Questions
Here's a couple of questions;
When I was over there I asked what I thought were some very basic questions about America and the flag.
I was amazed at how many different answers I got...
#1 How many stars on on the flag
#2 How many red and white bands are there
#3 What/where is the line between the north and south
#4 What is this line called..
Amazing answers

Thanks Fred
It was not a quiz night, but these questions and a variety of answers came up. It was interesting to learn some of the history.

The answers are gonna vary, depending on if you're from NORTH or SOUTH of the Mason Dixon line! I'm not sure what Ohioan's consider themselves; north or south.... north, probably.
Fred. I can't BELIEVE you haven't jumped in with a clever little comment to my post..... You're usually the first one......
hey. I'll be there Aug. 6 to get my cap. Sorry about July. Just didn't work out.... Are you gonna be at Ernie Bell's? It's only a few minutes from my house. (you can practically see my house from Hwy 80, and Beltline- you'll pass right by.... )

Wow, That sure was some interesting posts regarding AC units etc. I can
now see where proper set up can save a lot of $ and provide a higher degree of comfort. When I did the "Great Remodel" here we just added a fan to each
room - no AC - and that works very well here. Of course it almost never
hits 90 and we do have some good trade winds - most of the time.

Kristen,
Change the desperate house wife to Frantic Woman. They have some great T- Shirts out here that you can have anything printed on. Maybe I should think up something and send you one. Of course I would need to post the picture first as I am sure you wouldn't. Caps just don't get as much attention.
Steve,
I learned a lot from ouor discussion about the air conditoners and I have a couple of ideas that I may try today. One is the sun shade and I am thinking of one of those sprinkler hoses that they have for places where sprinklers don't work well. I could just lay it on the ground around the bottom of the unit and it would spray up and the unit should pull some of the misty water into the inside coils. And they don't use a lot of water as you can run them low pressure in case you have one that wants to go over into the neighbor's door.
392,
Do the life like rubber dolls with batteries count as toys? They will do about anything but talk.

Ron,
Do you have the sprinkler "hoses" out there. They are flat water hoses and have hundreds of holes one one side. You lay them flay on the graound and they spray up in the air.
If get one of those @$10.00 lay it around your unimt and turn it on. It will "mist" the area those work best of all. and they use very litttle water . What I have done in the past is fold over the hose when i use all I need to keep from spreading out 50' of hose. I guess you could keep laying it around the unit until it is used up as easily though.
Tru,
That is it. The whole idea is to keep the air moving. That will stop it from heating up and keep the air in the ducts confortable. That is the key.

Ron,
I wouldn't consider life like rubber dolls with batteries a toy.Sounds pretty serious.
Is there much training involved to operate safely ??
How about battery life ?
I don't think it would be right for Kristen to be running back and forth to the store for batteries instead of dealing with the task at hand.

Kristen, the male counter parts in your life are like fine wines. As they age, a smoother, finer experience is delivered with each sampling.
And, Although the bottle may be dustier on the older vintages, it may be taken as a sign that this is an adventure to savored for hours, not moments.
There ya go Kriten, a suitable explanation of men as they age. Unfortunately, I used it in a book and so it's a copyrighter to me, sort of.

Steve,
That is exactly the kind of hose I was talking about. I used to have one but the sun finally got it so hot one day it just ripped apart. I have had to replace my regular garden hose twice because the sun burns them just as if they were in a fire. I now keep some old cut up pants over them when they are wound on the hangers. I am going down to the hardware store when it opens and see if they have any of those sprinkler hoses in stock.
392,
How do you think I knew the Viagra doesn't do all it said it does. I put the batteries in and never could catch mine. Darn thing is still running I guess.

speaking of books. I wondered what the various responses would be...... I know you guys like a book..... Everybody said just what I thought they'd say... except Steve hasn't chimed in.... he won't say anything to me on this topic. And, that's ok.
rubber dolls. hmmphhh. For me or him???
Trularin, you conveyed the feeling and tone and the wording, actually, to what I thought you would. You're a poet and didn't know it....
Fred. toys. Now from you I would expect lots more comment....
Ron. rubber dolls. still can't imagine that one....
Flip. No comment.
Earl is still in bed with his lovely, recovering from his 7&7's!!!
hmm. Bernie. must be 'sleeping on it' over on the other side of the world..... thinking of a proper answer....
oh well. enough of that! I told you if you stay up late and post with me you'll have all kinds of discussions. tonight,,,, hmmmm.... drugs..... (kidding, kidding)
gonna scrapbook just a wee bit more today.....
got about 8 pages done yesterday. Peter (who is now almost 15, is up to 9 months in his baby book. yea!!! )

Kristen,
Ok, what time tonight are you referring to? Just saying late has a lot of different meanings for people in other time zones.
Must explain the rubber doll thing. I was walking with a fellow worker in San Francisco years ago and they had one in the window of one of their numerous adult book stores. He had never even seen one of the book stores, let alone any of their stuff. He wanted to know what a life size rubber doll was for and I told it was for the life size rubber boys they have out here. Afer he asked me why the rubber boys and I told him so they could make rubber kids, he never asked any more questions. Maybe I should have taught sex ed huh!!!
Books,
I like good science fiction and history books. I love to read about all of the ancient places and what they accomplished without the help of computers. When you read and see some of what was done thousands of years ago, I kind of wonder if maybe we aren't the retarded part of the real civilization that left this planet eons ago.

hey, Ron. I thought you said that bridge was limited to foot/bike traffic. No cars! How did you do that??
Just 'sneak' on??
Got 11 for dinner tonight. Of course 6 are mine, so not that many extra.
Are we on to books, now??? Nobody touching sex with a 10 foot pole???
Books. hmmm. I used to read all the Clancy/Ludlum types. Now I don't time for that much detail.... a fun chick book is nice. happy endings, romance (sex) , some drama, no brainer.
I don't 'stoop' to Harlequins tho'. totally brainless. I like the story telling of Nora Roberts, Barbara Delinsky, etc.
I have started most of the Cobra books I have. Haven't finished them all tho'. Also like biography's, or autobio's. Computer time has 'stolen' what used to be my reading time! I would read from 9-11 or 12 every night, now I play on the computer..... (as ya'll know)
gotta go! have a great evening, and seeya tomorrow. I believe we are all playing hookie from church tomorrow. Need to pay some bills, etc. Pack Peter for football camp, etc.
XOXOXO
K

How to pass an immigration test in the United States...
Mujibar was trying to get into the USA legally through Immigration.
The Officer said, "Mujibar, you have passed all the tests, except
there is one more test. Unless you pass it you cannot enter the United States of America.
Mujibar said, "I am ready."
The officer said, "Make a sentence using the words Yellow, Pink and Green."
Mujibar thought for a few minutes and said, "Mister Officer, I am
ready."
The Officer said, "Go ahead."
Mujibar said, "The telephone goes green, green, green, and I pink it up, and say, 'Yellow, this is Mujibar.'"
....Mujibar now lives in a neighborhood near you and works for
Verizon in their Customer Service Department.
