Have not slept for 48 hours. Most excellent young friend attempted suicide twice in 4 hours.

Once drug, once knife.

Never been here before..

I hate being helpless.

She's in ICU, second day.

I'm 'way over my head, UT has never had to take on something like this.

Advice? Point me. I got my phone, my cell phone, and my friends here at CC.

I'm sorry.

Grown men don't cry- BS.

UT:
Get her into professional therapy. No reflection on you but you aren't equipped or trained to handle this kind of thing once it gets to this point.
Unfortunately all you can do at this point is offer moral support and be there if she needs any outside assistance but again,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, get a professional involved.
One of the hardest things an adult has to do is realize that all they can do is to set the best example they can for the young ones and hope it takes. Sometimes it does and sometimes it doesn't but there's no way they can be sure it will.

UT, my heart goes out to you....all I can tell you is from my many (27+) years as an LEO most suicide attempts are a "CRY" for help in the early stages of depression. (Most of those in the advance stages are the ones that actually do it, bar the few accidental ones that wanted help but went too far). I hope you can provide your friend with the needed help and things work out for you both.

Unhappy

Ut,

I had promised Mike to not post to this thread again but scr-- that. Having been to that point not once but twice, I can tell you that depression is one of the worst things that I can imagine happening to anyone. Fortunately I was under a doctors care in the hodspital both times, and my priest was there and I honestly never did know what I did until days later when they felt I was stable enough to know. I know you have did your best and that is all God asks and all you can do. and I also know that this does not help a darn bit. But I have been praying for you and things will get better. I still have times that I really think about it, but I guess that when my mind is clear enough for me to think, my Catholic belifs take over. I would never do it if I had control of my faculties. Do not give up and if you ever want to just talk or unload on anyone you have my e-mail address. I find that unloading everything on a person that you trust is a big help and I drive my priest up the walls at times.

God Bless and we are all praying for you and your young friend.

Ron

Ut, There will be several people offering advice. I believe most will offer support.

I will throw my two cents in and say, be positive and be supportive. Try to understand why this has happened.

We, I and other members of your cobra family, will offer our prayers and support as much as we can. We can only hope that this youngster finds her way.

Cool

Well I got my new gas powered weed eater today and it passes the Calif. emissions test. Has the sticker and everything right on it. Unlawful to remove or I can't operate it in the state without having it smogged.

Ron
Oh yea, for Baby Mike and Tru, the forecast for the rest of the weekend and into next week is for it to be in the mid to upper 70s. Really nice right now with just a light wind blowing and it is in the low 60s.

Talking

Mike,

You just had to put your Spring off another month or so again didn't you. In todays paper and news here.

New cold front moving into Eastern states. Will bring snow, sleet, freezing rain, (thought that was sleet), with lows possible in the low teens. Wow, you lucky guy. You won't even have to run your air conditioner for another couple of months.

And here I am going to be in the heat mowing, weed eating, and drinking water by the gallon to avoid heat strokes.

Ron

Gee Mike,

To bad about that weather report but I wouldn't get to upset about it. So far I think our people have been correct maybe three times the past year. That being said, prepare for the worst blizzard in 100 years.

Just had a great idea. Maybe I can sell my weed eater smog exempt sticker to one of the Cobra guys.

I think I'll move to South-Eastern Texas when im older, wouldn't have to worry about snow then.

I would have to worry about hurricanes instead.

Tomorrow, (Saturday) should be the last of the rain So-Cally for at least a week, with temps headed into the 80's by next weekend.

Edley,

We have already started getting the warmer weather here. It was in the 70s yesterday and is supposed to be in the upper 70s and low 80s next week. Really great driving weather if I were able.

Ron And NO SNOW
