hi, Jenny.
I went to the motorcycle shop (Harley shop, but I think any of them would have it) and bought a pair of sunglasses that have a soft foam liner that goes along the edge of the frame. Keeps hair, dust, bugs and any of those little flying pieces of grass out of my eyes. They come with two EASY TO CHANGE pair of lenses. Dark lenses as sunglasses, clear lenses as night driving glasses. I take them everywhere, and they just 'stay in' my Cobra.
I do wear a ball cap for my hair, but the sunglasses work great for the little stands whipping across eyes. Wow that stings!!
Tell Brent hello.
It's awfully hot here! too hot for Cobra driving.

Harley ? Somebody say Harley ???
The glasses K is talking about are Wiley X.
I got a pair about 3-4 years ago for the Cobra.
I got a pair with the Light Adjusting lenses.Works well.
My eyes are bothered by the wind hitting them and also when going from bright sunlight to shade an back at a fast pace,(The light coming in from the gap between the top of sunglasses and face).
With a helmet I haven't worn them on my Harley.I do wear them a lot in the Cobra.
Frenchy does wear them on her Harley though.
She doesn't wear a helmet, nothing much worth protecting there.
They are expensive but well worth it.I'd buy another pair.

They are well built durable product.

I bought the 'expensive pair' not the 'very expensive pair'!!!
Mine were about $60- but the lenses don't change 'automatically'. I pop them out- tinted for day and clear for night.
They sure work well!
That is the brand. Wiley X.
I think my particular style were on 'closeout'; they were marked $100, but like i said, i paid about $60.
Typically I don't buy expensive sunglasses, but I thought they were worth the extra expense.
Now I did go crazy in June and buy a lovely pair of RayBan's....
To go with my new 'auburnish/goldish/whatever my stylist cooks up' hair color.
The new RayBan's are brown lenses with goldtone metal accents. Very pretty.
My 'old' sunglasses were Brighton's which i had had for over 5 years. Well i misplaced them, and i broke down and bought the rb's. Of course i found them a week later- right where i had set them down on a bookshelf at my kids school.
so... the old ones live in the old Mustang. The Wileyx's in the Cobra, and the lovely RB's float from the 500 to the mom mobile the suburban.
ok. was that enough dissertation on my sunglasses setup???
off to church! seeya!

The Carb may be into next week. I called and they are backup up, so they need more time. Doesn't matter anyway, I have to pull the side pipes and get them welded. I don't weld well enough to do this.
I plan on calling someone. I don't know for sure, but I am going to call someone.
Winter prep is killing me, cut five trees today then I canned tomatoes. The Apples will not be ready for at least a week, then it is apple sauce and apple butter.
With all this going on, our stove needs a cat plate. I will need to make it from 3/8 steel. We also had to seal the top plate and weld a seam. YUCK!
Good thing there is only two days a weekend.

Went for a basic 5 hour cruise Saturday after welding up the rear brackets on my side pipes. Temp was in the low 80's (sorry for y'all sufferin' thru 100+ heat).
Went thru the coastal towns of Scituate and Cohasset. Cohasset is a really nice place ... the median home price is about $800K. I hate rich people
Here is a photo I snapped ... but it looks something like the coast of Maine. Check out the lighthouse in the distance. They are looking for a lighthouse keeper if anyone is interested. The island is about 10 feet bigger than the base of the lighthouse.
I got out of the Cobra to take the following pic, and I heard a question coming from the house behind me. So I walked over and started to talk with 3 women that were sunning themselves. Spent about 20 minutes talking with them. They had a ton of questions. Asked if anyone wanted a ride and they politely declined. Maybe they thought I was a xxxxxxxxx
These pics were taken in a restaurant parking lot on Scituate harbor. Tons of boats.
Only went for an hour ride on Sunday - sorry, no pics. Supposed to rain on Monday

Great pictures as usual. The light house really sounds interesting to me. No yards to keep up, just stay in the light house and eat. There are a lot of boats in that one picture.

mike- wow on the video's!
Jenny- these sunglasses are really lightweight- one of the reason's i like them. I think the job they do keeping hair out of my eyes is great. Bummer you get headaches from sunglasses. A lot of the times that is from too heavy of glasses.
I think a pony tail, and then maybe a wide headband might work. The stretchy kind, not the plastic ones.

Gud morn y'all ... tough decision this morning ... what fruit should I have on my cereal. I could not decide! What to do! While the coffee was percolating and I ate a banana. Then I had a 1/4 of of cantaloupe. Slow coffee maker. Had some blueberries and strawberries on the cereal with a glass of fresh apple juice. Maybe I'll have some watermelon for dessert.
78 °F and raining and it feels like 101% humidity. Looks like I'll have to forgo a ride today. But tomorrow is supposed to be 80°F and sunny.
Mike - most people dust inside their houses. With the fire so close, do you also have to dust the outside? Must be a pain in the a$$.
Jenny
I've had glasses since I was a little kid. I would always get a headache with a new pair of glasses if the temples were exerting too much pressure on my head. I must have a soft head! So I always have my glasses adjusted so there is virtually no pressure from the temples. Get a pair of sunglasses with bendable temples, or remove the temples and file down the bevel until they are almost loose, but do not slip off your head when you look down.
Tru - I definitely liked the blue sky on pic #2 against the blue water. If the ocean was dead calm, it would have looked fantastic. Weld up those pipes so you can slap on the new carb when it arrives and go for a ride! Send me some apple butter too ... sounds delish
Ron - that 3rd pic only showed maybe 1/4 of the boats moored in the harbor. Hey, how are the puppies?
Did anyone else cheer loudly when snot-nosed Gordon spun out while in the lead with 2 laps to go in the NASCAR race?
My, my ... does time fly. Its almost time for lunch. More decisions - what should I have?

Lousy Monday morning. I got up, finally got the darn Coupe to start and took it down to the engine builder who does my engines. I am having that crappy computer and fuel injection unit replaced with a carb set up as the computer is so messed up the car is getting worse all the time. Then just as I was turning onto the street to his shop the right rear tire must have hit something as it blew up so loud all the traffic stopped. Only thing left on the rim was the outside and inside beads. I had to drive it about 100 yards as slow as I could to his shop as there was no place to pull over in that traffic. Wheel is most likely ruined as it bent two places on the inner rim. I told Bill to keep the car as long as he needs and it probably will be gone for at least 6 months as I told him to just work on it as he has some spare time. He is going to call the wheel company and see if he can get a new wheel or if they can repair that one. The good thing was I was only doing about 20 MPH in that traffic. I will be so happy to have that computer and fuel injection gone and a carb that I understand it will be like a new car.

The ash gets every where inside and outside and tonight they are calling for "sundowner" winds They are VERY hot and they blow to the ocean, we are between the fire and the ocean
The last fire that started at the top of the mountains with sundowners the fire department "put it out" when it got to the ocean and 425 homes were gone

Sorry about the coupe Ron
Sorry about the headache Jenny
Well I guess I am not having to many problems today. All went OK. I am working on three, (actually five) new home communities. It is keeping me busy right now.
How can it be three (actually five)??? LOL Two are up and running, the others are either being developed or in the planing stages. Always looking for a new piece of ground....
I also have another development plan that will be time consuming that I am working on. So I guess it is six developments. Only one is not residential...
Got to laugh to keep from crying
