Steve,
Don't worry, I think she will talk to you. I haven't had any correspondence with her in so long that I learned when I sent that e-mail she has moved the other sites she had twice now to different servers and names. I never joined them as they are primarily for the Titan Football team and I don't follow football much, especially the way they argue from a few of the posts I browsed through. Some of their arguments make the Shelby/SAAC fight look like kids playing.

Fred,
I speak with Tom almost everyday. Sounds like the ride will be a good one. I have family in Forestburg. They once had over twenty sections or so of land in that area. I think at last count now they have sold all but 2,500 or 3,500 acres.
Ron,
I appreciate it. I do not know if she understands what happened. I suppose I should just give her a buzz.
Kristen,
This place is not the same witout your post. Won't you stop in more often. Like I have said life is way too short to let some jackleg steal your fun.

Do any of you ever go over to ClubHotrod? I do every once in a while and they don't seem to have the problems we have. The pages load faster for me and I haven't seen many complaints and most of those was about e-mail. I thought both clubs ran off the same server as when one is down the other is.

Ron,
I do go over to both other sites and I have noticed the same thing. I have also noticed that when CC is down those sites are as well.

Small world.Never been to Forestburg,I was within 5 miles of it last Saturday on a ride. The DPS had 455 blocked off and had to make a u-turn.Looked like a head on at the top of hill and on a curve.
I wonder how many people on here know what and how much 20 sections of land is ?? I do and it is a lot more than a bunch !!! That would support a lot of cattle.
I have 3.5 sections out on the Plains of West Texas,it's farm land.Cotton & peanuts.
Got in 231 miles this afternoon.

They were growing peanuts for ever, I can't remember how many head of cattle they had there when I was a kid, but it was a lot. The land has been in the family for five or six generations.
When I was about 11 or 12 we would go ride our motorcycles out there. Dad would tell us we could only ride in one direction until noon if we wanted to get back tothe farm house before dark. There is alot of washed out land there, you do not want to be cutting across farmland out the on a motorcycle at night.
Enjoy it, The isn't much better scenery around the metroplex than that area.

For you that don't know,a Section of Land is a square mile or 660 acres.
In West Texas everything is laid out in Sections.Very unusual to find a road out there that doesn't go east-west or north-south.
Oh,yesterday I was riding along and all of a sudden I notice a herd of buffalo off to my left.Man those guys are BIG !
It sure is great scenery out NW of DFW ! Looking forward to the ride today.

I am not going to get HLC mad at me, that would hurt too much. But, I do believe Fred needs to do something.
Dang! it is 7 outside. Supposed to go down to zero. It is the 50 MPH winds that are the concern, something like -25 or more windchill. It is a stay inside and be domestic type day.
Wait until this hits Warren, his bike will freeze to the pavement.
The battery in the farm truck was down yesterday, had to jump it. Bladed a solid three inches of ice from the paved section of the drive...took four hours. And, that was with my wife running the other tractor.
So, when is Warren coming back from his golf trip?

Tru,
When is Warren going to tell us what the weather is like there? I have asked twice and he posted a picture of his bike. It must be hard to play golf on ice and with the course covered in snow.

hmmmm I always thought a section of land was 640 acres???
from Wikipedia: (I know, not always a reliable source, but i looked at a few)
Quote:
"In U.S. land surveying, a section is an area nominally one mile square, containing 640 acres (2.6 kmē). Nominally, 36 sections make up a survey township on a rectangular grid. As the townships are based on meridians (of longitude) which converge towards the north pole, some sections which vary slightly in size are necessary to compensate. These unusually sized sections generally occur at the northern- or western-most edges of townships."

it's fun reading about land, measurements to me.
north/south, east/west. It's all laid out so nicely.
the further west, the more rectangular the sections.
hey, tru, thanks, but not going to worry about it!
Steve. I don't have much to add right now. If you look at my posts, i do post on CC about once, twice a day, anyway.
I have removed about half my photos from my gallery, and that really bothers me. I guess nobody really cares anyway. I remove 4-5 a day. There are several things that have bothered me about CC, not just the thing with dumba$$ cdc.
so.... when i feel like i have something to add to our chat thread, i'll jump in.
I just haven't had much reason to post. I have zillions of activities taking huge amounts of my time, and playing on CC is having to take a backseat. Today i don't have but a couple of 'weekend school projects' for kids, so i am hoping to get 3 cars out and do some cleaning, and driving. The mustang is deader than a doornail, will have to jump it. Pepe.... well who knows??? Hopefully will do more test driving around the area today. If i could get my confidence up that he won't 'stall out' whatever, for an hour or more drive, then that will make me feel much better regarding Austin.
The 500 is fun, drove it yesterday, and that car just loves to go. Try to avoid water, and it's been messy lately. Not necessarily rainy, but lots of moisture, messiness, and i don't want to have to clean it up when i get back from just a fun drive. There is some construction on the main street getting out of my neighborhood, (concrete cutting) and man it has made a bunch of muddy, concrete dust 'sludge' so to speak. It has spattered up all over the Suburban, and what a drag. That car is a mess, don't want to do that on my pretty ones!!
off to church.
just checking in.

Kristen,
I look at your photo gallery quite often and I had noticed that some were gone. It is the closest I will ever get to having nice cars again. And I know that you are really busy, but we do miss your posts. However if I had your cars, I most likely wouldn't be posting much either, especially when the weather is good.
Have a great day and enjoy the nice weather. We finally had a nice day yesterday and I was wishing I had a car a it was a perfect day for going driving.

temp hi in the low 70's... light wind. yea!!
sounds like a perfect Cobra driving day today. If things go 'well' on my test driving, i might see if some folks want to meet at Keller's in Dallas. Everybody likes that place!!
