I think that the first "221" was the flathead V-8 that Ford offered in 1932, in the Model B's!

Ran a rat power 1970 chevelle.
427 all tricked up, tripple black with a 4:56 rear 12 bolt.
With slicks it would pull one wheel off the ground.
Those were the days. Woodward ave friday, saturday and sunday. chassing girls and picking on corvettes.
Gas was 50 cents a gallon for the good stuff. All the cars ran Sunoco for the octane.

No Earl, I figured I would build one more rifle and call it quits.
Nice Argentino 1909, Berlin action with a SS fluted 270 barrel. Timney trigger with M70 safety on the shroud. Sitting snug in a laminated through hole stock.

Mike,
Earl and you have a great soluton. Now if you can just convince each member of the club to loan me $10 dollars, I may be able to swing it. No one will finance a car out here for anone on disability or with less than $$$$$$$ dollars a month income. Also the fact I have not bought anything on credit since 1965 doesn't help, though I can't understand why why my properety, $230,000 clear, isn't considered as clolletral for a $50K loan.
I don't need a car anyway as I may not be able to drive much longer unless something can be done about my hip.

How about 10K for hip replacement, 40K for a car?

Hip surgery estimate = $45 - $65K. No guarnatee of being able to run, jog, or use the leg and hip in any stressful fashion anyway, plus at least 6 months of rehibilitation. Since the torn rotator cuff should heal by then, I can put up with the hip.
Now the money for the car, that is the important thing. I am going to call my property inurance agent next week and see if they will do loans. My neighbor got one for his place some time back through his home owners insurance. Crap, I need another car like I need to fall off the house again.

Ron,
I hope you have given up falling off your roof.
Doesn't sound like much of a hobby.

Kristen,
I have falling off things down to a science. And yes, my doctor thinks that is what started the hip problem. The torn rotator cuff I did when I started to pull the cord to start my lawn mower. He thinks I must have had my arm and shoulder a little twisted as I only got the cord about half way and it felt as if something had ripped my arm off.
Fred,
I am looking into having my house lowered into the ground about 6 feet so I won't have so far to fall. I think so far the only placeI haven't fallen off of it was onto the driveway. One time I just cleared the top of one of the chain link fence posts that has a pointed cap on the top. Main problem. OOOLLLLDDDD

Tru,
With a weekend of nothing you have to do, now is the time to take the Cobra for a nice long warm up drive.

9:30 am. ahhh. relax is right. sitting here in jammies and slippers. about time I had an easy Saturday..... pancakes and bacon served right up. Hubby is 'back from the living dead'. He decided it wasn't the flu after all. hmmm. 5 days of vacation time???? He can wash the blasted dishes THIS morning...
#2 son has basketball at 2. the girls are already circling; calling to see if he or any of his buddies are coming to their games at 11 & 12. little casanova.....
#1 son didn't go on scout campout. pretty mad about that. not an important one, but still, he needed to be 'out' for a while. We are doing a total 'clean sweep' of their room. It's this 'studio' type thing over the kitchen, garage, and quite big. When we looked at the house 3 1/2 years ago, they had a king bed, 2 twins, sofa, chairs setup. So, we're gonna try and give each boy their own 'space', more or less. Go buy a queen bed for #1 son, put the 2 twins together for #2 son, new dresser, rearrange, put up the action figures not played with anymore, turn it into a 'teenager' room, not 'little boy' room. Anybody wanna come help? They want the room done; but not with their help. Mom, just go buy the bed, and fix it all up for us... pleeeaaassseee!!!!
fat chance. It is a pig sty. Beanie baby wars. they play dodge ball with beanie babies. They are leaving, with all the other junky stuffed animals, toys, etc. ahh. there's #2 son. Mom, do you have any pancakes for me???
gotta go. check ya'll later...
k
oh, Ron. Why are you on the roof so much, to cause you to fall off so much?

Kristen,
I have to get up there to clean the gutters and check the shingles every so often. I have a composite type roof which they require and this hot sun we have here makes a 20 year roof last about 8 years if you are lucky.

Tru,
Just add a 5 in place of the 1 and you won't have 16 degree weather. Then convince your body that it is actually 56 degrees and everything will be fine.
We have been having light rain showers off and on the past three days but no really cold weather. Low 50s at night and once clear down to 46.
Sunday. My day of rest. Lay down. prop the hip and leg up, get a few Diet Pepsis, put my right arm in a sling, and watch the Daytona 500 Race. Tomorrow is a holiday so I won't be dong anything either. Tuesday I have to get holdof the city as they raised the water rates and either gave me incorrect information, of once again they porgrammed their computer wrong, as nearly every time they raise anything the first bills out are overcharged. I wrote a simple program about 20 years ago that I use and it has saved me a good bit of money over the years with their mess ups. Now they don't even question when I call in, just tell me what the latest increase was and then if that is what they gave me they deduct the over charge and call their programmer back to correct the problem.

Still too cold. Now it looks like 3 to 12 inches of snow.
I think I am going to have to go to work on monday, even if there is a foot on the ground.
When you end up in a bed with wires holding up your parts, I think watching is about all you can do.
Kristen, had pancakes this morning, in your honor.
