well, David just had Snapper, fresh from the gulf, at one of our favorite restaurants. I have a lovely Veal dish. yum!
now D has to go to the airport to pick up the two that have been in Colo. with inlaws. Their flight arrives at DFW at 10:30. ugh! #3 came home from camp today, and #2 finished up his tournament this afternoon. Came in 3rd. exciting game today- tied up in 7th inning- to finish it out, no ties on these games- they load the bases with who has just been up, in batting order, and the next batter comes to the plate. One out to start. So, we have the bases loaded, one out, and a guy that hasn't been hitting well is up at bat. He hits a nice drive out to center right, and rbi's two runs. yea! the next guy does it too! So, we are ahead 10-6 when we get our two outs. The other team gets their bases loaded and one out. Our pitcher is worn out, but is determined to finish his game. He started it.... They hit to center right, and score two..... 10-8. well he strikes out one, and the other is hit to my kid on first, and he steps on the bag... it's over!! yea!!! It was to determine 3rd or 4th, so we were really happy with the results. Our team is a 'rec' team, not 'select' team, and only played about 20+ games this spring season. The select teams play around 90+!
We were really proud of our boys, and felt like it was a good ending to a great season, and an excellent sendoff to play high school ball next year. I have a pic or two, i'll post later.
ok, that's it!
now need to do some paperwork tomorrow, and get ready for our BIG TRIP next week.
vacation!!!! yippeeee!!!!
you will not hear from me for a few days....
ttyl.

DId some plumbing today. Fixed the lights on the Tahoe. Put up ceiling pieces in the barn.
It was a busy day, but I think HLC has me beat.

I went for 2 rides and bought some tomatoes. Both Tru and HLC got me beat today (and probably any other day) ... and I didn't even have a nap today!

well heck, i didn't even tell ya about the rest of the day!
left the house early to make it to a wedding shower in Terrell by 10. left it at 11, then picked up quik chicken sandwich along the way, and then drove to Flower Mound for the ball game at 12:30.
left FM at 3:30 or so, and zipped by friends house where #3 was after getting back from church camp. got her around 4:30.
about 150 miles, all said and done......
the best part???? I was in the 500 and I was by myself!!!!
D and I went on our 'date' in the 500. A really really really good Italian 'hole in the wall' place. There is a kid (maybe 15?) that watches the cars in the parking lot. Watches them get stolen, I guess... but anyway, we always give him $5 for watching the car. Last time we went, we went in the 500, time before that, in the '65 mustang. Haven't taken the cobra yet.
oh well. guess i'm gonna go to bed!
ttyt.

Kristen,
Enjoy the vacation. You can use one. I guess Warren considers not going for a couple of drives a day his vacation.

Fred,
Actually they are leaving for a few days while the people they hired to load up all the frogs around their area haul them down and dump them on your lawn. Just think, Frenchy will have 50K friends when you get home.

We went to the Peach festival yesterday. Funny thing
There were NO PEACHES for crying out loud. They advertised this thing all week fresh peaches, bumper crop because of the extra rain, we go after some "Fresh Fruit" ......
We get there the lines are 100 people deep to pay too much for a corn dog and sit on the ground to eat it. LOL
We left and went to Whataburger and sat in the A/C in the truck and watched all the crazy people standing in line for a corn dog.
It was fun to get out though.

A PEACH FESTIVAL with no Peaches. That has to be a first. We have a big Strawberry Festival out here every year and it is normally great.

Fred,
Now that is great. How is Warren going to top that with Turtle? The two of you riding alongside each other should get some attention. Just be careful that it isn't some of her boyfriends.

Steve,
Lots of strawberries and short cake, but the past year or so it hasn't been as good. The berries just don't have the taste they used to. Maybe because of the weather which has really affected many of the things they grow in this area. With no rain to speak of this year, there may not be any berries.

Okay, the frog on the bike wins the weekly vote for picture.
I have eaten at the Italian hole in the wall and the food is excellent!!!!
So, HLC, was the date like a date, or more like two married people out???
Steve, take your medication before you as Fred a question.
