Hi all, just checking in. It's been a "rough" week, been sick all week. Not sure if it is a virus or related to the surgery. Went to the Doc on Thursday to have the remaining staples removed and he put me on an antibiotic ($58 for 4 pills, ouch). Yesterday felt pretty good, today yucky again. Oh well, I'm just thankful for my family and realize it could be a lot worse. Ya'll have a good day, Earl

glad you're up to posting, Earl. I'd noticed you hadn't been around lately. I'm concerned about Ron. He hasn't posted in days, that means he isn't feeling any too well, either.
Hot as heck here. Ran a few errands this morning, got ballet recital in a little while. 2 baseball games this evening. 6 & 8. Will hurry to the six oclock one after recital. Don't think I'll stay for the 8. Too hard on the girls to be dragging around like that. It'll still be plenty hot at 6! Full day tomorrow. Visited with my scrapbook buddy from about 9-11:30. (last night) Didn't work on one page. Did enjoy the social time and glass of wine! My friends are getting jobs, and this is really crimping my social calendar.
I do not want to get a job!! I'll volunteer anytime, but real working?? not me!!! been there, done that
#2 son wants the computer.
oh well, gotta get my 'refreshments' and the girls ready for recital and reception. seeya much much later.
Pretty quiet around CC on this Saturday afternoon.
Kristen

Kristen,
Tires look nice. What did you mean by scraping off the lettering?
I have been feeling a little rough, but mainly had company. A cousin that I haven't seen or heard from for 55 years and his wife came out and spent three days. He lives in Arkansas and found me by the picture of the 69 Cobra in Hot Rod Magazine. So I have been taking them around and showing them some of the area. They left about 2 hours ago to start back and are taking a long swing through the middle of the country. He said every year they take off and do a lot of traveling. He is a mechanic and car nut and teaches at the College of the Ozarks back there. Really was nice finally finding out that I have two living relatives. But I am tired and kind of worn ut as we were on the go a lot. I am to old for that kind of action often.

glad you're doing ok, ron. yeah, company can wear you out.
tru. what is 'the oil place'? what is Woodward??? description, please!!!
wonderful ballet recital. made it a bit late to the first ball game. ugh. lost 17-1. My son scored the only run. (He made a single, stole around, and got batted in) tough game.
He pitched, and couldn't consistently find the plate. Off and on. 4th pitcher by 3rd inning. Everybody having trouble. 2nd game going on now. we came home. (girls and I)
the boys are winning, 4-2. Little more even playing field, I guess. Don't know if son pitches or not. they will also play tomorrow..... only tournament of the season, so guess I don't mind the sunday playing too much.
gotta go! more later
oh, Ron. those are pictures of the old tires!!!!
the new tires are now mounted, but they come from the factory with ugly sprayed on paint over the 'goodyear eagle' edging. Looks crappy. so, the 'right' thing to do is to take a good orange cleaner, and scrape, brush off the factory spray on paint, then re-letter the goodyear, eagle with acrylic paint, with a paintbrush. I will take before and after pics in a bit. Show you what I mean.
gotta go get the girls in bed.
Kristen

AHHHHHH
Just came inside. I have been outside all day and whew was it hot. Not by usual standards in Texas but hot enough. I washed my truck today, detail clean, four and a half hours. The truck was not that clean when it was new. We are taking it on the trip and I wanted it to shine.
Our daughter "Shelby" had her final softabll game this evening. We won but it was a very poorly ref'ed game. I 'll spare you the details. Lets just say I was ticked off more than once.
Now at home feet proped up and enjoying the a/c. It was only 101* I know that it will get alot worse here but it has been so pleasant so far this year. It was only 82* yesterday and 101* today. I guess I am getting soft in my old age.
Hey, I ain't that old...... 43
Ron: Earl:
You two guys need to take it easy for a while. Goodness why do you two push yourself so hard. I am one to talk..
We are off to to see the wizard on Monday so you guys will have to hold down the fort. I know you can, you did it well before I found this place. I kinda like it here.
See you Sunday after church!
Kristen:
I'll try that. I have tried everything else.
If it makes you feel any better "Shelby" is looking over my shoulder telling me I can't spell worth a flip. Geez, I get it at both ends.

Steve,
Have a great trip and we will be looking forward to reports when you get back. As for pushing myself, at my age and physical condition you have to push or you never get anything done. But I doubt mowing today as it is already warm this morning and my right hip has that nerve pinched so bad it hurts all the way down into my foot and I have to kind of drag the leg to walk. Maybe a little to much going and running around while my cousin was here with not much rest in between. He is about 10 years younger than me and I didn't know 10 years could make such a difference.
Kristen,
Now I understand about the tires. I think the factory just sprays the white on and hope it hits the letters. By the time you get through working on the tires, you will be to tired to drive the car so they should look nice for a long time.
Ron

Steve,
Did you find any caves/caverns you are going to check out on the trip ?
Sounds like like a fun time going to Yellowstone. Never been there but have heard alot of good things.
Are you taking the cute little puppy from next door with you to scare the bears/wolves away ???
Have a fun/safe trip !!!

What is Woodward? Hmmmmm....
Well, I would have to say that Woodward is a connective street between down-town Detroit and Pontiac. It is the original Hot Rod cruising BLVD. From the late fifties when guys from the Mound Road Engine plant would race down Woodward, to the late sixties and into the seventies when people used to race and meeting the opposite sex. By far, I think most car magazines cover now the "Woodward Dream Cruise". A weekend when a bunch, 250,000, cars travel up and down Woodward to race, thump and show-off. Woodward was the street to be on when I was a kid in the early seventies.
The oil place is a local oil change shop that does all of our vehicles, except the cobra and the tractors. They do a good job and I know the manager, so I did a promo by parking the clean shinny cobra out in front of the shop to get attention for the shop. There is a competing shop across the street. Even they came over to look at the car.
So Kristen, My wife thinks it is great that you run around in your cobra. So, now I am going to be giving her pointers on mine.
Sounds like you have some good stuff there with the only run and the recital.
It is raining and I have to replace the alternator on the cobra, it rattled apart inside. Weird.

Went to Carlisle today... I was feeling better.
I think I saw 6 Cobras that weren't under cover.
Talked dad into dyno testing his Mustang... 221 Peak HP ( ) 261 Peak torque. ( )
I have 2 video clips of the run (sounds sweet!) all I need now is to figure out how to post a video clip on the net... (Ron/Ron )

$75 for 3 pulls.
'll try to get guidence on how to post video clips... sounds great with the flowmasters! There were about 7-8 people around the dyno after the first pull.

Mike,
I am pretty sure that you can't post a video clip directly on the club site as they take up so much band width. You will need to find a server that you can post it on and then link to that URL. I may be wrong and if so, Ron(CW) will certainly correct me.

took a few minutes to download, (and I had to 'trust' that you weren't downloading a virus!!)..... cool sounding!!!!
Is the 'flowmaster's' what throws in that deep growly sound about halfway thru the pull? Sounds neat!
good job. I sure wouldn't know how to do that!!!

It took some random tinkering to figure out how to post it, I'm still in shock that I did it myself!
The flows' give it that deep throaty sound, now I have to talk dad into getting headers!

Good job Mike.
I had never heard of the place that you used to post the clip. But for a little kid you are getting pretty smart. Won't be long now until you can take the training wheels off your tricycle.
