I have two of the eight things fixed. Blykins told me the rear axel seal was a 30 minute job, I haven't verified his beliefs.

I am going to add the switched reverse trick to the list as it looks like I might have help.

I had no idea the bottom of my car was so dirty. I think I am going to get the pressure washer running and spray the bottom off.

Weather's been in the mid thirties at night and 50s to 60s during the day.

The platform is great! I can slide under the car and get at stuff without having to suck in twenty years of pizzas.

That nice looking red lift you have in your garage is the same thing as I have, only mine is wood and sectional.

So, I believe you are going for the Guiness book of "most times mowed" lawn.

Looking forward to seeing people in London. My wife has just about killed the Penn trip as we got the College bill for my older son. Damn, I wish I had the money. Well, it is the challenges of life that make living fun.

When it is front of you, you need to grab on with both hands!

I am hoping I will have all but the axel done this weekend.

G2G!!!

Tru,

That nice looking red lift I have was a big break for me. I had been looking for something that I could get the car up on, and this outfit had just started up. So when I talked to them, they sold me one for a very low price if I would take some pictures of the car on it and let them show them at car shows. I even got the bridge and bottle jack free. But I love it. The lift is 20" high and with the car on it I can sit up in most places under it to work. Took me 20 minutes from the time I took the boot off untilI had the transmission on the work bench once. A guy that I knew here built one with heavy wood and he measured mine and it worked just as well as mine. Only he is a retired machinist and he went a little farther than I would have. He cut through his garage floor and put in hydraulic jacks on each side so all he had to do was push a button and it would lift the front up. But he can't widen his or move them like I can to work on other cars.
Sounds as if your weather is on the way to getting better. What is the switched reverse trick? Good luck on the axel seal.

Ron

It was a confsring and frustrating day.

Woke up with a cold. Bad.

Girl at school is confusing me. HUH?

Someone stole parts off of my carburetor. GRRRRRR. BAD.

Got 6 A's on my report card. Good.

Got my radio fixed. Good.

My ears been poped for 3 hours. Bad

Going to the drags Sunday. Good.

Was this a good or bad day? I'm confused and don't know what to make of it.

If you are talking about a car lift I have one.

It is Rotary 7,000 I think. It may be a 9,000. I am not sure

It will pick up my F250 4x4 no problem.

Subject: Why men are happier

Men Are Just Happier People-- What do you expect from such simple creatures? Your last name stays put. The garage is all yours. Wedding plans take care of themselves. Chocolate is just another snack.

You can be President. You can never be pregnant. You can wear a white T-shirt to a water park. You can wear NO shirt to a water park. Car mechanics tell you the truth.

The world is your urinal. You never have to drive to another gas station restroom because this one is just too icky. You don't have to stop and think of which way to turn a nut on a bolt.
Same work, more pay.
Wrinkles add character. Wedding dress $5000. Tux rental-$100. People never stare at your chest when you're talking to them.

The occasional well-rendered belch is practically expected. New shoes don't cut, blister, or mangle your feet. One mood all the time.
Phone conversations are over in 30 seconds flat.
You know stuff about tanks.
A five-day vacation requires only one suitcase. You can open all your own jars. You get extra credit for the slightest act of thoughtfulness.

If someone forgets to invite you, he or she can still be your friend.

Your underwear is $8.95 for a three-pack. Three pairs of shoes are more than enough. You almost never have strap problems in public. You are unable to see wrinkles in your clothes. Everything on your face stays its original color.
The same hairstyle lasts for years, maybe decades.
You only have to shave your face and neck.

You can play with toys all your life. Your belly usually hides your big hips. One wallet and one pair of shoes one color for all seasons. You can wear shorts no matter how your legs look. You can "do" your nails with a pocket knife. You have freedom of choice concerning growing a mustache.

You can do Christmas shopping for 25 relatives on December 24 in 25 minutes.

No wonder men are happier

hey, Steve. Yeah, I've been talking about a lift since before Christmas. Ron (ron61) has one in his gallery I like. Tom Meadows also has one, and that seems to be the one most likely to fit my needs. It's called a 'quiklift' or something like that. email or post pictures of yours. Is it for sale???
the quiklifts aren't very tall, raises the car enough to roll under to clean up, check bolts etc.

I'm also going to get new tires. I can no longer put my tires on the track. Of course I'll take them to a shop to put them on the wheels and car. My Christmas present from hubby was supposed to be the lift, and jack and tools, etc. Haven't gotten around to it yet, but will shortly.

rotary 7000 or 9000? Is that a full lift, like the pic on the left of this page with the silver cobra on it?? I don't want a fullsize lift, tho.

I'lll be out alllll day, (at the Jubilee-fair in Terrell) so I'll check ya'll later.....

Ron. Haven't read the thing about happy men, I'll do it later, and reply when I have more time!

Mike.

If your ears have been popped, and you're going to the drags on Sunday, you need to take extra care with earplugs. Your hearing will be damaged if you don't take care!!

(Just the mother thing, you know.... )

Believe me, you will be surprised at how quickly 50 can get here. I couldn't wait to be 21 so I could get a drivers license and now I can't rememberever having been that young.

Mike, you are experiencing 'vertigo'. Or rather, the lack of balance. With your ears all messed up, your balance is off. Did you bust your head open, or break the tile in the shower???

It also is a side affect of pregnancy.

If a pregnant person gets up too quickly, all the blood rushes to the head, one gets the feeling of 'vertigo', and bam, dizzy, nauseated, and hit the deck.... 'thar she goes' is a common phrase relating to women in this predicament.

let's hope it is example 1 not 2 in your instance.

or, is that the 'problem' you're having with 'the girl at school?

Talking glad you're better, and glad your not pg

here are some photos from the show today in Terrell, my hubby's hometown. We lived there for 15 years or so, and when my youngest finishes school we will live and die in 'big T'. Lucky me.

the show was ok. about 150 cars. I was number 145. got there really really late. (opening day of baseball in Terrell, had to go watch the 'first pitch yada yada yada... )
so, most of the participants had already voted. Needless to say, I didn't win anything. Had fun tho'. gave my mother in law a ride for the first time. Let several folks take pics of their kids, etc., in it. Should have sold photos for charity.....

one of my best 'old' friends has 2 sons in college. They didn't believe her when she told them I had a 'shelby cobra'. They were sure it was a mustang cobra, or something... so, took her pic in the cobra, so she can 'prove' it to them! Fun!
Was told the stupidest story I ever heard at a car show. will post it on that other 'dumb comments' thread.... I mean sooo stupid.

I kinda got sunburned. Have forgotten to put sunscreen in my bag. It will go in there now, since this is 'show season'. got AER coming up on May 7. We'll be there at 8 am, and leave around 5. That is my mother's day present. wow. good one!!!!

my girls--

mother in law-- a saint in my life....

Mike, call your Dr. and tell him or her what happened. Trust me buddy....may have been vertigo, but you need to get it checked out. Anytime you lose consciousness, it needs to be investigated.
