Yea that is cold. I grew up in Nebraska, so I understand cold wind chills. -60 wind chill is the worst I ever experienced. I was pretty bad off that night, severe hypothermia. Luckily that was a 1 time experience. Normally didn't get below -15 to -20 wind chills.

Well, the eye doctor said I could still look at Fred's new avatar. No change in prescription, especially since I have 3 pairs of glasses - distance, reading and sunglasses. New glass adds up in a hurry when you do 3 pairs.

It was windy and rainy today when I left the house. Got thru with the eye doctor and the sun was out and it was 52°F. So a quick drive home and take a short ride??????

By the time I got home, the wind was back, it was 40°F and no sun. Looks like no ride for me b/4 I go on vacation.

Question

Warren,

Where are you going on your vacation and how long will you be gone? If it is some tropical island, do you need a baggage boy, flunky, or any other type of help?

Gads, I would have thought you might go someplace to get out of the frigid cold and high winds that will likely be there in February. Are you going to play Golf this time too?

Anyway have a great time. I need to go on a short vacation but will wait for better weather. Maybe in the Early summer.

The golf clubs will be in the trunk. But I will also take my favorite pillow

OK. Time to go to the dentist. Then back home to wait for the gas guy to change the gas meter. I have no idea why they need to change the meter. They might think I'm bypassing some gas cuz my bill is so low - just the stove and clothes dryer are gas powered.

Come to think of it, I'm gas powered too.

Warren,

The new gas meters have an accelerator on them and will read faster than the old ones. Higher gas bills.

Oh, yea, have fun at the dentist. Mine is over for 6 months so now I can sit back and enjoy it.

I bet that the neighbors kept complaining of the smell of "gas" coming from your house.
Everyone is crossing their fingers it is just a leaking gas meter or gas line.

Yeah, the pipes are low. I fear for them most of the time.

I think the entire car would look better if the pipes were higher, but...I think the panels under the doors would have thermal problems.

My ground clearance works out to be 4.5 inches under the car and 4 inches at the pipes.

It was 11 this morning. In celebration of the heat wave, I didn't wear long underwear to work...just a parka.

Anyone know if there is a 308 kit? Just wondering.

BTW, Joe...-60 is cold in just about anyone's book.

Well it has rained, snowed, gotten older and now we have a mix of rain and snow here. But at least it isn't as cold as back where some of you are. I don't think I could take that stuff any more.

Question

Warren,

Just how far is it from your house to Martha's Vineyards, and are you going to drive in this weather? I was looking at my atlas and it looks as if it is farther from you than I thought. Don't they get a lot of wind there in the Winter or am I just thinking about the Atlantic being colder and more windy than the Pacific?

Its only about 60 miles away. Just a short jaunt. The ferry goes in all weather, except when the wind is 35 MPH or higher.

We've had a relatively mild winter, so I'm bringing my golf clubs with me, just in case.

Tru - a 308 kit?????????????????????

Is that cubic inches or gun bore?

Time to put the potatoes in the oven - having a chicken pie and some green beans.

Are you sure 60 miles away will be far enough ??

When your team loses Sunday, the riots could easily spread that far.

I had chicken veg with wild rice soup for lunch today. It was good.

Fred
If the Pats lose, we can switch avatars. OK? That will really screw up 3/4 of CC members.

I think it will be a closer game than your prediction.

Pats 34, Giants 27

I hope the Pats win so we can tell all the asterisk lovers to shove it where the sun don't shine.

Then the Pats can also go undefeated next year!

Thats all the smilies on CC.

Time to watch the Celtics on TNT, and then do some packing.
