hey,littlecobra 08-08-2007 03:18 PM

I know that's an old barn. ;) it looks neat, though.
My house is.... rustic?? hmmmm looks like a cheapa$$ motel out of the old wild west- or well maybe Colorado.
I always think of Matt Dillon and Miss Kitty strolling down my incredibly hotel style staircase. You know, after Matt paid Miss Kitty an afternoon visit. ;)
I've looked for a lifesize cutout of Miss Kitty, but none can be found. :( I have a lifesize Tonto and Lone Ranger at the top of the landing instead. No lie. :JEKYLHYDE
All the walls in my living room are Aspen or 'river rocks'. a bit over the top but I bought it this way.
There are a couple of pics in my gallery somewhere way back of an angle or two. I have 3 Texas flags on one wall, two quilts hanging, several antique or vintage shotguns, hmmmm 3 deer, two turkeys (no lie!) and well what else???? oh yes. no pigs. The big pig (Emmett is his name) is out in the workshop, where Tru lives when he comes to visit.
It's hard to describe this setup but alas it's what i've got. I think i could park about 50 cars here, but only have a two car garage. bummer.
Steve did an impressive and excellent job of backing the trailer into a tiny slot when he delivered it, June '04. Excellent job, Steve, excellent job. not too easy getting thru the front gate, huh?? I surely can't do it! Not sure David has tried!
ttyl!

Yep Warren, I took my meds this morning.

.... until you get to the 2500 post limit?
.... until Barry Bonds hits 900 home runs? (what a joke!)
.... days until Christmas?
.... days until you get a Cobra?
.... pounds you want to lose on your diet?

We are less than 200 "views" before this thread passes the old OEM thread we built. That would move this thread into place #4 as the 4th most viewed thread.

Warren,
ouch...# pounds I want to lose on my diet. I'd disappear. ;)

Kristen,
Thanks. I will admit it was a challenge getting the trailer into the very small opening into your front yard, but it was really no step for a stepper. ;)
My dad taught me to back a trailer when I was about 13. He hooked up a very short trailer (about 8' long) to the truck and we headed out to visit the farmers. WE made me drive down a row of corn in a field \. No kidding the corn was hitting the mirrors on both sides. He says "stop here". He then gets out and says "you know how to get home from here don't you?" And took off walking. The row was a dead end.

I beat him back to the house. I have known how to back a trailer ever since.

Ron :p

Ron,
Could it be Old Man Mountain:confused: I could see where you in your advance state of age could mix them up:LOL:

Steve,
People that don't know Ron might think you are giving him a hard time about his extremely advanced age.

Us that know him know that telling him he is 2,800 years old is kinda like telling a 80 year old Great Grandmother she looks and acts like a 18 year old.
Just being nice.Bet Ron thanks you for it too.:)

4RE KLR 08-08-2007 08:45 PM

Well I did put a smiley face at the end of the statement.

And Ron knows its all in fun...

I was driving thru Milton (one of the top 10 places to live per Money magazine) and noticed a house that you "might" be able to afford.

The only problem is that the abutting houses on either side make the McMansion from yesterdays posting look like an outhouse. One of the houses was on a manicured lawn like a golf green that must have been 2 acres ... and if I was to guess the price, it would have to exceed $4M.
Hey Warren! Was this picture taken in Milton WASHINGTON ???? Where abouts ?? I grew up here in WA & go by Milton all the time.....cannot picture where there this shot was taken! Nice "garden" photo too~! Ha Ha ! Nice photo!

Hey Steve and Fred,

Thanks for just going back to my childhood age. Even I can't remember much past the 5,000 year mark as things are kind of fuzzy from then back.

Ibr,

That is probably the one. I never heard it called that and we just called it the first thing that came to mind. I loved living there and really would like to come back down and spend a few days just wandering around and looking. We cut trails through the undergrowth to get to the three waterfalls that were behind Paradise Camp. And to drive over San Marcos Pass in a Cobra would be a blast. Darn I had a lot of fun in my childhood, just 2800 years old then, and no Govt. regulations to protect us. We made racers out of any wood and wheels we could scrounge and used to pull them to the top of the mountains and race down the fire roads they had cut. I also smashed several of the racers into big trees as we had no brakes and we did get up top some pretty fast speeds. And the beaches at Santa Barbara were great fun.

Warren,

That is way to modern for our first racers. Who do you think worked months on the Fred Flintstone car design?

HLC's house is very very nice.

The living room is decorated in Texas traditions ( my observation ).

The barn is rustic.

:D

trularin 08-09-2007 08:28 AM

BTW, tonto and the lone ranger are at the top of the stair as she said.

:D :D :D

wtm442 08-09-2007 09:19 AM

I'm getting Cobra withdrawal cuz I did not get a ride in yesterday. But its sunny outside and temp is 73°F. WOW. 73°F at noon in August. I'm going for a looooooong ride.

See ya

trularin 08-09-2007 10:44 AM

I suppose if I were retired, I would be out riding on days the weather was kind.

Raining today, need it and I am glad.

:D :D

4RE KLR 08-09-2007 02:13 PM

Very hot here. At least it stopped raining.

Even with as much rain as we have had some places are already dried out and look dead. The area lakes are still way overfull and they have slowed down on letting water out for our down stream neighbors who have very little.

I decided to join the cobra club since the cobra has become my primary source of transportation. Brent has been taking my truck to work since it has air conditioning. I figured now I had the right to post since it has become my car now.

:)

Jenny,

Nice to hear from you and post often. Keep us updated on Brent, the job, and that pretty little girl. The weather is weird. It was in the 115 to 117 range last month and now in August when it should be up there, it has stayed in the upper 80s and mid 90s so far. I wish it would stay this way but fear we will get up one day and it will be back in the 115+ range. We enjoy hearing from you and Brent doesn't post often so tell him I said hello.

Ron :)

4RE KLR 08-10-2007 07:17 AM

Jenny you are always welcome here.

Well folks we finally did it. Our little chatty Cathy thread is now the number four most viewed thread on CC. Hard to believe these two threads are in the top five and the other one has been closed now for what two years. LOL
