Brent,
I could almost guarantee you that if i were in your bathroom more than 10 minutes I would manage to drop something or knock it off a shelf and crack at least two tiles.
Yes, we have your darn heat. Has been 111/114 the last two days with the normal humidity. Even the Comet sweats and it is under the car port out of the direct sun. Neighbor went fishing with his girl friend yesteday and said it was really hot even up in the canyons on the lake and the fish would not come out of the water at all. I proposeda huge thermal blanket to keep the heat down in your area and even our people here didn't think that was a bad idea.
I kind of like one of Albert Einsteins (spelling) lines. I know not what weapons World War 3 will be fought with but World War 4 will be fought with sticks and stones.
When Steve moves to Oregon, he will be close enough that I will try to go up to meet him and get aquainted. Just a 12 hour plane flight from here.

Steve,
I received this from a friend who was born in Oregon and is a teacher down here now. She said pass it on to you.
Four Little Animals
(You've got to love this little girl. What a woman she'll make!)
A teacher asked her class, "What do you want out of life?"
A little girl in the back row raised her hand and said, "All I want out
of life is four little animals, just like my Mom always says".
The teacher asked, "Really, and what four little animals would that be?"
The little girl said, "A mink on my back, a jaguar in the garage, a
tiger in the bed and a jackass to pay for all of it."
The teacher fainted.

Steve. we're gonna miss you down here! I read all your thread in the nw forum. I'm trying to get my brother 'hooked up' with some of the activities going on in the Seattle area- so have been looking at the events there. saw your thread. Funny thing, he'll probably move down here. He is missing our family.

We are really excited about this, if we can pull it off. We just need to find a place, and find a city to land in. We will more than likely lease for a year to get acquainted with each town before we buy or build.
I got away with a lot as a child. My dad really watched me to keep me outta trouble. I really respected him and did not want to embarress him so most of the stuff we did was in other towns with other friends. I never really got into much trouble, except when I was taken to jail, when I was seven years old.
I was riding my mini bike around our block and this old hag kept telling me to go away. My dad was working on our car in the driveway so I told him everytime I came around what she had said and done. He told me to keep haveing fun and not to worry about her. I went around again and the police were in the middle of the side walk waiting for me. They chased me down and gave me the third degree. Like the smarta$$ I was I refused to tell them who I was or where I lived. So off I went. As we passed our house my mom was standing on the front porch with two glasses of tea for me and dad. She about fainted when she saw me in the back of the car going down the road. Of coarse they did not stop and I didn't say a word. When we got to the station they took me to the chief, which was my dad's best friend. We were talking and the loudest noise I have ever heard in my life started coming from the lobby of the station. One of the police officers that picked me up asked what in the world is all that noise in there.
The chief said calmly "That'd be his dad, and from the sounds of it he's pissed"
Needless to say I recieved a chewing from dad for not telling them who I was. But those two policemen will NEVER forget my name. My dad made sure of that.
From then on I knew if I ended up in jail he would kill me. (not literally) so I behaved like I should.
My grocery getter is an F250 4 x 4 Platinum Superduty. Nice truck! My wife drives a Cadillac STS I bought new for her, for her birthday. I also have a New Holland TC45 4 x 4 farm tractor that I love to play with.

Sunday morning starting off as a normal day for me. Back hurt all night so not much sleep. Decided to give my little dogs a much needed bath. Gave Teddy his and started to use the sprayer to wash the shampoo offand the darn end flew off. Still can't figure out just what holds it together as it seems there is no screws or clamps. Now when the hardware store opens I have to go see if they have a new one in stock that will work with those old faucets. I think I changed that one once before but can't remember. It will really kill my back as I will have to lay under the sink in the cabinet and of course it has a board across the front that is about 1/2" high and hits right on the two vertebrae that are slipped. I do not feel like doing anything but laying down and this last week of 118/112 temperatures with humidity has really got me where I don't even want to move. Darn, Tru, I am starting to miss the rain. I am missing anything that is below 100 degrees. Don't want to have to call a plumber to fix this sink as I hate to pay $175 dollars for a 5 minute job.

