Yep! I love spring and fall. Summer is OK as long as the humidity is down. Winter is just an excuse to do a lot of work inside the house that you put off during the rest of the year!

Its 8 AM and its 85°F already! Time to move to the North Pole.

It rained big time last night, the grass seed is really taking off.

My lawn may be repaired and back to normal in about two months...in time for fall.

I can remember the first of about 20 business trips to Houston area. It was the first week in Feb. I can remember walking from the hotel to the rental car, starting it up and putting on the defroster and A/C. It was 90°F and about 90% humidity at 7AM. In February!

If it wasn't for the invention of A/C, the southern part of USA would have maybe 1/2 the population it has now.

Its up to 90°F at 10AM, but its a nice 73°F inside the house.

Yesterday was a good day.

They had free hamburgers & hot dogs but I had to pass on them.
Hooters was there with free wings too.

After giving blood I went over to where Hooters was set up.
It was Hooters girls in very small bikinis doing the Harley washing.

As it was in the upper 90's,I got a plate of Wings,a lawn chair and found a shady area about 10 feet from where the action was.

Watching those girls in those bikinis spraying each other with the garden hoses to cool down while jiggling and wiggling cleaning those bikes was definitely inspiring.

I'm really glad I gave blood before witnessing all this for several hours. I think being a pint low saved be from building excessive blood pressure .

This really should be in the joke section but since Warren is such a golfer I thought I would post it here.

Subject: Golf

Subject: Golf Outing

A man goes to a public golf course. He approaches the man behind the counter in the pro shop and says, "I would like 18 holes of golf and a caddie."

The man behind the counter says, "The 18 holes of golf is no problem,
but all of the caddies are out on the course. What I will do for you
is this: We just received 8 brand new robot golf caddies. If you're
willing to take one with you out on the course and come back and tell
me how well it works, your round of golf is on me today."

The golfer obviously accepted the man's offer. He approached the first tee, looked at the fairway and said to himself, "I think my driver will do the job." The robot caddie turned to the man and said, "No sir. Use your 3
wood. A driver is far too much club for this hole." Hesitantly, the golfer pulled out his 3 wood, made good contact with the ball, and the ball landed about 10 feet to the right front of the hole on the green.

The golfer, delighted, turned to the robot and thanked him for his assistance. As the golfer pulled out his putter he said, "I think this green is
gonna break left to right." The robot then again spoke up and said, "No sir. I do believe this green will break right to left"

Thinking about the last time the robot corrected his prediction, he decided again to listen to the machine. He made his putt and birdied the hole thanks to the robot and his advice. But his luck didn't end there. His entire game was the best game he ever played, thanks to the assistance of the new robot golf caddie.

Upon returning to the clubhouse, the man behind the counter asked, "How was your game ?" The golfer stated, "It was, by far, the BEST game I ever played. Thank you very much for letting me take one of your robots. See you next week.

A week passed, and excited, the golfer returned to the pro shop. Upon entering, he turned to the man behind the counter and said, "I would like 18 holes of golf and one of those robot golf caddies, please."

The gentleman from behind the counter turned to the man and said, "Well the 18 holes is no problem. However, we had to get rid of the robots. We had too many complaints."

Confused, the golfer cried, "COMPLAINTS? Who in the heck could've complained about those robots? They were incredible" The man sighed and said, "Well, it wasn't their performance. It was that they were made of shiny silver metal, and the sun reflecting off them was blinding to other golfers on the fair way. "

The golfer said, "So then why didn't you just paint them black?"

The man nodded sadly and replied, "We did. Then four of 'em didn't show up for work, two filed for welfare, one of them robbed the pro shop, and the other is running for President."

With over 400 pics, i'm just sleeving them into 'a regular Wal~Mart type album'. They will be scrapbooked sometime. Probably a couple of years!!!

Drove hundreds if not a couple of thousands of km, without incident!! whew!!
For 13 of us, the trip was quite nice and adventurous!

glad to be home, but heading to Tulsa later this week.
trying to work out the details for that. Always something!

