And just what is working longer and harder supposed to accomplish besides getting everyone tired and worn out until they start making mistakes that will cost the company more in the long run?
Maybe you could get a job in Canada on the Ice Truck Drivers show. I always watch that and even if I was a truck driver, they couldn't pay me enough to drive over that ice. And the next shows they are supposed to be driving over the frozen ocean. One driver was talking about being able to feel the ice move as the waves under it went by.

Joe,
Unfortunately that is corporate mentality. They do not give a rats a$$ about the employees or their families. They work you into the ground and then turn you loose and hire someone cheaper to sit on their a$$ and watch the machines that you set up do the work. Of coare all the while they take credit for getting the job done. What a joke.
It amazes me that the big CEO's are getting millions and hundreds of millions in bonuses while the worker bees are having their pay cut to the bone. It is America's corporate mentality and it bites.

Well, I thought I had a line on a job that is in the same industry but completely different, but the call that was going to happen Friday afternoon/Monday morning turned into Tuesday, and still Wed afternoon and nothing. It would have gotten me completely out of the office environment and into field work. I can't say that I am real surprised, I don't have direct experience with the job (Mobile phone Network side), but I have worked on the Mobile phones for 10 years now, much of the stuff is the same as it is the same signal from both ends. The data side is where I do not have direct experience. I am assuming that they found enough people that have direct experience.

They estimate that the home team for a "final series" NBA game makes over $1M in profit from just ticket sales.

I dont believe these refs!!! They are letting guys get mauled in the paint, but they rarely call moving screens. I hope the refs just let them play, and call only the most heinous fouls, none of this ticky-tack stuff.
AND, there was only a 48 hour period between game 2 on the East Coast, and game 3 on the West. BOTH teams played sloppily, with most of the starters on both sides playing poorly.
Hope it goes seven games!!!

Joe,
If you are posting from work, what are the chances your bosses may find them ?
I just don't want you to get in a jam is the reason I ask.

From what I hear that is a tough field to be in right now. Good luck in your search.

Steve & Warren,
I have some very sad news for y'all concerning Biker Babe.
One of y'alls favorite pictures of her got:booted, kick off, thrown out, shown the door, don't let the door hit you on the way out, adios and banned from Club Cobra.
You know, the one of her at the bottom of a deep knee bend toning up for her visit with Warren in April....wearing her favorite thong.
It was determined that y'alls favorite was tarnishing Club Cobras image world wide.
I have to agree. That is what she does second best.

Fred,
That sounds like the club. As for BB, I am like Steve, I don't recall seeing that picture. Must really be bad if Warren likes it.

Don't blame me. I'm only aware of two pictures of BB, and they were not the same person and NOT per Fred's description above.
GMW. It's 63°F and very low humidity. I took two rides yesterday. I got tons of "Nice car!" comments. Forecast is for high temp of 78°F so I may just go for a long ride today.

I didn't post that from work. I used my phone to post it while I was out waiting to pick up some stuff.

Joe,
If you work longer and harder, you will have more time for posting.
And on that note, another one of the older businesses in this area just went out of business this week. They only had around 12 employees, but that is 12 more out of work up here. Stated that the high cost of state mandated stuff, whatever that means, I would guess insurance, workers comp., and etc, plus the price of fuel and operating expenses was more than they could keep up with. I think at their peak they once employed around 25/30 people.

We hear ya Ron. Another massage parlor about 2 miles from my house just closed up yesterday. A man contacted the police saying that after he got his $70 massage, the girl grabbed his manhood and said "Would you like anything else?" So the cops sent in an undercover detective and they shut it down for prostitution. The detective quoted in the newspaper said that he had been involved in about 20 cases of prostitution in massage parlors.
Boy, my muscles are really stiff and tired after my Cobra rides. Has anyone got a good idea how to relax tired muscles?

Warren,
Nope, I kept them for a backup pair as they only had to make some minor adjustments to the lens and I wear them when I am working on something so if I hit them or chip a lens it will be the old one.
And I have seen that picture of BB that you said you didn't remember seeing. I figured that you took it while she was staying with you.

NEVER KNEW THIS BEFORE
I wonder how many people know about this ~
A 36 year old female had an accident several weeks ago and totaled
her car. A resident of Kilgore, Texas she was traveling between
Gladewater & Kilgore. It was raining, though not excessively, when her
car suddenly began to hydro-plane and
literally flew through the air. She was not
seriously injured but very stunned at the sudden occurrence!
When she explained to the highway
patrolman what had happened he told
her something that every driver should know - NEVER DRIVE IN THE RAIN
WITH YOUR CRUISE CONTROL ON. She thought she was being cautious by
setting the cruise control and maint aining a safe
consistent speed in the rain.
But the highway patrolman told her that
if the cruise control is on when your car begins to hydro-plane andyour tires lose contact with the pavement, your car will accelerate to
a higher rate of speed
making you take off like an airplane.
She told the patrolman that was exactly
what had occurred.
The patrolman said ! this warning should be
listed, on the driver's seat sun-visor -
NEVER USE THE CRUISE CONTROL WHEN THE PAVEMENT IS WET OR ICY, along
with the airbag warning. We tell our teenagers to set the cruise
control and
drive a safe speed - but we don't tell them to use the cruise control
only when the pavement is dry.
The only person the accident victim
found, who knew this (besides the patrolman), was a man who had had
a similar accident, totaled his car and
sustained severe injuries.
NOTE: Some vehicles (like the Toyota
Sienna Limited XLE) will not allow you to set the cruise control when
the windshield wipers are on.

I knew that, but I grew up in Nebraska where snow and ice are common in the winter. If the car slides at all and looses any speed the cruise control will attempt to speed the car up, causing the tires to slide more and you will run into the same thing as a stuck throttle and there is nothing you can do about it.

Joe,
I don't have a car with cruise control and didn't know that actually. I have driven a lot in snow and ice, but I did it the old fashion way by slowing down and using common sense. And before you start laughing, I do have a small amount of common sense.

STRESS?
I am not sure exactly how this works, but this is amazingly accurate.
The picture below has 2 identical dolphins in it. It was used in a case study on stress levels at the Mayo Clinic and later at Fletcher Medical Center in Burlington .
Look at both dolphins jumping out of the water. The dolphins are identical. A closely monitored scientific study revealed that, in spite of the fact that the dolphins are identical, a person under stress will find many differences between the two dolphins.
< BR>The more differences a person finds, the more stress that person is experiencing.
Look carefully at the photograph below, and if you find more than one or two differences you may need to take a vacation.
No Need to Reply; I'll be on Vacation.
Never take life too seriously. Nobody gets out of it alive anyway.
