Mike,
Listen to what Tru and Kristen said. I have spent most of the morning on the phone and faxing papers to my home insurer to try and get a home equity type loan approved just to have for an emergency. I was getting no where until I proved I didn't need the loan, but just wanted it to be available in case of an emergency. As soon as they heard that, things really got better. Still don't know if I will get it approved or not, but it would be nice to have to fall back on. And if I don't use any of it, then there are no payments. So just prove to them that you don't need the money and get me a million while you are at it. My not having bought anything on credit since 1965 really made it difficult, but they did a credit rating check and I got an 810 ranking out of a top of 1,000. So that really made it good as the woman said anything over 650 they would normally ok the loans.

Little Mike, I'm confused and a little PO'd but maybe I missed something.
You are looking at VoTech/High School/Work instead of High School/VoTech/College?
You are, what, 15 now?
Please don't lock your plans. Jeez, you are not even old enough to drive. Look, I'm 54 and I STILL don't know what I want to be when I grow up.
It would be wonderful if you finished all the VoTech courses and got hired as Mr. Goodwrench.
I would rather see you finish VoTech and use your skills to have the income to complete a BS/BA in... something.
Then go to work as Mr. Goodwrench's BOSS.
Hey, look, last semester I was crowding 7 young people through college. Two of them couldn't cut it. This semester I have 5, and they are struggling, but making it happen.
I can add one more.
God's been good to me, and I WILL NOT die a rich man.
I am dead serious.
Just tryin' to give you options.
PM me for details.
UT
BTW, Gunrack should be in primer this week.

Mike,
Have I got this straight. You go to VoTech and skip your senior year of high school. Just how is that going to affect you when you apply for a job. I thought you were going to finish high school first and then go to VoTech. Now I know this was a long time ago, but when I was working for the labs and companies, they would not hire anyone that didn't have a high school diploma, no matter what other schooling they had. But with a high school diploma and a diploma from any good Computer Tech school, they would hire that person over one with a degree from some college. Those degrees are only paper and what you make of them. I have 4 degrees and about 14 diplomas from various universities and tech schools that delt with computers. But one thing we always asked first, was do you have a high school diploma, though it had no bearing at all on wheather the person was qualified. A fewwho had skipped the last year of high school by taking the tests and showing they were capable of going on, were classified in a different way. So don't rush things as you are very young and just beginning. Do it right and in the end the dividends will be greater. Heck, you may even be able to pass Kristens spelling tests.

Ron, when one takes VoTech, you still recieve your high school diploma, reguardless as to whether or not you take the final year of VoTech. I still have to go to High School in the AM, I just go out and work after 3rd period. So I will actually graduate with two diplomas, one for High School and one for a Diesel Technician.

Mike,
Ok, now I understand. For some reason I thought I had read a post where you said you might not finish high school and I know that out here you can do what you are doing. That was why I was wondering why you wouldn't finish high school while you were going to VoTec.
Darn, I am tired and the club is so slow loading it is taking forever. I just came in from washing the Comet and I think since it takes forever to post I may go for a drive now.
Love this weather!!!!!

The existance of this thread reminds me of that Pixar movie "Bugs Life" where the senior ant reminds all of the other ants that the fallen leaf is nothing compared to the twig of '93. Ok here's the point...Look at my eyes, follow me, lets let this thread die and start a new one...this is nothing compared to the Joke of the Day thread..." (Ohhh, OK, its close...)
OK...you get the point..

what are you doing up so early/late Gary?
Bomelia. I just read all four of your replies to the 4 threads you are currently 'on' for right now. You are sounding a little bit cranky. What's the matter?

You are all up early this morning. Earl I can understand as he is working. Mike probably got up to see if he had snow or not. Kristen, I hope that Pepe makes it home on time. If not, buy a GT-40 for the Austin thing.

tru hasn't been here in awhile. Is he ignoring the thread?
I was up because I couldn't sleep! Finally fell asleep at about 5:15. Just in time for the alarm at 6! It's gonna be a long day. again. the sink is still dripping from a hose underneath. big hassle. called the plumber yesterday, and he 'fixed' it. yup. have already called him back today, with the exact description of how wet my socks were when I stood in front of the sink!
yesterday was worse; hubby accidentally 'busted' the fish bowl, that was sitting on the counter. Saved the fish. a gallon of water running down the counter, running down the side to the shelf with cookbooks, etc. So, not only had to slop up the water, but 'disinfect' as it's fishy water! gggrrrr. It's wednesday. should be thrilled, but noooo, not scrapbooking today!!!
gotta go.
not buying a gt40. been in one. too tight, enclosed. I want Winkleman's old 289. I did not know he was selling! !!