Memories.....

'Someone asked the other day, 'What was your favorite fast food when you were growing up?'

'We didn't have fast food when I was growing up,' I informed him. 'All the food was slow.'

'C'mon, seriously. Where did you eat?'

'It was a place called 'at home,'' I explained. 'Grandma cooked every day and when Grandpa got home from work, we sat down together at the dining room table, and if I didn't like what she put on my plate I was allowed to sit there until I did like it.'

By this time, the kid was laughing so hard I was afraid he was going to suffer serious internal damage, so I didn't tell him the part about how I had to have permission to leave the table. But here are some other things I would have told him about my childhood if I figured his system could have handled it:

Some parents NEVER owned their own house, wore Levis, set foot on a golf course, traveled out of the country or had a credit card. In their later years they had something called a revolving charge card. The card was good only at Sears Roebuck. Or maybe it was Sears AND Roebuck. Either way, there is no Roebuck anymore. Maybe he died.

My parents never drove me to soccer practice. This was mostly because we never had heard of soccer. I had a bicycle that weighed probably 50 pounds, and only had one speed, (slow). We didn't have a television in our house until I was 11, but my grandparents had one before that. It was, of course, black and white, but they bought a piece of colored plastic to cover the screen. The top third was blue, like the sky, and the bottom third was green, like grass. The middle third was red. It was perfect for programs that had scenes of fire trucks riding across someone's lawn on a sunny day Some people had a lens taped to the front of the TV to make the picture look larger.

I was 13 before I tasted my first pizza, it was called 'pizza pie.' When I bit into it, I burned the roof of my mouth and the cheese slid off, swung down, plastered itself against my chin and burned that, too. It's still the best pizza I ever had.

We didn't have a car until I was 15. Before that, the only car in our family was my grandfather's Ford. He called it a 'machine.'

I never had a telephone in my room. The only phone in the house was in the living room and it was on a party line. Before you could dial, you had to listen and make sure some people you didn't know weren't already using the line.

Pizzas were not delivered to our home. But milk was.

All newspapers were delivered by boys and all boys delivered newspapers I delivered a newspaper, six days a week. It cost 7 cents a paper, of which I got to keep 2 cents. I had to get up at

4 AM every morning. On Saturday, I had to collect the 42 cents from my customers. My favorite customers were the ones who gave me 50 cents and told me to keep the change. My least favorite customers were the ones who seemed to never be home on collection day.

Movie stars kissed with their mouths shut. At least, they did in the movies. Touching someone else's tongue with yours was called French kissing and they didn't do that in movies. I don't know what they did in French movies. French movies were dirty and we weren't allowed to see them.

If you grew up in a generation before there was fast food, you may want to share some of these memories with your children or grandchildren. Just don't blame me if they bust a gut laughing.

Growing up isn't what it used to be, is it?

MEMORIES from a friend:

My Dad is cleaning out my grandmother's house (she died in December) and he brought me an old Royal Crown Cola bottle. In the bottle top was a stopper with a bunch of holes in it. I knew immediately what it was, but my daughter had no idea. She thought they had tried to make it a salt shaker or something. I knew it as the bottle that sat on the end of the ironing board to 'sprinkle' clothes with because we didn't have steam irons. Man, I am old.

Tru had a lot of excitement yesterday.

if you have been watching the weather,you might have heard about the damage yesterday around Tru's area from T'storms and tornados.

Tru had one go over his house.
He an family are fine.
The most damage is to his trees.
He said one was snapped 20 feet up and the other 80 feet damaged a lot of his newly planted (yearlings) tree.

Says "Yeah, we are alive, but we have about a months worth of cleanup with the trees down."

I remember all but two or three. I do not remember Black Jack chewing gum, but I do remember when Double Bubble was so big you had to bite into two peices so you could get it in your mounth. Two for a penny. Now they are about six cents each and are the size of peas.

good luck with the cleanup Tru. Tornados suck. Been through several when I was a kid in Nebraska. Had one about 1/2 mile from my house last month as well.
