Ron - I definitely want to be a flying pig. Did you know that a pig's orgasm lasts for 30 minutes?

Tru - when I go to the Vineyard it is a vacation. Of course, since I have a financial interest in a business on the Vineyard, my CPA sister who does my taxes insists its a business trip too. :JEKYLHYDE

Fred - blind, cripple or crazy ... 6 to 60 as they say. Beggars can't be choosers.  My plans are exactly as my plans when I'm home. It all depends upon the weather. If its lousy, I'll work on the computer and probably do some genealogy stuff and work on my family tree. I have a ton of pictures that need to be scanned. I also want to get back on my "weight loss" program, so I have some work to do to update my Excel spreadsheet.

If its a good day, I'll do some exploring in places I never been, play some golf, go fishing, etc, etc.

Of course, no matter what the weather, visit some friends, go out to eat, read a book or two or three, visit some local night spots ....

Everything except driving the Cobra

While there is approximately 15,000 year round residents, the population zooms to 80 to 90 thousand during the summer. Its a zoo. That's why I go in the fall. Two years ago I played golf 6 times during November!

Ron61 10-11-2007 08:53 AM

Warren,

If length of duration is what you are after then you should order some of this medicine they are advertising on TV here. They say if you sustain an erection for over 45 minutes then you should check with your doctor.

By the way, are you taking Turtle with you?

Ron

trularin 10-11-2007 10:02 AM

Got to love the tax laws.

So, your sister, is she like the owner of the business?? I mean, are you going to visit your sister or is this something completely different?

Is she older than you? Older sisters seem to have the "keep the baby brother in line" advice.

:D :D

Ron61 10-11-2007 10:42 AM

Tru,

You are truly a sick man to love the tax laws. Now for sure you had better let me keep your cobra for the Winter.

Ron ;)

wtm442 10-11-2007 11:20 AM

Tru
I have not done my taxes in 25 years!

I have 3 sisters and they all own businesses. I was the only one in the brood who never started a business. But I did spend 32 years with one company.

My oldest sister and brother-in-law own two auto parts stores, and I have an interest in both of them. One on Martha's Vineyard and one on Nantucket.

My middle sister (older than me) owns an "association marketing/planning" business. Plans corporate meetings, lobbies congress and state officials, etc, for various associations.

My 3rd sister (5 years younger than me) owns a CPA business. Mostly taxes for high-worth individuals, like doctors, big businesspeople (CEO's), some sports stars, etc. and some low-lifes like me  Last year she did a tax return for a doctor who's witholding was $7M. That was his witholding, not his income! %/ The fee for doing the return was about 75 grand! **) I hate rich people, don't you? Only because we are not!

trularin 10-11-2007 11:44 AM

I feel that I am rich, my kids are smart and have all their parts, my wife has been with me for 27 years...yeah, I am rich.

Do I have money?? No, so I would mind a bit more. :D :D :D

Sounds like the sisters keep an eye on you, that's good.

:D

Ron61 10-11-2007 02:04 PM

:)

Tru,

Money isn't what makes a person rich. It just makes it a lot more fun at times. I admire those who have worked and became wealthy, but I am not jealous of them at all. The one thing that I do miss is my health. But the rest that I used to have many years ago I have no regrets at all about it being gone. :p

Ron :)

In that case, I have just sent you a present that ONLY you would enjoy. The IRS pencil sharpener.

trularin 10-12-2007 07:32 AM

Seen that before, thought it was good back then.

:D :D :D

Last night in the 30s, looks like a fire place weekend. :D :D

Ron61 10-12-2007 07:41 AM

It is raining lightly here this morning. Forecast is for sunny and into the low 80s for the weekend. Tru, hurry up and get your Cobra out to me as this would be ideal driving weather.

Ron :D

wtm442 10-12-2007 07:44 AM

I hear ya Tru. I actually turned on the heat for the first time last night for 5 minutes. It was a little chilly. Rain, rain and more rain for the last few days. But it looks like sunny weather with temps in mid-60's for the weekend.

Just read story that they expect the price of heating oil to exceed $3 gal here in northeast this year. Glad I put in new heating plant a few years ago. Cut my oil consumption by about 40%.

trularin 10-12-2007 08:23 AM

We are going to try to run the stove and fireplace as much as posible to cut back.

I have about five cords in storage, so I may not need to cut more until spring.

I see 38 for the low tonight.

:D

wtm442 10-12-2007 11:51 AM

What is that bright yellowish orb in the sky???? To bad it did not last too long. Almost went for a ride ;) but the streets are still a little wet. Its only 58°F outside and back to gloomy overcast. I guess I can wait 'til tomorrow.

392cobra 10-12-2007 03:16 PM

Sunny and 86 here today.:)
Suppose to cool off to low 60's tonight, then sunny and 86 again tomorrow.:)

Warren,
Are you going to let that termite ridden guard Turtle of yours out of the flowerbed to go on the ferry ride with you ?? Or are you flying ??

wtm442 10-12-2007 03:40 PM

Fred - ferry ... Turtle hates to fly ... way too fast. Plus I usually take a lot of stuff with me in the trunk.

Couple of thing came up and It will be about a week before I go on vacation. Guess I'll also have to get in a few rides.

HI Cobra 10-12-2007 04:01 PM

About 86 or so now here, will drop to the 70's tonight. Am going to spend the day at Kaneohe Marine Corp Base tomorrow. The Blue Angles will be doing
air shows plus there are other airplanes and exhibits and I'll be in the car
show with my Cobra. It is impressive to watch them practice their routines -
I live about a half mile away so they come right over our house.
Have a great weekend everyone!

wtm442 10-13-2007 06:27 PM

Well, it only got up to about 59°F but the sun was out and I had finished all of the chores I intended to do around the house.

The tank was full, and my hat and gloves were ready ....

I found my parking space ...   351 cubes
http://www.clubcobra.com/photopost/d.../DSCN26741.JPG

Huge parking lot, so I tried a few burnouts. Fun ... fun .... and more fun.

... but is it live, or is it Memorex?
http://www.clubcobra.com/photopost/d...m/DSCN2678.JPG

Its now 9:30 and the temp all the way down to 44°F. Supposed to hit 60°F tomorrow ... maybe a short ride before the Pats scalp the Cowboys.

I set up a window fan in one of the windows to the back porch. Even though the outside temp only got to 59°F, the temp in the porch was above 80°F. The downstairs temp in the house was 63°F when I turned on the fan at 11AM, and when I turned it off at 5PM, the temp inside the house was 74°F. I do that whenever the temp on the back porch gets to about 75°F.

Maybe its time to add some black barrels with anti-freeze & water mix to extend the solar powered heat.

Red Sox 3 Cleveland 1 so far. Papi and Manny for President! :D

trularin 10-14-2007 12:22 PM

I suppose if you leave the black barrels in the sun all day and they are filled with something that retains heat, you could get some help in heating your house.

:D

wtm442 10-14-2007 05:36 PM

I've been thinking about the water filled barrels, but first thing I want to do is insulate the porch walls, ceiling and floor. I took some measurements last winter and with sunny sky and outside temp of 30°, it got up to about 65°F on the porch. The seven windows on the porch are removable (screens go on in the summer) and are old single pane glass.

Time for an energy audit. I'd rather waste gas in the Cobra as compared to wasting fuel oil in a 80 year old house.
