OK # 10,000 thanks to Bernie. I was going to answer Warren's eye puzzle but decided I may as well do it here. That is some puzzle Warren.

I used to work in Foxboro which is at least 30 miles from the coast. The difference on a hot summer afternoon could be as much as 15°F, but 20°F would be a rare occasion. The big difference occurs about 1 mile from the ocean. You can feel the temperature drop. If there is an east wind, the temperature on the coast can be downright cold.
Sometimes on a cool day I drive inland where it is nice and warm in a t-shirt and shorts. But if I kept to the coast, I'd want long pants and a jacket! That's why a jacket, gloves and a woolen hat are ALWAYS in my trunk.
Ron - I was going to send you a dollar in the mail, but it had blueberry stains all over it.

Thanks Warren,
As for the temperature drops, I have driven from Sacramento when it was 112 degrees and when you go over the small mountains just East of San Francisco the temperature can drop by 40 degrees or more. I remember going there several times when I carried a light jacket to wear in Frisco, but I wore short sleeve shirts and light clothes on the East side of the hills.

Ron, I bet sleeping in the hills is nicer than at home if it is cool like that.

Tru,
If you get up high enough it is, but then when you comedown it is even worse. I used to spend a lot of time in Lassen Park and when I came home the heat would seem twice as bad for a while.

I can imagine. If it was like 62 and then you arrive home and it is 112, that would make me sick.
It is warm outside today. I am going to help someone fix their lawnmower and then I think I am going to sleep for a long time.

There is a front heading your way. Passed us and the temp dropped a good 10 degrees or better.
Well, the Cobra is in storage and set for winter. I may wash it one more time.
The trees are changing, would have been good to run up I75 and see the trees change, but I can watch it happen in the back yard.

Wash your mouth out with soap. I've still have a lot of driving to do before the snow flies. Friday was fantastic weather for a drive.
Edited because I deleted many pics from my gallery.
I feel like Ron ... posting to CC at 4:30 AM. I hope it warms up in a hurry. I am going to a car show and the temp outside is 48°F right now.
Come on sun - do your stuff! Guess I'll have to break out the wool cap and gloves.

Warren,
I have two pups that think if you sleep later than 1 AM you have wasted the day. I also go lay down later in the day and take a nap or two. Good luck at the car show. I have quit going to them as I don't have a car any more and am tired of the Why did you sell your Cobra questions.

Went for a nice ride on Sat afternoon. I checked out the JFK library which is about 5 miles from my house. Drove around trying to get a local landmark (gas tank) in the background. Cannot get too close to it. There is a state police trooper on duty and the area close to the tank is off limits since 9/11.
Edited because I deleted many pics from my gallery.

Ah Ha!
The Mt. Shasta Goddess kept her promise. I saw a new show on TV yesterday that was made the 25th of last month about the melting of the glaciers and what could and most likely will happen and Boston and Washington D.C. are not safe places to be. You may soon have ocean front property if this keeps up.

Ron,
I'm only 5 houses away from the ocean, but at least 100 feet above sea level. I saw that show too. Very interesting. But their predictions are out hundreds of years from now. By that time, we will both have Cobra wheelchairs!
A 5 foot increase in the ocean would wipe out tons of coastline areas around the world. But a 100 foot increase so I could have beach front property would probably affect 50% of the worlds population!

Warren,
Not all of the predictions were for 100 years for now. Some were for things to start changing in as little as 7 years. Worse storms and those islands in the Southern Pacific that are vanishing are happening now. And I agree with what the guy said about Katrina. we never learned a thing from her. Just business as usual. Some places on the Northern Calif. coast line have lost over 100' in the past few years. A lot from erosion but that was mostly caused by larger breakers and less break water islands and such.

And how good does the Cobra run on those crisp cold evenings or mornings. Aaah nice cold dense air.
Nearly worth the cold drive..
Well still warming up here with 21c ( 72f) today...

Thanks Bernie, but at my age I doubt if there will ever be a 20,000 post. Maybe 10,500. But there are others that are coming up fast.

Tru,
We actually had a small shower last night and it was cold and windy this morning. but right now it is pretty nice. The wind is still blowing a little or it would be about perfect.
