welllllll

Now that I have totally screwed up and this pos computer has posted all of those vents in part or in toto (not the dog from Kansas) I am just hoping the moderators straighten all of my bad out.

Yep only two from California but I will say two that really care which I am now finding out that 99.999999999% don't. Even though my thread got totally screwed up...I am so thankfull for the .0000001% like you guys that do.

It really amazes me that people get so upset when someone is dedicated to a cause, especially when they are too apathetic to participate.

I guess I need to apologize for being so avid in this case but I will not apologize for the fact that so many people that I have helped have not repayed anything. I am not the worst for it but they are.

Ron I read your letter to the soldiers, I hope you don't mind and I told them about you and our story of your donation. A round of applause from many who hurt them to clap.

These kids!!!!!!!!!!!! These soldiers!!!!!! These are ALL heroes!!!!!!!!!!!!!

and they are SOOOOO grateful for the help.

I am humbled from those who have helped and am SOOOOOOOOOO dam dissapointed by those who have not.

AMERICAN SOLDIERS HAVE MADE YOUR LIFE POSSIBLE!!!!

:)

Well I am off to the doctor today to hear the results of my tests. I have a feeling that a couple of them may not be what I had hoped to hear, but that is the price of being so old and having not taken care of myself the way I should. And this heat has really bothered me worse by far this year than it ever has. Oh, well, I will enjoy my time as much as I can and when the cooler weather gets here I can get the cars out and drive them. I would really like to make the Western States Cobra Bash next year and that is my long term goal.

Ron :)

Jay, tell it like it is.

:D :D

hey,littlecobra 08-01-2007 06:46 AM

Jay. always glad to see you pop in here. Copy that post and put it on your disappointed thread. It sounds a lot better! :D

hi mikez. as usual, don't see you around here much but always glad to see you pop in, as well. :)

as you can tell, i'm back home.

unbelievable trip and will post a pic or two when i upload them to my photoprogram. way too many projects going on right now!

I did log on once to check, but the connection was so slow and at nearly a $1 a minute, i didn't hang around long.

We are very grateful for all this rain!

tru. i hope everything works out for you and the cobra this late summer. keep us posted, of course.

ron. i hope you feel better today.

warren. do you think they'd come down to a cool mil for that house?
it looks like a nice summer cottage for me.

ttyl!
K

ps. hi, Steve! ( ;) didn't want to leave anybody out!! :p :D )

Ron61 08-01-2007 07:26 AM

:)

Warren,

Well they sealed the driveway yesterday and told me it was good for 5 years. Since it was just put in last Summer, that is great. Sorry you are tired of my complaints about the heat, but that house is way out of my range. I can't even afford to have my elbow x-rayed to see if it is cracked. I won't post any more weather reports. :JEKYLHYDE

Steve,

Yes the car belonged to a guy that I know and see at the get togethers we have from time to time. I have posted pictures of it a few times as he did a lot of custom work. It is an Emerson car more or less, which is based on the Classic Roadster. There is a lot of difference in the frames and suspension, but the Classic roadster body was used and the doors were made wider. Only injuries were both had their knees bruised from hitting the dash. Cause was showing off to the prospective buyer and over driving his ability. The wet spot he hit he should have been able to get through without hitting that wall. :(

Ron :)

Jay,
Copy your post above and put it on the other thread !!!

trularin 08-01-2007 09:38 AM

Jay, I am not sure if it will help, but if you post a donation address here, we might be able to get something moving.

:D

:D

wtm442 08-01-2007 06:01 PM

Low 80's here for the last few days, Tru. Hope everything progressing well with your repairs.

To make you feel better, here are a couple of pics I took yesterday.

Supposed to be 95°F here for the next two days. May have to skip my rides.

What do you mean by excessive # of photos. Total photos on my hard drive is about 12,000. Just a few memories. A lot of the photos are from my vacations. Two months in Colorado about 3 years ago and 4 months in Florida about 4 years ago. Not all of the photos are my Cobra.

My prayers to all of the people affected by the bridge collapse in Minneapolis.

Edited because I deleted many pics from my gallery.

427sharpe 08-01-2007 07:35 PM

I was scanning posts and read that someone saw Mt Rushmore in Colorado? Did they move it from the Dakotas when I wasn't looking?!?!?! I stop by there now and then on the way to Sturgis and want to be sure before next years trip in the Cobra....:p
Warren; did you see the interview with the folks who had just gotten over before the collapse? A lot of scared faces in that crowd, and lucky as he//. What a sad event.

Ron61 08-02-2007 04:15 AM

Warren,

Great pictures as usual but you really should think about mowing that grass in your back yard.

The bride collapse was really bad. Really makes me wonder. The Egyptians and Romans could built things that are still standing and anything we build is considered great if it doesn't fall down in 50 years. :(

Ron :)

4RE KLR 08-02-2007 07:14 AM

I think we are al lucky more did not get hurt. Did you hear the school bus had about thirty children on it.

Ron61 08-02-2007 07:20 AM

Yes, that school bus was very fortunate that it hung up there and they could get the kids out. Just think what it must have felt like being there in that bumper to bumper traffic when the thing started to fall and being able to see it and you couldn't move or do anything but fall with the rest.

Ron :(

4RE KLR 08-02-2007 07:23 AM

Everytime I am on a bridge and a large cement truck or a heavy truck drives on the bridge you can feel the bridge move. I know they are designed to flex under load but I never do feel good about it.

wtm442 08-02-2007 07:52 AM

The river below the bridge is only 9 feet deep. The bridge itself was taller than 9 feet, so the majority of cars stayed above water.

Ron - you cannot blame that collapse on my Cobra. I've never driven it across that bridge.

Regarding the grass in the back yard ... it was taken at a local Jr High school (excuse me, middle school to be PC correct). The school sits next to a swamp, and they have about 10 acres of open space that they mow. They just let the swamp grass/bushes grow tall around the edges.

I think it makes a great backdrop for pics.

:)

Warren,

It does make a great background. Now if you could just get a few alligators to lay alongside the Cobra, that would really top it off. Maybe entice them out with some FROGS. :3DSMILE:

Ron

Ron

The only gators in MA are the politicians.  The Tedasaurus's skin looks tough and wrinkled enough to be a gator.

Just had some seedless watermelon for lunch ... ummmm gooood.

Warren,

You don't want Ted close to your Cobra. He would either fall on it and crush it or bump it off into a swamp or river. Good thing he can't fly an airplane.

Ron :o

wtm442 08-02-2007 11:46 AM

My special thanks to Emerson Quiet Cool. ITS 98°F OUTSIDE WITH A HEAT INDEX WELL OVER 100°F

But inside its in the low 70's .... just right for an afternoon nap.
