Tru - glad everyone is safe. Never been thru a tornado, and do not want to ever. Never been in an earthquake either. I think I'll just stay here and dodge the occasional hurricane. They move a lot slower than earthquakes and tornadoes, and I'm not exactly a track star!
Ron - all 25 for me, so I must be petrified.
How come no comment about the LA Fakers? I thought the Celtics were going to let the game slip away in the 4th quarter!
Joe - is your A/C still working? Its only 102°F here this afternoon per the weather channel. But it's only a balmy 98°F on the back porch.
Steve - you are probably right about Fred. Seeing the Hooter girls after hanging around with BB must have been like (fill in your punch line here).

I'm at work, the network is down at our house for a while.
We lost around 20 good size trees. Fred tried to warn us of the storm, but we were already watching.
They say it sounds like a train coming at you. I think that is close. It was a full roar when it came at us. We ran for cover and watched out the front.
Thanks for the support, I will be cutting for a while.

Tru,
I am glad that you didn't have more damage and that no one got hurt. I talked to my cousin in Arkansas and he has been cleaning up for the last week trees that were blown down and broken in his yard and on the farms. He is going to rent a bulldozer and push what is left off down into a small holler and burn them this Winter. His wife is mad as they completely destroyed all of her flower beds and hedges she has worked so long and hard on. But fortunately, only one tree got close to the house and he said the limbs were against the side of it.
Warren,
The Lakers have choked and are now out of it. I expect the Celtics to win in 5 now. Disgusting to lose to a team from a coast that can't even keep track of their light houses.
Steve,
I remembered all of the old stuff. Some of it was so new to me that I had trouble understanding it when it first came out.

Yes,it was a remarkable change !
I had a lot better time than Biker Babe.
First, she was more than a little intimidated by the very nice hooters..err..Hooters girls.
Second, she was pretty embarrassed by several bikers after they gave blood.
Seems they were a little light headed after giving blood.
A number of them climbed on her back and were trying to ride off before they lost control and were thrown off.
They were very sorry about the mix up,they thought she was new '09 model Hog sitting outside as a Demo.
It worked out all right, they were able to get their own blood back at no charge.

Boy, do I love a sea breeze. Got up to 104°F with a SW wind. About 4 o'clock, the wind shifted ... coming from the east. Within 10 minutes, the temperature dropped down to about 82°F.
I finally pinned down my accountant sister today. She promised we will do my taxes on Thursday night. I need that $600 rebate for gas! Hope that I do not have to send a check with the forms.
Ron - the LA Fakers did not choke. They just ran into a superior team. The defense the Celtics have been playing has been suffocating (except for the last 8 minutes last night).
Tomorrows temp is supposed to be only 94°F. We're having a heat wave , a tropical heat wave .... all together now ....

The referees decided to inject themselves into the NBA Finals with their non-calls, and "ticky-tack" fouls on the Lakers.
The amounts of free throws by the two teams was off by a factor of five (32-6) at one point. When the referees DONT call the game on a consistent basis, the whole game suffers.
The Celtics suffered one of the worst near-collapses in Finals history.
I will say the Finals goes Seven games, with (hopefully) the Lakers winning it all.

Warren,
The referees should be wearing Celtic uniforms. I was just trying to be nice. I just hope the referees out here call the game the way yours did back there.
It is just 93 here but really humid and I have a little sunburn for a few minutes out in this. I need to mow the weeds in the yard again but no way in this heat and dust. Part of the country is flooding and we are burning up and nearly out of water.

Ron & Warren,
That is one thing I really like about Hawaii - the trade winds. My house
is about 1/2 mile from the ocean and as long as the trades are blowing it
is nice and cools down at night. When the trades stop it gets more like the
mainland in the summer as in hot and humid but 91 0r 92 degrees is about
as hot as I've ever seen it.

Fred - good one.
I'll be paying a quick visit to my Texas home in Montgomery in a little over
a week. I'm guessing I'll have a warm drive down to it from Grapevine in
my new to me KMP 142. My plan is an early start Sunday am to beat
the heat. I have been hearing about that Texas warmth!

Boo Hoo, losers always blame something other than themselves for losing ... never praising the winners.
The LA Fakers were just outclassed and were outplayed by a better team. The Celtics were more aggressive and continually drove to the basket and got fouled. The Lakers just took it easy and shot mostly jump shots .. and you usually do not get fouled on jump shots.
The Lakers may win a game or two out in La La Land to make it interesting.

Dial up? OMG ... my condolences. Do you have the new-fangled hamster powered computer? It might be faster if you sent messages to the Internet via BB and the Humpin' Ho Sisters. Then you might pick up some spare change when they return.

Fred - you be right - #142 was Budman's. I have been on the lookout
for a Kirkham for a few years and my patience rewarded me. The bummer
is having to wait this long to get it but there is scheduling work time off, getting plane tickets and all the rest of the stuff required to visit the mainland.
Great excuse to visit my new house and pick up my baby and my wife gets
to go shopping for more new furniture so everyone is happy. Now I have a
great reason to get back as often as possible, not that I don't have reason
enough already. I am truly looking forward to this visit.

Got me a new truck!
I bought a new GMC Sierra and returned to the dealer
yesterday because I couldn't get the radio to work.
The salesman explained that the radio was voice activated.
'Nelson,' the salesman said to the radio. The radio
replied, 'Ricky or Willie?'
'Willie!' he continued and 'On The Road
Again' came from the speakers.
Then he said, 'Ray Charles!', and in an instant
'Georgia on My Mind' replaced Willie Nelson.
I drove away happy, and for the next few days, every time
I'd say, 'Beethoven,'
I'd get beautiful classical music, and if I said,
'Beatles,' I'd get one of their awesome songs.
Yesterday, some Mexicans ran a red light and nearly creamed
my new truck, but I swerved in time to avoid them.
I yelled, 'Ass Holes!'
Immediately the Iranian National Anthem began to play, sung
by Jane Fonda and Barbara Streisand, backed up by Michael
Moore and The Dixie Chicks, with John Kerry on guitar, Al
Gore on drums, Dan Rather on harmonica, Nancy Pelosi on
tambourine, Harry Reid on spoons, Bill Clinton on sax and
Ted Kennedy on Scotch.
Damn, I LOVE this truck!

Your new place in Texas sounds nice and congratulations on the KMP. You will really enjoy it in that Texas 100+ degree, humid heat. Of course I am sure that Fred would loan you the Humpin Ho Sisters for a long ride.

Thunderstorms here today. Started yesterday afternoon.
Quite interesting at work yesterday. One of our vendors got raided by INS and over 80 people were taken away. We had our suspicions but had no proof or reason to ask. Now, we are wondering how they are going to get the work done as that is about 1/4 - 1/3 of their work force. Unfortunately, I wasn't the popular vote when I said it is their problem not ours, if they don't get the work done, fine them as per the contract. I don't feel we should give them a break when they caused this by breaking the law. But I am sure we will.

Tru,
Are your trees this big? Notice the chips as they had to cut them by hand back then.
