSCB in Reno. To many great curvy roads between there and here. My main concern is finding gas statons as some of the roads go many miles to get you 50 miles. They follow old stage coach roads that wind all around the canyons as the horses couldn't pull the stages up over the mountains. I could use a small pick up around here from time to time as once in a while I have to get stuff that I can't haul in the car. If I were going to take the Cobra a long distance, it would actually be cheaper for me to have it hauled by one of the car hauling companies and them have them come bring it back when I am through. That way I wouldn't be paying taxes, weight fees, insurance, and registration on something that just set 98% of the time. Years ago I had a huge composite triple axeltrailer with all the goodies including six wheel electric brakes. I think I used it twice. It was costing me over $900 a year in fees and taxes just to have it setting here. So I sold it to a friend of mine that drag races. It had built in tool boxes, work bench, generator, and fuel racks. Electric lift on the front to raise and lower it.
Having Mike weld up a frame sounds like a good project for him. Just tell him to make sure it is squared and not in the rectangle shape that one guy here did. He had a devil of a time trying to get everything to fit.
Our weather is great except for a very hard and cold wind that has blown day and night the past three days. Really has my sinuses in a mess. Other wise I would be out driving the Cobra. I should take the 69 out but I don't want to ruin those 36 year old tires and I don't have any more wheels right now to put new tires on. Oh, the frustration of decisions. I think I am going to pull the women thing and go shopping and spend money. I want to go browse the Sears tool department today and see if they have a couple of things that I saw in the book that I am interested in.

hmm. Sears book. My catalog hasn't arrived yet.....
Yeah, Ron, you ought to get a second set of wheels, with everyday tires on it. Then for special things, trade out the wheels with the vintage tires. Sounds good to me.....
It's Wednesday! yea!!! scrapbook day!!!
gotta clear off table of breakfast dishes, wash everything up, make hmm, 3 beds, (boys are upstairs, and on their own!) collect, separate start load of laundry. feed dog. feed birds. feed fish. tidy up. go play! What book to work in today.... mad at hubby, so not doing our book (didn't buy me hlc...) furious at #1 son, moody teenage attitude, not doing his book, hmmm. #1 daughter's book. She's now 8, but in her book she's only 4 months! yeah, I'll do hers.... Need to catch up school books, too. never ending.... but a lot of fun, and also beneficial to my pictures. quilting bee of the new millenium. I've about given up on ever acquiring HLC. I'm thinking of doing a tribute book to HLC. Would be funny..... yeah, I have a book on a car I don't even own! haha. My current book on Pepe is caught up. I doubt I make the dallas groups meet on saturday. hubby and #1 girl have indian princess campout, and both boys have basketball, and #1 son has his first soccer game. I don't think I fit in there anywhere! Usually hubby does the carting around a good bit of the hoodlums. Scout Sunday is this sunday. oh joy. I can't skip church and play with you guys on sunday! bummer. It's soo fun and sneaky to push hubby and heathen children out the door to church, and then lo and behold, mom just didn't make it this time. Oh well, gotta get religion sometime.....
well, I'm just rambling on. Guess since I'm not talking to anybody at home (silent treatment) I might as well blab blab blab to ya'll. Aren't ya'll the lucky ones!!!! Where's Mikie? Where's Earl? Haven't seen anybody in here in a while, except tru and Ron!
In fact this whole page is tru, ron, kristen and 1 post by Mike. hmm. where is everybody? Clay? Still monitoring ya'll at work?
somebody come play with me!!!

Darn Kristen,
I was about to post to see if you are still around. I thought that maybe you had taken a week off to go visit with Pepe. I think Mike is probably busy in school as I haven't heard much from him lately.
Darn, I never heard of anyone doing so much scrap booking. You have to get that caught up before driving weather. You need to take Pepe on a long drive, 500 miles or so each way.
Ifa truck pulls up with a load of tools for you to sign for COD don't be surprised. Since you can't get away from the scrap books I would be happy to select you some tools. But the color keyed tool box you have to get. Do you know what a pain it was to sit for hours painting red and white on all of my tools to match the Beast?

Earl,
Just how much do you have left to do on your Cobra? If you have a lot of the little time consuming stuff done already, a build party could pretty much get you going in a weekend. I think I posted earlier about the one they had out here and it worked out great. Best of luck.

Hi Ron, I have a "long" way to go but a build party sure coud not hurt. It would help getting some things done. Right now I have only a short block and tranny installed in my frame. I hope, with the build party, to get brake lines finished, heads and intake mounted, and a few other little odds and ends accomplished.
Thanks, Earl

Earl,
You will be surprised at what can be accomplished in a day with four or five guys who know what they are doing. I don't
know anything and I helped a friend for a day with his and just the two of us got the suspension and all the chassis work done and we never really worked that hard. Of course he has been mad at me ever since the rear end fell out. Just Kidding!

Earl, I can assure you that im not spending time with HER.
Yes, I have been busy with school work. We have a Romeo and Juliet thingamobober to do. She (my english teacher) says Ill love poetry whenever we're done with it. Yea right, that'll never happen. Shop teacher wants me to join the FFA so I can enter the engine building contest they have..., I try to post during my keyboarding class, but for some reason I can't get my post in. That class is sooooooooooooo friggin boring that it aint funny no more.
Kristen, what happened to the tools you were supposted to send my way? Get me an Ingersol Rand air ratchet, a 1/2 impact wrench (air,) air drill, 3/8 heavy duty air ratchet, 3/8 angle drill, 1,201 piece mechanics tool set, the Craftsman Professional 56 inch wide tool box combo and we'll call it even. Oh and I want the tool box painted to match my nonexistent Cobra.
