Ported heads....maybe....stroker....definitely not. I want a revvy engine this time. My little SB stroker is a small bore, long stroke....it makes all it's gonna make at 5400 rpm. I want a revver this time. A 4.128" bore with a 3.98" should fit the bill with high compression and a big cam.
The cam I'm looking at is a solid flat tappet cam.... .605 lift.
I love that hard hitting high compression sound. Just don't know if it's worth the extra 15-20 hp and the sound for all the gas crap I'll have to go through.
With that cam and aluminum heads I can get 11:1 on pump gas according to the dynamic CR figures....
I just don't know if that's thumpy enough for me.

Go for it and don't look back. If worst comes to worst you'll have to put octane booster in the fuel. I like the cam you chose... but... remember, more is better and two is better than one.

yup, I'm leaving in the morning!
I'm soo tired!!! but, yeah, I'm going!
spent the day doing the memorial/funeral stuff. Lent my suburban last night, so they could cart all the out of town family to the chapel. It was quite large. He was a full professor at SMU, and it was standing room only, at Perkins Chapel on campus. I was in charge of looking for and selecting the guests books. Put them out today, and collected them at the end of the service. Hubby and I got all the flower arrangements and put them in my old car and took them to the house. unloaded, etc. Hung around til my 'real' car showed up! Got home around 5:30. started packing the trunks. they are packed, down to toothbrushes and money. Weird getting that ready for Sunday. Scout shirts, cots, and trunks by the back door, ready to go. Have explained their stuff. This is old hat, as they've been doing camp for several years. Have left the list of activities, (spend the nights, birthday party, softball practice, etc) on the kitchen counter for hubby. hmm. basketball tournament friday and saturday at 7. on and on. Haven't done the dishes from tonight. leftovers from casserole last night. housekeeper can do them tomorrow!
Need to go pack my bag. makeup bag in the morning. Leave at 6:30. maybe 7. wing it tomorrow in Columbus!!!!!
Can not find trularin's phone number. he emailed it to me, and i can't find it. If anybody knows it, please p.m. me. I do have Rick's..... I might hide out at hotel tomorrow afternoon, to take a nap! hook up at QSL, early dinner. Saturday is the fun parade into town. I have a late (7 pm) flight home on Sunday. wanted to watch some of the autocross. I think I lay over somewhere. Don't know what time I'll get home. Guess I better get off the computer and get my stuff together! It's already 10.....
ticket, bag, $$, camera. seeya in a few days!

Kristen,
Why nervous? Go, have a great time, relax and enjoy everything. Then when you get home from this maybe things will slow down a little for you. I think that you need a vacation where all you do is sit around and read or rest. No rushing to get here or there. ENJOY!!!!!

And still counting.
Granted, most of these are very small and not even noticed but so far this week Calif. has had 413 quakes ans still two days to go.

Look up Keith Craft web site for some great engine info. I sent you an e-mail, please take heed Keith builds some MONSTER engines that run on pump gas. The HP will get your attention in one great big blinking hurry. The ones I have heard run will make your heart skip a beat, and still run on pump gas.

99* today level red air polution and I have to mow the grass. I think Ron's rock idea is sounding better for me as well. I am still fighting these stupid merchant account clowns for my website. The hold up is killing me. The two new minuature schnauser pups are growing like weeds and never sleep. We have had them almost a week now and the house training is going surprisingly well, knock on wood. The barking monster next door has been banned to the garage by the county. Don't ask!

Steve,
Ah, for the good old days of mowing. It is so hot here now that everything but the weeds are dead. Enjoy yourself.
SIGNS YOU MAY BE GETTING TO OLD TO DRIVE:::
The strange rattling in the front end of the car is you.
Your car is recalled by the Holy Roman Empire
You're pulled over by a troooper out for a stroll
The last car you passed had four flats

Your license plate numbers are Roman Numerals
Your car has more drips than a family reunion
You drive in for a tune up, and they do you before the car.

Remember that Diesel Hot Rod I wanted to build? Heres a pic of what I want to start out with, a 1941-1945 International K-8:
Imagine it Chrome trim Items, light housings, bumpers, and painted in that nice Blue Audi has, and a twin turbo powerstroke diesel with a 6 speed and a gear venders overdrive. Oh, and stainless exahust exiting in front of the rear wheels.

Hey Ron, I hear Clorox toilet bowl cleaner (the gel stuff) will kill foliage if you can't get any of the good stuff. Evidently the gel makes it stick and the chemical kills them off.

Brent,
I will try some of the Clorox toilet bowl cleaner. I just came in from raking a few of the old dead rose bush sticks up and it is only 84 here right now but so humid I was getting sick. I almost had to cut my clothes off they were so stuck on by sweat. I am most definately through with working in the yards and upper lot for today. It is even to humid for me to want to get the 69 Cobra out and I was going to drive it today. I guess I will do it next week. Darn weather goes from cold to so hot and humid you can't enjoy it.
I am trying to find a picture that I can use of my Cobra to cut out and use it to make it look like I have it on the Sun Dial Bridge.

You know all those clusters of earthquakes in the most southern part of the map. That's where I am. Half way between the line of four blue squares by the Salton Sea and the border.
Your Cobra on the bridge. You should do a pic with the two facing each other.

Brent,
If you are half way between all of the quakes, you may wind up as an island.
I might try doing that on a picture if I can find one that would work out correctly. I put the replica on an iceberg once and you should have heard the people asking how I ever got traction to drive it up on the flat spot.

Half way between the blue quakes and the Mexican border 150 feet BELOW sea level. We will be a lake!
Did you use studded tires or just have posi to get on the iceberg.
Mine is still flat primer black. I tell people it is the same paint they use on the F117 so the police can't clock me. You wouldn't believe haw many people fall for it.

Roof issue.....Steve, I should have been a little more specific....I can get a shingle roof with regular shingles in about 3 weeks or upgraded architecural ones in about 5 weeks.....the contractor I found will be installing a Grand Rib 3 metal roof that is why the wait...he is really backed up...said he would do his best to get me worked in quicker....and his price was only several hundred more than the shingle price, soooooo, hopefully I can wait and get the metal roof done.
Ron
Stay out of that heat.............we need you around here to keep things going and lively.................

Ok Earl
If you can get a metal roof for a little more than shingles I'd wait too. Make sure the screws have rubber washers and not paper ones and make sure they use plenty of them as well.
Mike,
I saw a truck at a car show in Fort Worth one time that was really neat. It was a big truck like that one you posted and had a twin turbo 7.3 diesel in it. Dually abd all. Prettiest color orange I have ever seen in my life. It won everything in the show, and rightfully so.
Ron
Do I need to send you some ice tea?
