Without Kobe the Lakers would not even make the playoffs. Everyone else on the team are stiffs and will choke in the finals, especially after the refs handed them a couple of games against the Spurs.
It will be a great series.
Tru - How are the Red Wings doing? Have they won anything yet? I saw a program last night about giant boars. I think it was on the History channel.
Why do you need to buy a ton of corn? Did you run out of toilet paper again?

Boston is in mourning today due to a seven alarm fire yesterday. A wholesale and retail seafood business burned to the ground. They estimate that 40,000 pounds of live lobster were killed.
What a terrible way to die. As a card carrying member of the PETA organization (People Eating Tasty Animals), it would have been much more humane if they had died in boiling water, rather than an open flame.

Wings versus Pit - 2 - 1
The corn is feed.
Rained last night...finally. If it rains again today, most of the trees will not have to be watered for a week or more.
This seems to be the turning point, temps in the mid 70s.

Warren,
If you hurry you may be able to get a good price on salvaged lobster today. Darn, that is a lot of very tasty food gone.

Tru,
Just reading your post has made me tired. Time for another break I guess. It is sort of humid here today so I am staying inside more than normal.

It's saturday night with the Detroit Redwings!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You all need to tune in and watch this game.
Steve, I wouldn't use the rifles I used last time I was there, I would use a 338 or 358. I am not interested in chasing my meat across Texas.
I suppose I could use the ones I brought last time. Do you have a place to hunt?

No, I am just saying there are a lot of Boars here in Texas. There was a story of TV the other day that stated there are more here than anywhere else, and they are much bigger here than anywhere else. I have no idea if that is true, it is just what they said on the show.
I have a 7MM, I think that would bring down a Boar with no problems.

Marlborough is about 35 miles from my house. Although I do not personally know anything about the town or the people you mentioned, I am quite proficient in online searches for genealogical information.
Here are two pages with some good info on the city and the people you mentioned.

Are you researching your ancestors? I have extensively researched my family tree – just a little bit … I have over 10,000 names in my software program (Family Tree Maker).
I also found out that I am a descendant of a Mayflower passenger! So I ain’t just white trash! Tell that to BB and the Humpin’ Ho Sisters. That should impress them.

Well,I told them.
With the standards the Ho Sisters have, they say the jury is still out ,"Time will tell."
Now BB doesn't suffer from those high standards. She is so impressed she says you will not have to wear gloves now when you do the full body search on her.
Thanks for the links on the Brighams.
I ran across Asa Brigham and his being from up there when I was at Washington-on-the-Brazos during my first motorcycle tour this year. Not a relative, but close to one.
I'll get some info together on him for you.

Wing are now 3 - 1.
Monday night may be the night for the Stanley Cup in Detroit!!!!
Yes, there are a lot of pigs in Texas, your 7mm will just as a good a job as the two 30 06s I took. But, if you are going to shoot for the meat, you need to knock them over and make sure they are down...HENCE the 338.
Temps are going up this next week.

GMW
Another great day yesterday. Got a little warm (about 85°F) but it cooled down rapidly last evening. Went for what I thought would be a short ride ... it lasted 3 hours.
I changed the windows on the back porch from storm to screen. It was windy and one of the storm windows tipped over on the driveway. Glass went everywhere! Pissed me off.
OK Tru, I finally got my veggies planted. Cut way back this year. Just two different tomatoes (Big Boy and Sweet 100) and cucumbers.

Rough weekend for me. I found out that my uncle made Staff Sargent, but is going back to Iraq for the 3rd time (1 during desert storm, and now 2 times this round). Good news this time since he is an E8, he will be assigned operations duty at the command post. I am not sure where yet, but he leaves in October.
Thursday night there were tornados in Nebraska (were I grew up) and we still have not heard from a couple of family members. My sister tried to go to my uncle's farm on Friday, but the state troupers had the highway and back roads shut down. She didn't return my phone call yesterday, but she did tell me on saturday that the power and phone lines were down in that area. The good news is there are no reported deaths, and no John/Jane Does in the hospitals. It is just stressing until you hear their voices.
Last night, my bad ankle collapsed out from under me. I have had 2 surgeries on it so far, the last one 1/2 of my tendons were removed, and then the good ones were split up to even them out. My surgeon told me that if I take care of it, I will be lucky to last 5 years before they need to fuse it. That was in 99, so almost 9 years. This time it is very swollen and it did not go down overnight. there is brusing on both sides of my ankle, so i know it is injured pretty bad. I don't know if it will have to be fused or not, but I will have to make the appointment.

Guess that my broken window is a non-event compared to your weekend Joe. Hope everything turns out OK.

Joe,
Sorry to hear about that. I hope everything turns out well and you recover quickly. Keep us informed about how things are going and what the doctor says.