somebody in our house had a 30th high school anniversary this weekend. hahaha. He stayed out all night friday; spent the night at some friends house. Last night we went to the 'couples' party. funny looking at the pictures from 10 year reunion, then 20 year reunion. I think I gained 10 pounds from each one. I gained 2 kids between each! Got home about 1 am. slept late. (I don't do that much). hubby watching the british open. guess we're skipping church. haven't been to our church in 6 weeks or so.
hubby had strep and a sinus infection while in colorado. he's getting better. i'm still unpacking stuff, and of course the car is one big gross dust bowl. A darling little stray dog greeted us when we got home. He now knows how to use the doggie door, and plays great with the other dogs. We don't really want another dog, but.... we'll make signs this afternoon, and post them, but if no one claims him, I guess we'll keep him.
I've named him 'buck'.
Things are winding down for ME now. yeah, i have projects, but all my fun for the summer is done. (all my fun trips). now we have football camp x 2, ballet camp, and a little later, mini cheer camp x 2.
I got a good bit of scrapbooking done this weekend. While in colorado, i got 7 pages done- of London, Ohio- and pretty much finished that album. I'm very pleased with the book. I have the next one ready to go. Pretty funny that the car book is up to date, but none of the others are!! On the 'old' books, I'm in 1991. ugh. 'new' books, 2002.
sorry for the rambling. bored, a bit. yeah, lots to do, but don't want to!
my cobra is still muddy/shoe polished from TULSA!!!
one morning I will get up very early and start cleaning it up. Gotta get it all fresh and pretty for the August meet. Will probably paint the pipes with the VHT paint again. After all that mud sitting on there for 5-6 weeks, it'll probably scrub off, but leave stains. I can't wait til the 'season' starts up again. Sometime around the end of September is another event at Texas Motor Speedway. Now that my speedo works, and with the new tires, I think I'll give it another try! The garage looks so grubby. spider webs, dirt, grass clippings, etx. too hot to do any cleaning.
Ron, sorry about your plumbing situation. Put the doggies in the shower with you, and rinse off all the soap. Get the fixture fixed after you feel a bit better.
Hey, Trularin. what's up with the axle?
I think my brother might just be moving to Texas. Which hopefully means he would probably go with me to London next year. I would pull my car, with a co-pilot. I'll keep ya posted.
Oh well, guess I'll pop around the forum a bit, and see what's up.
seeya.
Kristen

Kristen,
Boy, are you ever going to get caught up. I found the spray hose at the hardware store but decided after looking at it instead of fighting with getting under there with my back the way it is I would just change the sprayer end as they are the exact same and the one that is on there I got at this store about 8 years ago and put on. Took about 5 minutes and no bending at all to take the new spray end off the new hose, remove the broken sprayer from the other hose and just put on the new sprayer. Now I have a brand new hose in thne drawer in case that one ever goes bad. Your car can't be any dirtier than mkne. I was out in the garage getting a wrench and noticed that I now have cob webbs on both of mine. I thought it was to hot in there for anything to live, let alone move around.

I had fun yesterday but am paying for it today - had a nice drive out to the
North Shore in the Cobra, made two skydives (first since January 31, 05),
nice ride back after paying $40 to fill it up and enjoyed our 85 deg weather
complete with trade winds. Today I woke up stiff as a board. Those 8 - 9 g
openings talked to me! Great landings and the new knee worked just fine.
Guess I'll wait until next Saturday to repeat this activity. Time to rest!

Monday,
Another day of heat and misery to get through. This heat wave has got to break one of these days. This is 14 straight days of this stuff and it is quickly getting old. By noon, no one is out doing anyting. People go to the stores to shop early and then stay all day as they are cool.

Believe it or not, I can relate. We have had nothing but high 80 to mid to high 90 for the past two weeks.
This is what happens when you pee in mother natures soup.
