Went food shopping about 2 PM. Temp at home was 75°F. About 2 miles away from the ocean, it was 91°F.
Went for a short ride (~ 15 miles) after that and never went any further than 1/2 mile from the ocean! :MECOOL: :MECOOL: |
Just got back from Dillingham Airfield on the North Shore. Nice weather
got in 4 quick jumps to 14,000' - just a bit closer to my target! Nice "coffee break". Heh heh. |
Hi Cobra
Flip Well done. I've never jumped but have considered it once or twice. The 'They survived' stories on Discovery put me off when I do eventually think about it.. |
:)
Flip, That is fantastic and I hope that you achieve your goal of 12,000 jumps soon. I thought abut trying it when I was young, but just could not see the reason to jump out of a perfectly good plane. Guess I am just a coward. :3DSMILE: Ron :) |
Bernie,
I have seen a few of those, but I have seen far worse along our highways and I'm still driving. The equipment and training are much better now than in the good ole days but not matter what, some people seem to have the ability to screw themselves up and with vidio you get to see some of it. Ron - the weather doesn't look good here today but I should be able to hit the 12k mark this weekend if not today. In a couple of years it will probably be the 13k mark. I seem to have a hard time retiring from this sport. |
OMG
"Never on Sunday" Mike Waltrip won the pole at Talledega! Yawwwwwwwwnnnnnnnnnnnnn. I need a nap. |
It is like 90- outside.
Dang, I was thinking of a ride...then I sat on the black seat of the big tractor and YOWA! That puppy was hot. This isn't even Indian summer yet. :D :D |
Tru - don't think ... just do it **) **)
I went to breakfast and a short cruise with about 25 FFR owners this morning. Will post pics and story later, after I upload the photos. |
Warren,
You are a very fortunate person living there and getting to drive so much. I watched the qualifying and I was really surprised that Mikey won the pole. Tru, Never sit on black seats after they have been in the sun for a while. Carry a white towel to cover them with when you aren't using them of to sit on when you do start to sit down. I did that in my 65 Galaxie and it had red seats, but they would blister you after setting in the sun for a few hours. :MECOOL: Ron :) |
Good morning world.
Here is the link to pictures I took yesterday http://www.clubcobra.com/forums/new-england-cobra-enthusiasts/82781-tribute-dick-smith-cruise-pictures.html and a link to a nice video http://www.clubcobra.com/forums/new-england-cobra-enthusiasts/82769-24-cobra-video.html Weather is supposed to be lousy all this week. I think I'll drive up to Maine for a while and maybe get out of the lousy weather. The Weather Channel forecast is for 8 straight days of showers.  Ron - if you see the Mt Shasta Goddess, please shoot her! :p Supposed to rain today, so I guess I'll do some packing and take off tonight or tomorrow morning. I want to watch the "games" today. The Patriots, Red Sox and the NASCAR Talladega race are all on TV at the same time. Guess I'm going to drain the batteries in the remote. Too bad I do not have a picture within a picture within a picture TV.  |
:)
Warren, I wish we could get your rain. I used to have to drive about 30 miles to be in the desert. Now I just walk out into my yard. :( I have the picture in a picture feature on my TV and it works ok, but I can't believe how they can manage to get the commercials on so many channels at the same time. The Red Sox did well and should have a good shot at winning. Have a great time in Main. Are you going to do anything special or just drive around and have a vacation from driving around in the Cobra? |

sunday, oct. 7. getting ready to go to church.
we had an absolute monsoon yesterday afternoon. Before we got things packed up and put away at the carnival. :( I drove home dripping like i'd jumped into a swimming pool. Dumped water out of my tennies. ok. 5 posts to go.... ;) |
Saw that t-storm on radar at the end of the Texas-OU Game.
Was the Carnival still going on when it hit ? Bet that was a mess trying to pack up in that heavy rain. |
Warren, You drive to Main to buy clothes. At least the golf clubs sound like a better excuse. :) Ron :o |
Ron
The state is spelled Maine I can get clothes in any state, as long as they carry my size. BIG and TALL. Only 2 to go. Kristen - they invented a product a few years ago that might help you. It is called an umbrella. I hate getting caught out in a downpour ... especially when driving the Cobra.   |

Warren, I can't help it if my spell checker accepts Main as Maine . Jeez, are you going to become Kristen over the spelling. At least she never made any mistakes.  Ron :JEKYLHYDE |
