Steve- that is hilarious. Glad you didn't keel over on the spot... that would be quite the ironic story, all over the evening news....

Thought you would like to know I have only backed the trailer up once. At the goodyear tire store to get the tire repaired, and a new spare. After I did it once, the worker dudes offered to do it the next time! I do not know how you got it in the drive, so far back that day. Quite impressive. I only pull forward. No backwards for me!! I pull in the far drive, park in front of the house, up close, load the car, and pull out the other drive. I believe Matt has backed it up at a TCC function. To get gas, I plot the whole location ahead of time, to avoid any backing. Kinda scary. I do not want to know what is going on back there.
I hauled it to Tulsa, right after I got it. Hauled it to Motorsport Ranch in Sept. Hauled it to TMS in October, and now to Austin. In June, back to Tulsa, and then maybe to Ohio. Still don't know about that one..... I hope your situation is improving. Glad to have you on the forum. I seem to be the 'resident' magpie.....

I don't need to mow, but I need to do some dishes and put some clothes in the dryer!!! We have our roles defined around here.... Your cough and headache are from the 'mountain cedar' crap floating around! And all the oaks are starting to drop their junk. It never ends.

Tru- didn't arrive today, but it will at some point, and all is fine.....

Ron- after the big bust can't you sneak down there, collect any of the drug stuff and sell it on the black market?? Make enough quick cash to go get that new 'stang you're looking at???

Weird that it is wet and frozen where you are tru. Windy as all get out here.
I 'wasted' the day, and only scrapbooked 2 pages. big whoo.

Course, that was after dragging son #2 to dr. at 8:15 this a.m. to find out he has strep. Picked up son #1 at school at 1 and started him on antibiotic for strep, too. With hubby and boys leaving for Colo. on sat., we were 'smart' and got everybody fixed up!! I am SO GLAD I'm not going to colo., but off to WARM, SUNNY Florida, right Earl?? hmmm. speaking of Earl.... where is that guy??? hasn't posted all day.....
and where's Mike? I probably hurt big Mike's feelings the other day.... Come back, Mike!! and Mike Z. haven't seen him in a few days. And wondering about UT, and his tragic, difficult situation.

Guess I'll go see what' going on in the lounge, as I came straight to here tonight. Missed you boys....

I can't wait to mow again, (not being sarcastic. )

Ron, speaking of the black market, how much you want for that industrialized-superdouperturbosupercharged unidentified flying object in your back yard. I bid a quarter.

Ok, is it just me or are all of you people suddenly trying to out do me with having things go wrong. Steve, years ago I had my doctor get me a blood pressure tester and it worked great. I have never had a problem with that but because of my nerves he wanted me to monitor it. I haven't had it out for years now. Did two or three types tests.

Kristen,

Simple solution for your backing problem. Really isn't hard once you get the hang of it. Take the trailer to a big EMPTY parking lot or somewhere and put up some cones and then try backing and watch how it reacts to diffferent turning of the wheel. Once you have did it a few times it isn't hard. And there is the KIDDIE solution. Put a hitch on the back and go around and pull it from that end when you want it in a place that you would have to back.

Steve,

Hope that you are feeling better by now. Mike, on your way to cut my grass, go by and cut Steve's. He may even pay you.

Big drug raid went on for over 5 hours yesterday and now the city is going to get involved and I think try to condem that house. The city inspector called me yesterday afternoon and said he was coming over today and look at everyting. The peoperty has been up for sale ever since the last of the brothers that owned it went to jail a few months ago. But they will never sell it in this mess. I still think the seizure and forefiture law is the way to go now. I will be talking to a couple of our drug enforcement officers today as they are wanting to know just how much traffic has been in and out of there the past month. So they are canvassing the neighborhood asking all the people around here. It would be nice to see that mess gone for good. Then I could go back to just carrying my 9MM instead of it and the machine gun.

Well, if it goes above frezing, the snow ( we got more last night ) melts and turns to water. Then, the temp drops ( like two days ago ) to 10 to 20 degrees and it freezes again. Hey, welcome to Michigan.

Had to buy a tire yesterday. The pot hole are so bad, I damaged the side wall on a huge hole.

Tru,

Fill the pot hole with water and then when it freezes just slide across it.

We had some that were so bad people threatened to sue the city so they came and threw a few shovel fulls of asphalt in them. Won't last a week but sure helps now as they covered half the street. Our streets are so bad it is going to take a 4 wheel drive to use them soon if something isn't done. City is broke of course, but just spent over $100K for a clock and water fall and flowers down on the main drag.

Kristen,
Here is a tip on backing your trailer from a novice trailer backer.

Found it really helped me.

Put your hand on the bottom of the wheel to steer while backing.
Your hand moves left, the trailer backs left.

Kristen,

Fred's suggestion is avery good one. And one other thing that I am not sure if anyone has mentioned, is that it may take some time to get used to the depth perception behind the trailer, so make sure that you take that into account when practicing. And only practice will make it easy, but once you get it down it will be no harder than driving forward. However I have noticed that some people seem to have trouble doing that also.

Guess what just arrived in the driveway????!!!!!
yup, you guessed it! The truck and trailer!!! yea!!!! Now I can load it up for Austin..... yea!!!!! Yes, Fred, Gary told me about the steering from the bottom thing. I have no intention of practicing, because I am not going to back it up!! Ever! We have a nice big circle drive, and it works just fine..... Guess it'll sit there for a whole week. Kinda weird to have it sitting out there all loaded, but oh wellllll.... Then I'll be ready to haul outta here on Thursday or Friday.... getting exciting!!
IF i go to Ohio, Mike gets the first ride with me! No birthday spankings from me, probably a lawsuit there...

Tru: got it today...... more in a pm.
gotta go. more later!!!

Kristen

If I remember right you need to trim some trees before the trailer will make the circle.

Cool

Kristen,

Pictures before you crash the trailer please.

Mike,

Something for you to remember when you are married.

Subject: Jail
A woman awakes during the night to find that her
husband was not in their bed. She puts on her robe
and goes downstairs to look for him.
She finds him sitting at the kitchen table with a hot
cup of coffee in front of him. He appears to be in
deep thought, just staring at the wall.
She watches as he wiped a tear from his eye and takes
a sip of his coffee.
"What's the matter, dear?", she whispers as she steps into the room,"Why are you down here at this time of night?"
The husband looks up from his coffee, "Do you remember
20 years ago when we were dating, and you were only
16?" he asks.
The wife is thinking that her husband is so caring and sensitive.
"Yes I do" she replies. The husband paused. The words were not coming easily.
"Do you remember when your father caught us in the
back seat of my car making love?"
"Yes, I remember" said the wife, lowering herself into a chair beside him.
The husband continued... "Do you remember when he shoved the shotgun in my face and said, "Either you marry my daughter, or I will send you to jail for 20 years"?
"I remember that too" she replied softly."
He wiped another tear from his cheek and said..... "I
would have gotten out today."

Yeah Ron,

And I bet if someone really said that to his wife he would spend the next month in the hospital - if he survived.
