Ron
I really enjoyed Vietnam and particularly found the people to be friendly. There's no problem with the thriving economy there - hell I was offered more real 'Rolex' watches or real 'Polo' shirts than anywhere else ever... I didn't think 'Rolex' and 'Polo' made so many.. Spent a few days further north and travelled along the Delta region finding the people there living a real hand to mouth existance but very happy. Living here was very basic with few luxuries - even in 2006. I took the opportunity to take in the tunnels and the various war museums and prisons. For me as a non participant in the Vietnam war - a few years to young at 17yrs. - it was an eye openner on the terrible conditions that both the US and the Australians served in. Damnn it was hot and I had the luxury of retreating to air con. hotel and poolside bars. Well worth a visit to Vietnam. I found Thailand a little seedy and the people perhaps were a little more attuned to making sure Anne and I parted with our dollars. It was expensive and a few of the people we dealt with had a tendancy to dissapear with your change/money..  now Anne does not need encouragement to spend.. Thailand was ok, but I would possibly not go back there. Anne has been a number of times. But her travel is to the Jim Thompson emporium and a few other well known companies that welcome her Credit Card.. Bernie |

After doing the apartment thing she is a renovation expert. Should do a renovation program for Lifestyle programs...:3DSMILE: I'm not complaining she is picking up her own Credit card bills.. Will catch up soon Bernie |
Ibr8k4vettes,
MikeZ, Thanks mate would love to catch up. I was there in 2006 for the event and loved it. Caught up with some of the guys from San Francisco south bay area. Had a great get together in the white spanish design motel about 4 blocks up the road from the old church.. they tell me it's the church that is often featured in wedding scenes in the movies. The show was great with cars parked along both sides of the main street there in Santa Barbara right down to near the water. Found a nice little bar with some great bar staff...%/ A great mix of different cars. Think it was around 20th of April.. Good to catch up and say Hi. Thanks |
Bernie,
Vietnam sounds really interesting. Did you take any pictures of any of the tunnel complexes? I have always been a real history buff so far as visiting old battlefields and trying to imagine what the people there went through. So far I have been limited to the Pacific area and then I was in Korea so I have no desire to go back there. Ron |
I have been slipping. Been trying to get the house in order to go to Texas.
So, what is this page Brent has set up? It is 20 degrees outside this morning. :D :D :D |
:)
Tru, It is another site for every kind of car, even 2007 Shelby Mustangs are allowed. You should go over and join as there are starting to be some nice cars show up. Also has a lounge and Kristen started a chat thread. Imagine that. http://carandenthusiast.com Ron %/ |
Lousy weather. It has been nice here for two days and now we are to have rain, wind, and a high of mid 40s. The rain we badly need, the wind we don't need, and we definitely don't need the low temperatures. In fact they are saying it may snow some here today. I may as well be in Denver. :( Ron **) |
what is the thread we were talking about Warren accepting us as FRIENDS on Brent's new site???
I am soo confused!!! Warren- I selected 'you' to be my friend, and you have not 'accepted' me. You have no friends!!! Get it together, buddy!!! off to make 50 peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, and wash fruit, and bag cookies and ice gatorade.... gotta go! K |
ok. just checked. we are now friends. :JEKYLHYDE
this is all just tooo much!! Dave- GIVE ME A CALL!! ASAP!!!! thanks, k |
:)
Warren must be out driving. He hasn't posted much the past few days. It is clear here today but cold as all get out. A light wind blowing also. Ron |
I'm on it.
|
Mission accomplished. It is warming up outside. The snow is now slush.
Ron, I posted a few questions on that other site, if ya got the time. This situation sort of reminds me of Steve's site...kinda. I can see this other site may be just as much fun. Oh well. time for a nap. :D |
Tru,
I was just over on the other site and saw you had asked a couple of things. The e-mail notifications from there aren't working at the moment and when you are ready to set up your home page, Fred, Kristen, or I will help you with the way. You will have to pick how you want it. Also put your avatar in. The blank squares don't look as good. Except for Fred. Everyone on the site can see his picture but him. I even took a snap of it and posted it for him because he can't see it when he goes to his home page. I think he thought I was just telling him that, but his shows up on every post and everyone else can see it on his home page. Ron :JEKYLHYDE |
does he not see his avatar, either?? what about other pictures??
Fred, ya need new glasses???  |
May Frenchy cause all of y'all warts.
:) |
