It is snowing!!!!
I am in groundhog day hell. Everyday it snows and then melts...over and over. AHHHHhhhhhh.............. |
Tru
Would you feel any better if you punched somebody's light out? I hear that the U.P. is really getting socked with lake effect snow. Pray to the Mt Shasta Goddess!  Ron $16.00 for gas for the mower? Wow, you must have a monster of a mower! Do you use it to harvest your medical marijuana?  |
Nik is in the UP, he says it is snowing, but it isn't as bad as they are making it out.
|
:(
Warren , I have two 2 1/2 gallon cans that I use for the mowers and weed eater. At $ 3.39 for the cheap gas, that is expensive and we haven't even reached the time when they raise it another 20 cents a gallon for the tourist trade. No mowing for sure then. Ron :JEKYLHYDE |
Ron,
I filled up before an hour ride in my Cobra yesterday,$3 gallon for the 93 octane.I thought that was high until I read your post. How close are you to getting the Coupe now ?? Been dialing in the Idle Air Bleeds. Have had a small fouling problem around town and the fumes being pretty bad.Found the primary main jets to be right on where they started at after some changes downward. The DaVinci 950hp was tuned once with my engine on a engine dyno and then on a chassis dyno after the install. After a lot of research and calls,I found out what the all the jets were when it left Holley, then Davince, then KC in Ark. At the last stop,install/dyno,the IAB's went from #74's down to #63's. On Davinci's word I went back to #74. Whole different animal now !:D Definitly more better. Pried Frenchy's tongue off the backdeck and off we went. Found off idle traction to be even more limited, idle more stable and eye burning fumes WAY DOWN.:) Frenchy even got some stoplight flashing in. |
Fred, I am glad that you got the carb straightened out. Amazing at what the correct jets can do isn't it. As for the Coupe, I haven't been keeping up on it with everything that has happened the past few months. Right now cars just don't seem to important to me. But I will check on it later and see how some of the things that needed to be fixed are coming. This darn cold wet weather has given me one huge head cold. We went from a record 90 degrees one day to 39 and raining the next morning and I really feel lousy. Now they say rain all through the weekend. And Friday the 13th is tomorrow. I may stay in bed all day. I have the Comet down having new tires put on the front today so I am without a car anyway. Ron |
Heard some bad news for Turtle on Fox.
They are talking about postponing the annual footrace in Boston this weekend. I thought he was four wheel drive ?? |
:)
They had to postpone the foot race because they can't block the streets for two weeks while Turtle completes his 2 mile stint.  Ron :D |
Turtle has 4 WD with an alky burning turbine. Emits a foul smelling odor when he scoops up all the stray frogs along the Boston Marathon route. Best time so far is 10 minutes flat for the 26 miles.
I'd try running the marathon, but they don't have a class for people that want to drive the 26 miles in a Cobra! Ron - I could ship you the left over 2 gallons of gas I have from my "non-use" of the snowblower this winter. Only used it once. Going to pour the gas into my beater Merc. Weather forecast has changed ... only 6 days of rain out of the next 10 days.   I guess that gives me more time to work on the Cobra. Valve covers came out looking nice after 4 hours of work. Fred - glad that you finally can give Frenchy a thrill other than with your tongue.   My Cobra really smelled of gas at an idle when I got it. Had to increase the primary and secondary jets about 4 steps after I did a tune up and set the idle mixture screws. Everybody says start with the screws 1.5 turns off the seat, but my 750 CFM carb idles best at 0.75 turns off the seat. Raw gas smell virtually non-existent now, and I can set the idle at 700 to 800 RPM. Guess I'll go buy a new set of valve cover gaskets and install the covers. Lousy day ... been raining hard and temp about 41 °F. |
:(
Warren, No rain today but cold. Just into the 40s right now and supposed to rain through the week end. At least I got everything mowed and cut while it was 90 degrees. And that did set a heat record for us at this time of year. It was 91 degrees on Tuesday and 39 Wednesday morning. These radical temperature changes are really hard for me to adjust to at my age. Ron ;) |
Just dropping by again.
Looks as if the thread is still alive and well. Back in Texas now. |
Steve
This thread is alive but can never be described as "well".  4:45 PM and just heard the UPS truck outside. Must be the order from AllenFastners. Got to check out the stuff I ordered. Ron - anyone at any age is not equipped to deal with those temperature changes. The only thing that comes from temp swings like that is a "cold". |
Warren, I don't think I have ever seen temperature swings and weird weather like we have had the past couple of years. Probably just a cycle thing, but I swear these 40 to 60 degree swings overnight are really hard to adapt to. Now this afternoon it has gotten up to 62 but there is a wind blowing and it feels more like 32. And if we get the rain over the weekend like they say, no telling what it will be like. They did say that next week we would go back into the mid 80s. Ron  |
It has nothing to do with the amount of hydrocarbons in the air. Or, the amount of CO2. NOooooo....... nothing at all.
 |
:)
With the price of gas here I think the amount of vehicle emitted emission is going to drop for a while. I see people walking now that had to look at pictures to see how their legs work it has been so long since they walked a block instead of drove. Ron :3DSMILE: |
:D
Fred, I just want you to know that I voted for your Bongo Playing Frog over on Brent's other site. I would like to know how she qualifies to be under the RACING section. He has the BATTLE part working and you click on that and then select the type of cars you want to compare and vote on such as Racing, Car shows, & etc. Frenchy does not look like a Race Frog to me. Ron   |
Gooooooooood morning ... oops, good afternoon. Those 4 hour naps are wonderful. Time for lunch.
|
:p
Warren, Nice of you to get up and join us today. If you sleep all day, then what are you going to do tonight? I am guessing from the weather forecasts that I see that a drive is not in the plans. :D Ron  |
Boss Motors
Just Wondering If Anyone Is Using A Boss 302 Motor In There Cobra?
|
Ron
If I sleep all day, that would be very nice, but not practical. But naps are wonderful. :JEKYLHYDE :JEKYLHYDE No rides so far this month, and the 10 day forecast looks dismal .... cloudy or rain with temps below 50 °F. Not exactly good driving weather. Also, I've been doing some maintenance items for the last week or so, but now my right hip is hurting big time. I have no idea how I injured it ... but it was probably bending over to work on the Cobra. From now on I should put the Cobra up on jack stands to work on it! One of the problems with being 5 foot 18 inches tall   KevinBoss - suggest you start a new thread in the Small Block section. You will get a lot more responses as compared to piggybacking it onto this "chat" thread to nowhere!  Also do a search on "302". I do not think many people use a Boss 302 motor in a Cobra. Most use a 351 or 289 if they use a small block. |
