All of this technical talk was giving me a headache so I went out and did some weed eating. Now I have to mow again soon. It is 77 here today and was 78 yesterday. Very little breeze.

It would be more fun now if I had a car to go for a drive in. We just don't have many days each year that are as perfect as the last few have been. Either to cold or to hot. I did take the 69 out last week for a drive and blew it out.

I really wish I could help you out on the coupe. I was going to mention taking the 69 out. The 69 is my favorite Mustang. I have always wanted one. But the Cobra is on my radar again, so the Mustang takes a comfortable back seat.

The '69 Cobra Ron is talking about isn't a Mustang.I snatched a picture of Ron's '69 Cobra from his gallery.
Ron is the only other person I have ever known to have one,besides myself.
I bought mine new in Nov.1968.

It is all internal on both laptops. I am lucky to get from one end of the house to the other. I have the Belkin G router. I know it isn't the bset but I didn't do enogh homework when I bought it.

Flower power: Bluebonnets blooming

Forget democracy. Elections and caucuses have nothing on Austin’s flower scene.

All Ablog Austin — known in a few obscure circles as the official source for all things petal related — has its first report of a blooming bluebonnet.

Yep. The state flower has been sighted in Dale and Pat Bulla’s half-acre yard in Jester Estates near FM 2222 and Loop 360. :)

“It came out Sunday morning and it is the first one I have seen,” Dale Bulla said.

The Bullas’ early bloomers are no surprise. The Austin couple’s yard — which is filled with a variety of native plants designed to attract bees, butterflies and birds — has been certified as a wildlife habitat by the National Wildlife Federation.

“I have quite a few more that will be out this week,” Bulla said. “We have an all native yard and do no watering. They will really enjoy this rain too.”

Has anybody else seen bluebonnets in bloom?

I have one in partial bloom since Sunday and 3 more almost ready. Blanketflowers and blackfoot daisies are also in bloom.

Supposed to be a possibility of some showers later today, but I will wait and see. If not, then I will have to go get my cans filled with gas for the lawn mowers. But if we don't get any rain in the next few days I will wait to mow as the grass and weeds aren't that bad since the last mowing and they will really shoot up with some more rain and sun. No use doing it twice.

I did not know they made a Torino Cobra. I like that one too. :JEKYLHYDE I have a friend who has a 68 Torino Fastback. Definitely a brother to the Mustang.

The 1969 model was just listed as Ford Cobra because they sent them to the Woods Brothers to modify for NASCAR, The official Torino Cobra came in 1970 and 99% were yellow. Mine still has the weld seems in it where they took the notch back off and welded the fast back to it. The only reason I knew about them was the Ford dealer back then was a good friend and called me and asked me if I would be interested in one. To the best of my knowledge they only sold two up in this area and one was a notch back which was only around for a few months. Mine in in the Ford/Torino registry and there are about 3 pages that break them down right to the type of seat covers the have. After wading through all that they only made 29 exactly in the configuration mine is and can't account for but about 11 or 12 of them. Of course we never had smog testing up here when I had him order it so the first thing the dealer did was pull the engine and get rid of all the smog stuff and bore it .065 and change cams and other minor stuff, so it isn't a concurs car by any means. But it has been in several magazines and had several people come to look at it and that is how I found about the weld seems at the back and a couple of other things that when anyone has one restored they have ground down flat. Mine is probably the only 69 that still has the original tires on it though. When I got home fromthe drive it has turned over 40,953 miles.

Tax Rebate

This morning President Bush said each one of us would get a $300.00 tax rebate. It was previously slated to be $800.00, but they dropped it to a $300.00 tax rebate because of various budget problems. Now, if we spend that money at Wal-Mart, all the money will go to China, if we spend it on computers, most of the money will go to Korea or India. If we spend it on gasoline it will all go to the Arabs .....and none of these scenarios will help the American economy.
We need to keep that money here in America .....so the only way to keep that money here at home is to drink beer, gamble, or spend it on prostitution. Currently it seems that these are the only businesses still in the U.S.

And I have already mowed once. Yesterday I just did the weed eating around the fence lines. We are supposed to have some showers this week so I will hold off on mowing again until I see if they happen. Also have to fill my gas cans for the lawnmower. :CRY:

The big difference between Ron's and mine is that his has a "R" code engine.
After changing the rear end to 4.10,a little warmer hyd. cam,headers,and a OEM Ford medium riser aluminium intake w/850 Holley double pumper it would go through the traps at Lion's Dragstrip at 118 mph in the low 12's.
It was my only car and I drove it to L.A. for a one year Auto Tech school an back to Dallas setup like that.

Barely making it across the deserts without running out of gas !!!:eek:

Did you sell yours there in Texas? There used to be an invitation only registry site for 69 Cobras on Yahoo way back before they changed everything around and I received an e-mail from the person running it asking me to join and send him the particulars about mine. I did, and then Yahoo changed everything around and I have never been able to find that site since, so it may not even still exist. But if it does, and whoever bought yours sent in the information you could probably find out what happened to it.

Cool. I like it. I already liked you, but now I really respect you. That car is probably 1 of a kind now and you are not afraid to drive it. I have always contended that cars are meant to be driven not sit in a warehouse somewhere. That is why I never had issues with Clones. Less valuable but still can get the same effect. Good job on snapping it up when you had the chance.

I just got through eating a bowl of chili left over from the other night. It was even better after sitting for a few days. :) Nice and hot. Now I may not have to stop and fill up the Mustang on the way home today. :JEKYLHYDE
