haven't been on the other site in quite awhile. now that the 500 is really here, guess i need to post some updated pics. :)
Fred is ignoring me, so no, Frenchy hasn't had anything to do with your surprise. ;) tonight is the 'First Grade Spring Program' so gotta get #4 prettified and ready to go. seeya! K |
Thanks for sending it back.
Ron, I think I got a good deal, I got 50 cans of Campbell's chunky soup for $75.00. AND, I got coupons to get another 15 for free. I like soup. :D :D :D We helped do the paperwork for Erich's dorm at UofM. |
Tru,
That is a good deal. I eat a lot of Campbell's Chunky soup and it is around $2 a can here and never any coupons. I hate going to the store as it is a minimum of $150 and that is just for me. Maybe I should start skipping eating and use the money for more important things. :) Ron :3DSMILE: |
No, you should eat.
I am thinking of going back for more. |
Ron
I have to agree with Tru ... if you stop eating, the only money you will use will be for funeral expenses. Speaking of soup, I eat a lot of it, especially during the winter. I LOVE clam chowder & corn chowder. The Italian deli down the street makes the chowders, but its maybe for 2 days every other month. But most of the canned soups & chowders are way too salty for my tastes. I have taste tested many brands and really like Health Valley. It is usually in the Organic/Heath Food aisle. In many markets its about $2.25 for a 15 oz can. But there is a Job Lot Warehouse that has it every so often at $1.25. Last year I bought over 100 can of "Fat Free Corn & Vegetable" at the Warehouse. I really love it, especially since the whole can is only about 150 calories. Its almost all gone. Another time, the local Stop & Shop had one of those little machines that expel a coupon when you press the button. It was for $1.00 off on the Health Valley soup. I must have pushed the button a hundred times until it ran out of paper, and I used every coupon. |
We are going to have to pull the belt a little tighter for the next two years.
Paying for the boys colleges is expensive. We are going to London, but after that, we may not be going the next year of we don't have the funds. I am going to ask Fred to take my place. |
:)
Warren, All of my funeral expenses have been paid for since my Mother passed away as I went in and paid for everything. the headstone is already in place and just waiting for the final date. I don't want anyone to have to mess with things I leave when I go. :) As for eating I could easily live for a few months off my excess FAT. It would most likely make it easier on that hip with the pinched nerve if I would lose 50 pounds. :D Ron ;) |
Ron, those added expenses really dig into your plans. Good to hear you are recovering.
How is the Daytona coming? I am thinking Two months of driving this year. Fat? What fat? If a strong wind blows, you'd be lost. |
Tru,
He is bringing the Daytona up today to have some minor things taken care of and then when it is ready he will come up and we will go for a drive and check everything out and if I am satisfied I will get it then. It will most likely be at least 2 to 3 weeks before Bill gets around to checking everything. Ron :) |
Well I will be going down to South Redding in about an hour to look at the Daytona Coupe. Tony called and is on his way up here with it. He wanted me to meet him there, and then he will have some things done to it, and we will discuss the rest. What happens this afternoon will likely determine if I am going to get it or not.
Ron ;) |
Good luck on the Daytona.

One ride Friday and one ride today. No mud!
|
Well the car was all he said it was and more. As soon as Bill gets the minor things taken care of I will get it. And I am going to have to learn to drive it. The steering is really close and just a twitch of the wheel and you are off the road. He said he got 14 miles per gallon an the way up and it is scary fast. I was in 4th and just easing into it and looked and was over 100. Tony said he had it up to just over 140 once and it was still pulling well. Lots to get used to. The very short shifter makes for harder shifts than I am used to and the steering I have to get accustomed to. Also I want the clutch checked as it seems to catch to far to the top. But the car is just really nice, hardly a rock pick anywhere. It will be a real learning experience for me and I won't even think about taking anyone for a ride until I have had a few weeks to get used to the cars quirks. All kinds of extras too. Alarm system, full built in roll cage, top end fire suppression system, remote door opening, and noisy. I have to get used to the TEC 3 computer as when you back off fast it sounds as if it is popping through the exhausts and he said that is the computer putting an extra spark out to burn any fuel that may have not burned when I decelerated quickly as that stops it from getting down into the exhaust system and then pipes.

That's great Ron !!!
I think that is THE replacement for your Cobra. You'll beable to get a lot more driving in than you were before.:3DSMILE: Did you get any pictures ??? |
Gee Ron, sorry to hear about all the stress and trouble with the new car. Just how long before the ear to ear grin disappears?
Pictures! |
wow, sounds great!
just work out those little kinks, and learn to drive the thing! i could say the same.... took the 500 out for a little spin with my girlfriend last night. hit some water, fishtailed a lot, scared the $hit out of her, startled me..... whew!! she covered her eyes the rest of the way home... not sure she'll be riding with me for a while. :o when we first started driving, she was all 'gungho' with it. "oh this car is much nicer than the Cobra... this car is smoother than the cobra... this is great! I like it a lot better...." and then slippey slidey!!  i need to learn how to handle it much better before i do foolish things like that! I'm really mad at myself more, because going thru that water now the undercarriage is gonna be dirty, spotty, messy. guess i'll put it on the lift and clean it up, but i was really trying to avoid driving it in a lot of water. we've had huge storms the last couple of days, and everything over here by me had dried up (in the streets) really well. this particular section of road was really low, and I punched it thru it and did the slide thing. not smart at all. :( dumb..... |
:p
Fred, I never took any pictures as I am going to wait until I actually have it home. I forgot to mention that it has a full built in roll bar assembly. But it is going to take me some time to get comfortable with it as everything is so different and that steering is really short. I won't be doing any fast runs for a few weeks after I get it. :3DSMILE: Warren, The grin vanished when I almost ran off the road because of that super short steering. %/ Kristen, Glad that your little excursion in the 500 wasn't anything worse. You are already worrying about getting the undercarriage dirty. Let Fred drive it for a day or so. With Frenchy under it and her tongue, I guarantee a little mud and dirt will not look bad. Ron  |
Ron posted pics a while ago.
Ron, my Car is twitchy in the steering as well. I can change lanes by sneezing. After I did the five speed swap last summer, I got super gas milage at near or over 20 miles to the gallon. This is going to be such a sweet move for you. For God's sake, don't let any turtles near it. |
Tru, No turtles or Frogs will get near it. Frog spears on the front and Turtle scooper's and launchers also. :JEKYLHYDE I am having so many problems lately that a lot of the thrill of getting the car has diminished. I am hoping that when I do get it I can kind of get enough interest in it to overcome some of the things bothering me. Just to much for my nerves the past four months. Ron :( |

You will get used to the steering in short order. I also got a bumper sticker for you. :JEKYLHYDE :JEKYLHYDE |
