Ron,
I see from the picture you finally found someone to cut your sweet Thistle.

KMP142@ is indeed a sweet ride. I know Budman has taken very good care of that car. You will not be disappointed in the car.

Joe,
I agree with you it's their fault and they should be penalized for the inability to keep up. If we as contractors hire illegals we may be fined $10K per hire. I do not feel sorry for them as they are cheating Americans out of jobs by hiring illegals.

Tru,
I hope all is still OK with you and your family. Some of the pictures on the Boob Tube were devastating.

Who are the Celtic's? Is that a new fast food chain? (yes, I am kidding)

We cut one tree for three hours. Still isn't done.

I have enough wood for the winter and maybe into the following winter...the wood barn is almost full.

Tru,

Once the wood is all cut you can enjoy the Summer. I talked to my cousin in Arkansas last night and he still has a lot of clean up to do on his farms. He said a tornado went over their house but never touched down, but he has trees down everywhere. And he is trying to get his hay done but every time he mows a big field it starts raining.

Tell him I said "good luck".

Some guys have the first cutting done around us, but with this daily rain, nothing has been cut for a week.

Well he finally got his first two big fields baled and into the barn, but he said he has about 30 acres of cut grass and it was raining all day so he has to let that dry before he can rake it and bail it. Then he has to move on to the next fields. Last year the rain came every time he would cut a field and by the time he finally got most of them baled and in, he had to start over with the first one. One farm he just had to let one of the big fields go and he said he just took a brush hog and cut it and left everything as it was to wet to use.

Just found out that the center that had all the illegals arrested, had 30 more people not show up for work today. They are actually asking for more money so they can pay the fines from the government.

Can you say

"Closed"

Besides doing so would make you an accomplice, wouldn't it? ????????

Oh, I am sure we will end up paying the fine for them. The owner of the company used to be the plant manager in Korea. Every time they do something that costs us money and would get any other company fired, HQ tells us that we have to fix it and cannot blame it on them. Get this, I have been told that I should not have let the customer find out about it. Things are supposed to be a certain way and the product is not that way, the customer is going to notice it.

That's in Washington, not Texas. It's in the Mid 90's here too.

GMW,

Supposed to be another hot and humid day here today. Didn't get the lawns mowed yesterday and now I do need a tractor for the upper lot and driveway. sinuses were bad as the wind blew hard and now I have a slightly infected inner ear which is making me dizzy. I know Warren, I am always that way, but now I have a medical excuse. supposed to just take it easy for a day or so until it clears out. amazing that the older I get and the worse my health fails, the easier it is for me to put stuff off and not worry about it. I did get my new glasses and they help with just the min or lens adjustments I had to have. I can now read the bill from the eye doctor.

this morning it is in the upper 70s and so humid that you start sweating within just a moment of walking outside. Going to be such a lovely day.

Remembering Life Before The Computer

1. Memory was something that you lost with age.

2. An application was for employment.

3. A program was a TV show.

4. A cursor used profanity.

5. A keyboard was a piano.

6. A web was a spider's home.

7. A virus was the flu.

8. A CD was a bank account.

9. A hard drive was a long trip on the road.

10. A mouse pad was where a mouse lived.

11. And if you had a 3 1/2- inch floppy ... you just hoped no one found out!

Well the heat wave is supposed to be broken today. After 5 days with temps above 90°F, the hi temp today is supposed to be a balmy 89°F.

Now that the refs gave last nights game to the LA Fakers ....

They estimate that the home team for a "final series" NBA game makes over $1M in profit from just ticket sales.

We have a Severe weather alert here today. It is supposed to be in the low 90s with a light wind. I just don't understand their so called severe alerts for something like that.

Wow Ron, sounds like it is time to batten down the hatches. We get those from time to time also. I don't understand them either. Maybe it is such a drop in temp that they thought it might freeze?

Joe,

It sure doesn't make sense to me. But then our weather forecasts have always seemed off to me. I saw in the paper this morning that the farmers here are hoping the Federal Govt. will help them out as they are having to pay so much for hay because of the drought they can't sell their cattle for enough to break even as the costs would be passed on to the consumers and they are afraid everyone will quit eating beef and start eating chickens.
Also they had two house fires close to me and things are so bad they had the forestry fire planes dumping retardant on them and the area around them to make sure no fire got to the brush. That is unheard of to call out those planes for a house fire.

Now that is crazy.

On another crazy note, I think it is time to move on when the HR director starts telling all salary employees that they need to start working longer and harder. This is just weeks after we worked until 3 AM to completely redo the manufacturing line each night for a week. Really insulting to have him look right at us and say that.
