Earl,
At least the day won't drag so badly. As for the I want series, I doubt if you could top mine. I could spend all day listing things I want and only 1 small thing stands between me and them. Actually two things. Moving to another state, and MONEY . I lilke this area but am really tired of all the bull that is going on. Alcoholics are allowed to drive here without a drivers license and in a van that hasn't been registered or insured for years and all they do is stop them and send them home. They have a huge, 2600 square foot house paid for by dope money. Honest people can't even have a replica Cobra here without spending years trying to get a number, but they can drive drunk, no license, no registration or insurance and not even be arrested. I got some of the records on them and it is staggering at the times they have been stopped and all over the state and in other states too. And not a dam day of jail time for this.

Earl,
I keep looking at homes in other states and wishing. As for the aging thing, I should have been born a woman. I know one who was out of school long before me and I am now 65 and she is 39. And no, I never spent 20 years in one grade. I think she has had about 30, birthdays for being 39 years old. Is it tolate for a sex change?
But things could always be worse. so I take it and go from there. May start a study class on cloning for the fun of it. Maybe I could clone something worth while.

Got the kiddos dropped off at school....
I'm trying to decide if it is worth re-reading all of the hmmm, how many pages?? of this thread to find out what I should be so scared of myself about. hmm. guess I'll just take a wait and see attitude. I have a distant recollection of some of the topics.... I think cobra goddess is in there somewhere, moderator, hmm. what else?? Maybe I just don't want to know.... But.... big Mike has me wondering!
So. Mike, what possessed you to 'jump in'? It's been mostly me, Ron, Earl, young Mike, Clay for a while, UT occasionally, Trularin quite a bit, and a smattering of others for quite a long time. I think most everybody else fell off along the way. Even Rick pops in from time to time....
I almost posted a site I found (to post on the camel thread) but thought better of it; it would ruin my goddess reputation for sure. And my 'mom' monitor status, and well, there are minors on here!
BTW. Everybody. Young Mike turns 15 in a few weeks. We need to send him cards!!! Somewhere he posted his address (I think) back on a weather post, showing the snow or something? Mike could make us all go look back 20 pages or so, or he could post here again!!! Or, email....
Gotta go!! clean up, etc..... SCRAPBOOK DAY!! yippee!!!
Y. Mike, glad you found the picture of the metal bender. You described it pretty well. How long did it take to find the picture?
Have a great day! I'll be back later....

Hey, Ron. I forgot. Couldn't you just move a few miles North to Oregon? They don't have the same regulations as Cal. do they? You could keep a similar terrain, landscape, and just be a few miles from all you have near now. Or come to Big T and join the heat and humidity.... Are you looking at Ark., or Tenn.? I remember you mentioning something about somewhere southeast..... Sorry about your pinched nerve in your hip. I get it every now and then, and just would hate to have it constantly.....
Earl. What, exactly do you do? ATC? military? civilian?

Kristen,
I have looked at some places in Oregon. Trouble is they have gotten greedy from the Calif. people moving up there. And yes, I have talked to people in arkansas, Missouria, and Texas just to name a few. Just hate the thought of moving at my age. Oklahoma and New Mexico are other places I have looked at. I want to stay away from the high priced tourist type places. That is one of the main reasons why everything around here is so high. I think that about 85% of the income for this area is from toursits and the locals get shafted as well. And right now, some places in Oregon don't have the same regulations as here, but there is pressure being applied to put them into effect. Looks bad for Calif. to have so many people leaving. In the last year, 9 of my best friends have left here. Two to Oregon, one to Missouria, and the others to Oklahoma and Texas.

I'm a lead flight dispatcher for Embry Riddle Aeronautical University. We have about 60 planes we are responsible for.

Kristen, yes I turn 15 next month, the 15th. Took me a while to find a pic of that bender, I knew what it looked like but I didn't know the name of it. I hate it when that happens.
Talked to my Sr Project advisor today, and I switched from building the house to building an engine for the Cobra (427), or rebuilding a 352 or 390 for an early 60's t-bird for a daily driver. Screw gas prices, I want POWER!

Mike,
You should be able to find a 390 block pretty easy. The 427 may be a different story as there just weren't that many to begin with. But you can make the 390 into a 427 easy enough, just won't be a side oiler. The 1962/63 406 blocks are good ones too if you can locate one. Once you get the engine built, all you need is a lawn mower to put it on.

Ron, for the Cobra I am planning on using a cast iron block from Genesis. I can look for FE's at Carlisle this year, there was this one tent that had about 6 390 blocks, a complete 427 Medium riser engine, 2 428 blocks, a 406 block, and a bunch of misc stuff. If I only had the $5,000 that guy wanted for that 427.
Now, as for that lawn mower.....

Mike,
That $5K for the complete 427 wasn't bad if it was a good engine and had no problems. As for the lawn mower, maybe a snow blower in your case.

Listen closely. That fading sound you hear is KRISTEN'S post count pulling farther away from you. The rushing sound that is getting louder is WINTER returning for another 2 months with you. Maybe you had better get two snow blowers.

On second thought, maybe I could build a Flathead V8, put it in an old Model A and make it into rod......
And no, winter is NOT coming back.
