Gee Warren,

I can't believe that you are crying about that piddly amount of water. There were times this Winter when we were getting all of the rain that we had more than 4 inches standing on the streets. For the first time in history I-5 North of me was closed for high water this Winter. We had almost 10 inches in one 14 hour period. And we finished around 48 inches above our normal total. Four inches spread over a whole weekend is just showers.

Nice picture Kristen. Traffic doesn't look to bad in that picture. Some times it is nice to ride and leave the driving to others.

Jim Jacobs lives near me- in Forney. His 289 is fun! He picked me up at 7:30 am, and we took off for the show. It was a beautiful day. Have spent an hour or so this evening scrapbooking.

That is a really nice car. Did he win? It was 97 here yesterday and really a sort of down day for me as I was just tired from the weeks messing with the driveway and all of the mowing, so I spent the day doing my favorite thing. Nothing!

neither one of us wanted to stay all day- it is a loooonggg show- judging is from 11-1:30, awards at 3:30+, never leave til 5+. so, we left early. We went for the 'dallas group socializing' at the IHOP at 9. Then over to the show to hang out awhile. It's a 'high end' show- lots of waxers! My first year (before I 'trashed' Pepe) I didn't place, and the car was still in perfect condition from Gary owning it. It's a tough one! I have too much fun with the car to spend a lot of time polishing all the time. Not to say it doesn't need a good cleaning now! All that water spray from the track two weeks ago really messed it up. I need it looking pretty good for Tulsa, next month.
Of course last year it was covered in mud from the 'pit area' at the dragstrip in Tulsa. Dirty dirty car.
I'm looking forward to doing the easy track tour in Tulsa, and probably the dragstrip again. Now that I know a little bit about bracket racing, I might do a little better. A lot of the girls in the powder puff category do this every weekend. They are pretty good at it. I haven't a clue!!

gotta go to the gym. missed last week.

SIGN IN A STORE WINDOW :

"WE WOULD RATHER DO BUSINESS WITH
1000 AL QAEDA TERRORISTS THAN WITH ONE SINGLE AMERICAN"

This sign was prominently displayed in the window of a business
in Philadelphia. You are probably outraged at the thought of such an
inflammatory statement. One would think that anti-hate groups from all
across the country would be marching on this business . . and that the
National Guard might have to be called to keep the angry crowds back.
But, perhaps in these stressful times one might be tempted to let the
proprietors simply make their statement . .

We are a society which holds Freedom of Speech as perhaps our
greatest liberty. And after all, it is just a sign.

You may ask what kind of business would dare post such a sign?
.
.
Answer: A Funeral Home
(Who said morticians had no sense of humor?)

Hello everyone, sorry I couldn't join in much in the past few weeks, busy times for me. The Fairlane is starting to come back together (If you can call it that .) I was over to work on it over the weekend, the body man was there, and I showed him the car. All he could say was "Oh my Gawd." Uh Oh...

Finally, FINALLY got the darned Ether lovin Cat done today, after it had a little incident with a 3rd Year (He grabbed the throttle when I had my back turned, reved her to WOT, then let the throttle go.) This, of Course, jammed the fuel rack in the pump. That created 2 1/2 weeks of unneeded work, ARG!

Anyways, we got it started today, and the new old timing advance was (is) bad, so when it started, it sounded like "pop...pop..pop.poppopopopopopopopopopopo POP popopopopopop" or something like that. Created a heck of a lot of white smoke (I could barely see my hand in front of my face!) Finally did get her runnin fairly good, and thats when I took the video. I was liberally working the throttle, and when I got her up to WOT Towards the end, the guy in front of the door said the Oil pressure gauge was pegged (It goes up to 100 PSI.) The popping and puff of white smoke is the sign of the bad timing advance. Ill post the shorter one tomorrow sometime... my buddy was running the throttle during that one.

Hey Steve and Mike,

Good to see that both of you are still around. I had started to wonder about you. I know Steve is busy and so is Mike. Steve, what is going on with your site? Most of the day today all I could get was the site not available error page.
Mike, don't let the body man scare you. That is just their standard way of laying the groundwork to jack up the prices. Up here they just say, Oh, that's going to be a problem and most people leave.

Hi all.....no assembly and disassembly this past weekend...was busy hanging drywall on the ceiling and putting up lights all weekend......finally repairing the last of the hurricane damage....can hardly raise my arms they hurt so bad.

I have a favor to ask of all of you guys & gals. Just found out tonight my 5 month old grandaughter, the one that was in the hospital a couple of weeks ago, has something called Vesicoureteral Reflux and may have to have surgery.

Please, all of you that believe in the power of prayer, say a special one for Madisyn. Thanks, Earl

Body men would turn tail and run away if they saw the quarters on my friends 72' Satellite. Its literally rust with beer cans bondo smeared over to hold them together... The beer explains why his engine is completely trashed When I first got the Cat running today, one of the intake bolts worked loose so when I reved it, I saw the bolt slowly work itsself backwards and onto the ground. For some reason I just looked at it until it fel, then I shut the engine down.

Earl, I hope your grandaughter pulls through alright, Madisyn is in my prayers.

Earl,

You and your granddaughter are in my prayers also. The very best to her.

Mike,

Now you have trouble shooting an engine down to the 3rd level. Just watch until you see something fall off.

ah, Earl. Hope everything is improving, and that there may be solutions other than surgery, but if she does need surgery then hopefully that will fix the reflux problem for good. Poor thing! Surgery on a baby is so stressful! She'll be fine!!!
My prayers for you, and of course the baby.

Warren,

Another beautiful day here today. It is right on 60 at 4 AM and very nice. Perfect for a drive. But by this afternoon it is supposed to be 98 and humid. What a great time this break from the continual rain is. Let me know when you approach the 5o straight days of rain.

Wow, you leave for a moment and the thread runs amuck.

Mike, nice Cat job. You did fine work.

Ron, you seem to be getting a break in the rain...I think you sent it to Warren. I am sending mine there as well.

Kristen, that was a good half year summary, I can't wait for the second half to start.

the Shasta Gods are pissing on eastern MA.

100 yr flood, but not to worry ... supposed to be sunny and mid 70's on Wednesday ... just in time for a ride. If not, I'm gonna send out the cops and arrest somebody ...
