Just got home and had to fill up with gas. What a shock. In three weeks it has gone up over 40 cents a gallon here. Prices this morning were $2.85, $ 2.95, and $3.05. Last week they were .10 cents cheaper and at this same station. Wonder what this afternoons prices will be. And this is supposed to be the time of year our gas prices are lowest as they really jack them up in the Spring and Summer for the tourists.

Gas is way up here as well.

I sure am glad I put that 5 speed in, the milage difference will be great!

Ron, Fred, do you two cut back if the price is way up?

Tru,

No, I drive when I have a chance. I don't have to do a lot of driving so it doesn't affect me like it does people that have to work and travel a lot. May cut back on mowing the lawns though as it now costs as much to fill the lawn mower as it did the car last year. Another excuse to put something off.

Its a fine morning here ... 5 ºF with winds about 25 MPH and gusts up to 50 MPH. Wind chills in the range that even Tru would say is cold.

Two days since last ride and counting.

Dang, I thought I would have Warren beat at 7 degrees this morning, but he was at 5.

I suspect Warren will not be out driving around. However, I would not put it past him to push the car out in the drive again and take a picture.

I guess that is what I will have to do as it is to cold here right now for driving. And after next week I will no longer have the car. My cousin from Arkansas is leaving there Saturday to come get it, as I sold it to him. I was hoping to get in one last drive and have really enjoyed the darn thing the past 11years, but all things have to end.

Just got home from my last drive in the Cobra. Today turned out really nice. It is 68 degrees and not a bit of wind. It is supposed to rain tomorrow and be lousy the rest of the week, so I put off other stuff for one last drive. Kind of sad to see it going away but I hope to move on to another car.

My condolences. First one of your puppies, now the Cobra. Life is tough. Glad you could go for a ride today. It got all the way up to 11 ºF here this afternoon, but 20 MPH winds with gusts up to 50 MPH

How about getting a Buggatti Veyron? Hey copper ... try to stop me!

Of course, you could also be like Kristen and get a GT-500.

Just got a notice from my health insurance HMO. Three years ago the monthly payments were $350. Last year $666. Now the new rate will be $732 per month. Got to spend some time checking out other plans. Maybe I'll just join the largest group plan --- uninsured. Maybe I'll become an illegal alien

I sold my Cobra to a cousin in Arkansas. He is going to be leaving next Saturday to come get it. Depending on how much weather they hit and how long he stays in Reno he should be here the first part of next week. It was kind of sad yesterday knowing that I was going for my last drive in it. But a lot of things in my life are winding down and it will have a good home and be well taken care of. I am hoping to buy a Daytona coupe if things work out and the owner can get a break to call me soon. Otherwise since I no longer have a car I will most likely drop off CC and find something else to do for a while.

Ah yes, the relative in AR. You had written to me about this person.

I don't see how selling the Cobra would cause a reduction or absence in your personality on CC. I am not sure the site would be a same.

I think you should consider Kristen, Fred and everyone else...maybe even Warren and how they will feel about you leaving.

If this doesn't work, think of all the great posts you can deliver with comparisons of various facts.

It just doesn't feel right being active on a site like this when I don't have a car any more. I am really hoping the Daytona Coupe thing will come through soon, but just have to wait and see. In the mean time I can enjoy the lousy weather. It is sprinkling and cold here today and now they are saying it will be in the 80s next week. They can't even get it correct 3 hours ahead of time, so I don't pay any attention to their 7 days ahead forecasts. Last night late it was going to rain for the next three days.

OMG Ron - you cannot leave this site. The only entertainment left would be Frenchy, and she is just one hairy *itch.

Yesterday when I awoke it was 5 ºF. But today, the temperature had soared all the way up to a balmy 6 ºF. You have a lot of nerve telling me that the weather next week will be in the 80's. I hope the Mt Shasta Goddess dumps a load in your driveway. If not, please send her to Tru's address.

Turtle just left the driveway to go out to your house and change your mind about leaving CC. Hopefully, turtle will pass thru Tx and pick up Frenchy. Expect to see them sometime this fall.
