Not with the Cobra, although I may fly out. Planning a driving trip to Alaska via RV's but it looks like it will fall thru. Bummer.

well I hate to tell you, but that doesn't look like a CAIRN to me. although your car is looking good!
Have been out with family, and went to bookstore, too. Bought 3 books. 2 on Alaska; 1 on Australia. Too bad they're soooo far apart- would be too easy to make it an all in one trip!
Definition of IS??? i don't get it, Warren. I is sweet. you is driving a lot. Ron is a-flooding, and Tru is, well tru is tru. Fred, now Fred is in the doghouse!
What is you needing explaining??
Been gone all day. Seeya!
going to bed! I'm tired.

Car looks good.
Do you spend time cleaning it? Or, is it prepetually clean?
Ron, Kristen and I are washing about as much as driving ( HLC has a few great pics of the kids helping ), just thought I would ask if you were in the same boat. I'm not sure about Fred.
Oh, and yes, she is sweet.

Gee, and all of this after I had found the perfect picture of Kristen shopping with Fred. Warren your car always looks as if it was just polished. Do you have a detailer follow you around and then clean it before you take a picture? Just getting mine out of the garage gets it dirtier than yours is after you go for drives.

Thanks for the laugh Ron. Much better than my CAIRN.
Its 88 ºF outside and getting hotter and muggier. Guess I'll continue to do some more work inside and keep the air conditioner company.
Or maybe its time for a nap

Warren,
It is 88 here right now and so humid I feel almost as if I am in Georgia or one of those states. The forecast just said thunderstorms this evening, and it is really starting to get overcast and darker. Just hope there is no lightening as everything around here is extremely dry. In fact I hear one of the fire spotter planes going over now as they are already starting to watch for fires.

All,
Just thought I'd chime in here from the west west coast. Typical 85 degrees
with trades to cool things off. Thankfully no more 40+ days of rain - that
was a rare event. I save my Cobra driving days for the weekends when I
go to the North Shore for my skydiving fix. Those days I come home tired but happy from a double fix. What a good deal.

Flip, if you are trying to make me green with NV, you are doing a good job. Sounds like you are having fun.
I am trying to button up some items on my "to do" list. Hmmm.....
I think I'd rather be driving the Cobra.

Darn Flip,
You seem to have all of the really nice driving weather. We have a few days and then it is to hot and humid to get out. Even late in the evening it is still in the mid 70s and humid. Oh well, every place has its good things and draw backs.

I am not sure if any of this is true, but thought I would post it anyway. I didn't take time to go to Snopes to look. Even if it is fiction, I think it would be a great way to run the prisons.
You Have to Love This Guy!!
TO THOSE OF YOU NOT FAMILIAR WITH JOE ARPAIO HE IS THE MARICOPA
ARIZONA COUNTY SHERIFF AND HE KEEPS GETTING ELECTED OVER AND OVER.
THIS IS ONE OF THE REASONS WHY:
Sheriff Joe Arpaio (in Arizona) who created the "tent city jail": He has jail meals down to 40 cents a serving and charges the inmates for them.
He stopped smoking and porno magazines in the jails. Took away
their weights. Cut off all but "G" movies.
He started chain gangs so the inmates could do free work on county
and city projects.
Then he started chain gangs for women so he wouldn't get sued for
discrimination.
He took away cable TV until he found out there was a federal court
order that required cable TV for jails. So he hooked up the cable TV
again only let in the Disney channel and the weather channel.
When asked why the weather channel he replied, so they will know
how hot it's gonna be while they are working on my chain gangs.
He cut off coffee since it has zero nutritional value.
When the inmates complained, he told them, "This isn't the
Ritz/Carlton. If you don't like it, don't come back."
He bought Newt Gingrich lecture series on videotape that he pipes
into the jails.
When asked by a reporter if he had any lecture series by a
Democrat, he replied that a democratic lecture series might explain why a lot of the inmates were in his jails in the first place.
More on the Arizona Sheriff:
With temperatures being even hotter than usual in Phoenix (116
degrees just set a new record), the Associated Press reports: About 2,000
inmates living in a barbed-wire-surrounded tent encampment at the Maricopa County Jail have been given permission to strip down to their
government-issued pink boxer shorts.
On Wednesday, hundreds of men wearing boxers were either curled up
on their bunk beds or chatted in the tents, which reached 138 degrees
inside the week before.
Many were also swathed in wet, pink towels as sweat collected on
their chests and dripped down to their pink socks.
"It feels like we are in a furnace," said James Zanzot, an inmate
who has lived in the tents for 1 year. "It's inhumane."
Joe Arpaio, the tough-guy sheriff who created the tent city and
long ago started making his prisoners wear pink, and eat bologna sandwiches, is not one bit sympathetic He said Wednesday that he told all of the inmates: "It's 120 degrees in Iraq and our soldiers are living in tents too, and they have to wear full battle gear, but they didn't commit any
crimes, so shut your damned mouths!"
Way to go, Sheriff! Maybe if all prisons were like this one there
would be a lot less crime and/or repeat offenders. Criminals should be
punished for their crimes - not live in luxury until it's time for their parole,
only to go out and commit another crime so they can get back in to live
on taxpayers money and enjoy things taxpayers can't afford to have for
themselves.
Sheriff Joe was just reelected Sheriff in Maricopa County, Arizona.

Ron,
We do have better than average weather here but, are limited as to where
you can drive - laps around the island anyone? At least over there you can
stretch your legs and go to cool events. London, Ohio for one, comes to mind. Heck we don't have a race track anymore and they just passed
some new speeding laws that cost major $ + jail. Don't get caught!

Warren,
Rain and more rain.
Flip,
What happened to your race track? I thought that Ernie was still racing some. And I can see where going around the island would get boring. Maybe turn around and go the other way. We do have some great places to go and some really great scenery in the mountains all across the mainland. Heck I can drive for days around here and not cover all the great places. And of course there is the desert if I get tired of mountains. Oh well, I guess there are some slight draw backs to living in Paradise. Sounds as if your new speeding laws must be copied from ours.

Ron,
I'm not sure but I think the state govt would not renew the lease on the land.
The area has and is being built up for industrial usage and there were complaints regarding dust from the dirt trackers so as of April 31st the plug
was pulled and the only track here was shut down. It had a dirt oval for sprints and also a road course and drag strip. Now the H-1,2, & 3 freeways
are the strips. I think the new law basically says that anything over 80 mph or more than 30 mph over the limit gets you a $300-$500 fine, lots of community service, 16 hours of class, and maybe jail time - first offense.
After that the ante goes up considerably. Problem is the ricers here have
been killing themselves and others a lot - even before they closed the raceway.
