You know, if you blow up that photo, I think you can make out Ron.
Well, As I suspected, I destroyed the clutch in my cobra. Erich and I pulled the trans and clutch assembly today and well, there were pieces all over the place.
Perhaps some of you may recall my 7500 RPM dump in London, and peices went flying.
That guy lying on the ground with the silver cobra over him, that was right after...red shirt and blue shorts.
We'll fix it and be back on the road soon.

this one, Tru??
I miss you. I miss Bernie. I had a carefree weekend; my car didn't blow up or nuttin'!!!
Family over last night for steaks, etc. (11)
Friends over for spaghetti and stuff tonight. (9) (Peter left for football camp this afternoon- he was very excited and not nervous at all! )
Guess I better go clean up..... ugh.
Glad to see you on, on a Sunday night Tru. It's been quiet around the forum all day, today. Guess that's what Sunday's do..... Took a family member out for a little spin last night. He loved the cobra! He said he had a couple of old cars, GTO, etc., but never been around the cobra. (in the 60's).
oh well. Maybe I'll be able to wrench the computer away from #2 son later. have a nice evening.

Yeah...
That's the picture.
Worked on cars all weekend, now I will most likely spend all week putting the cobra back together.
Got new rear brakes on, I am trying to decide what to do with the clutch.
We'll get together again, we have to.

Chuck,
There must be some custom paint places down there or near by. We have some extremely custom painted cars around here and they look at other cars that have similiar to what they think they want and then go to one of the paint shops and the paint shop will paint a panel for them to look at. The panels aren't very big, normally about 3' by 3' but in your case with stripes they would most likely make them a little longer so you could get an idea of how it looks by laying it on the hood. One drawbackI alweays thought to the custom paint is that if you drive it you will get rock chips in it and it is very hard to repair unless you have it repainted. Best of luck on finding just what you wantand the color sounds great.

Tru,
Hope that you get the Cobra back together and on the road soon. At least that is one worry I will never have as mine won't even rev to 7500.
And yes, that was me driving the car. I have the larger copy here but just down sized it to put in the post.

Ron. I thought that bridge was for foot traffic, and bicycles. How did you sneak up on that??
Chuck. You are in 'the lounge'. You might find a good source of information if you post in the 'so cal' forum.

Kristen,
The bridge is for foot traffic and bicycles only. Only place you can drive a car on the other side is down under it. I just thought that it would make a good background for a picture. Kind of like when they let me take the 69 Cobra on the grass at the Conventon Center and take pictures of it next to the big fountain.

Tru,
Yes, I cut the Cobra and me out of another picture and then put it on the bridge to see how it would look there. So far I must have had 50 people around here ask me how I got them to let me take it out there for the picture. Maybe I should print an 8 X 10 of it and go stick it on the sign at the entrance to the bridge that says, foot traffic and bicycles only. No vehicles of any kind. But the one of the 69 at the fountain wasn't changed. They did let me drive it up on the grass and take pictures so long as I promised to not spin the tires on the grass. Actually now I am having to tell all of these people what I did as I don't want to get in trouble because several of them have decided they are going to ask for permission to take their cars out on the bridge and take pictures of them.

Mark Berent has some Nam era Clancy type books. Don't read them if you liked LBJ and J. McNamara though. Steven Coonts has a good series too.

Yea Ron
I played with the picture and when I tried to blow it up the image of the car and the image of the bridge seperated. meaning one stayed in focaus and the other distorted. That was a dead giveaway. Very good though. Had the focal point in the picture been a little closer it would have been hard to detect.
Chuck
Look at My gallery. I had flames on my car and it was beautiful. They were ghost flames that were really "ghost" they were hard to see in some lights. You can see the layout in my pictures. Also if you will get a copy of Kit Car magazine for November 2001 They did a ten page story on my paint job. It is a very informative article. Good luck.
Kristen,
You made a comment the other day about my a/c post being boring. If you would have read then from the beginning you would have realized that I was initially makeing a post to try to help "you" out. It turned out that a lot of us learned something from the conversation.
As for the "other" topic. I will just keep my comments to myself. I respect you a great deal and won't say anything out of charactor about that type of topic. Although I sure had some thoughts

Steve,
I had to put the car at that spot because of the big cables that run down to the bridge floor. With the full size picture, it is harder to tell by blowing it up, but it just didn't look right to have a 2" cable going through the center of the car.
I think Kristen must be sulking or looking for another tag line to put on her posts. She hasn't posted much in the past few days. But she is really busy too, not like an old man like me that has time to play around. I also haven't seen or heard much from Lil Mike in some time. But school will be starting again soon and he will be back I bet.

hey, there... yeah, thanks for the info on the AC, Steve. I was just whining about the boring thing... Probably if I put more of your suggestions in practice it would improve my electric bill. On the other hand, I have 2 meters, plus a utility light, so I get 3 bills for hmmm, roughly 8500 sq. ft. under roof. That includes the main house, workshop and guest house, and well, whatever. I know the AC is a big chunk of that, tho'. Just the lighting around here is a big piece of it. We have hmm, lets see.... 6 exterior AC units outside. It's a lot to manage, fer sur!!!
Also, you are soooo fun to kid about slightly 'off color' stuff, because I know you are a good person, and quite true and straight as an arrow. I'm just kidding you, because I know you..... (btw. I am quite true, and straight as an arrow, too, but it gets so 'dead' around here, that a little spice on a forum that is 99.9% male, is just too much 'temptation' for me to pass up!!! Generally, the lounge posts are quite clean and on the up and up. Now go over to the 'jokes' thread, and wow, some of them get really uh, 'hot'! I do read some of them, but I've never posted there. They are funny, but taken with the intention in which they are posted. I can 'kid' with Bernie, or whoever, because distance makes it work. Now I would never 'kid in that way' with you or Fred, or such, because we're just a little too close, familiarity could cause an uncomfortable situation..... That's why the 'pink thong' thing could just die off... fun for awhile, but time to move on..... Anyway, I could never actually wear one of those things- talk about uncomfortable!!!
ok. onto the pic with Ron. That's a fun pic, and is for now my desktop backdrop. Fun!
man, it's hot outside. the girls want to skate but nooo way! too hot! They'd melt. oh yeah. I took some pics of them skating the other night. will post later.
I hope Peter is drinking a lot of water, and that he doesn't get heatstroke at camp. I worry about that.... I know the coaches are all very sensitive to that, with there having been a few heat related deaths at football practices the last couple of years, but you just want to be sure.
We had an 'Ozarka' water truck bring a dispenser and 4 big bottles of water today. The Dallas lake water is 'turning over' and tastes like dirt. groosss. my hubby decided we finally could go to bottled water. spring water. We'll see. A novel thing at our house always gets lots of attention. I was gonna scrapbook this afternoon, but think a few minutes of reading then a nap sounds good. It's already 3:30, so just a few minutes should do it.
seeya this evening!
ps. I moved over to the computer with dialup last night, so son could play his internet game, and gee, I could almost get a game of freecell in between every forum change. slow slow slow. We sure get used to broadband!
Kristen

We are thinking of adding a second one for the kids. Can I hook up two computers to the same dsl connection?
Or is that illegal and I do not know it?
