Don't worry Warren. The Celtics will win the next game. They just wanted to win the championship at home. The Lakers have been a real flop in this series.
I didn't even watch the game as I was watching the U.S. Open and today they have the play off. I don't believe I have ever seen so many top players play so badly. Tiger is my favorite but I think he should throw that dam driver into the ocean.

Joe,
I saw your post to Steve yesterday that the ankle is coming along well. That is great news. Hope it is soon back to normal and you can run and jump like always.

Well, I haven't been able to run and jump since I hurt it the first time, so I am just hoping I don't have to always wear the brace. I am just happy as hell I don't need surgery.

Anything beats the surgery if you can avoid it. My doctor had me wear a brace on my knee for 8 months when I tore all the cartilage away from the back of it to let it attach itself back to the bone naturally as he said if I had surgery on it, the knee would never be a strong and would possibly tear again. That was a long time ago when I played racket ball and was in the upper rankings. And even after it was completely healed it took me another six to eight months to not take it easy on that leg.

Well, I am a proud owner of a HD log splitter.
The oil cost so much, I had to finance it.
Tonight is the "clean the Cobra for the London run" night. It is a mess with the rain and mud being what it is.
Warren, are you running to London to hang with the group?

Tru,
Have a great time at London. It has been many years since I was in that area.
Copied this from a post over on CHR just to remind you to watch what you spend.
You Think A Gallon Of Gas (or nitro) Is Expensive?
This made me think, and put things in perspective.
Diet Snapple 16 oz $1.29 ........$10.32 per gallon
Lipton Ice Tea 16 oz $1.19 ......$ 9.52 per gallon
Gatorade 20 oz $1.59 .............$10.17 per gallon
Ocean Spray 16 oz $1.25 .......$10.00 per gallon
Brake Fluid 12 oz $3.15 ..........$33.60 per gallon
Vick's Nyquil 6 oz $8.35 .........$178.13 per gallon
Pepto Bismol 4 oz $3.85 ........$123.20 per gallon
Whiteout 7 oz $1.39 ...............$25.42 per gallon
Scope 1.5 oz $0.99 ................$84.48 per gallon
and this is the REAL KICKER......
Evian water 9 oz for $1.49 ......$21.19 per gallon

They charge that much because we keep buying it!
If we would stop buying this crap at these ridicules prices, things would get back in line.
I saw where the KING of Saudi will increase production to stabilize the prices.

I don't run anywhere. Sorry, but no trip to London this year. I really want to level off my back yard, build a two car garage with a lift, getting a trailer (Serpent Express) and a new vehicle to tow the trailer and my Cobra or my 70 Olds 442.
As a matter of fact, I have to sell some mutual funds in my brokerage account cuz my checking account is approaching zero.
I'm also getting close to the 2500 mile limit on my collector car insurance, so driving to Ohio would kill that idea. I "might" drive down to the SAAC meet in NJ or drive up to Vt for the Cobras in The Mountains.
Regarding the log splitter. I have a good friend who built a log splitter from scratch using a small trailer as the base ... with a VW engine for power. This contraption will split a Sequoia like a toothpick. What a monster machine!

BTW, speaking of fuel prices, my neighbor fills his Natural Gas powered Civic with natural gas at home: $0.63 a gallon equivalent! That's $0.03 or less a mile for fuel! Prices vary widely in the USA but here in UT that cost is for real at the moment.
This is a domestic resource: We import around 2% of our natural gas via LNG tankers, most of it coming from Trinidad in the Carribean. The other 98% is from the US/Canada. Please click on "Natural Gas Myths at the web site of The American CleanSkies Foundation.
Here is John Mitton's Honda being refueled at home down the street from me:
Great commuter car! If that fuel was available everywhere, maybe roadster conversions are in our future! 130 octane, too!!

Larry,
A couple of questions. First what distance or mileage does he get on the car? Second, where I live there is no natural gas line close and it would cost a fortune to have them run one to my house, so do they plan to have commercial outlets available anytime soon?
Thanks,
Ron

Ron, if you want some natural gas, I've got plenty! I can also provide you additional supplies on a daily basis!
Lousy weather yesterday - foggy and rain. Supposed to be the same all week, but at least the temps will only be in the low 70's.
Get ready for a Celtics party tonight
(I hope)

The VW engine splitter is a good design. there are a few plans on the net for those who are willing to do the work. I priced out the steel and when I found this unit, I really felt I could not do better.
My cost of steel was like $211.00, engine, new, was $550.00 Then there was a cylinder, that was $180.00. Then you need a pump, valve, tires and hardware. All in all, way over the price of the powder coated unit I purchased.
Warren, I was sort looking forward to seeing you in London, sorry you can't make it. Tell us about your barn or garage.

Warren,
Do you need money? I just received a windfall in the mail from a lawsuit that I never even knew about. I believe the letter said it was settled in 1998 and it was against the old Cable TV company that we had here originally. The amount was $13.34. The girl at the bank hadn't even heard of that company and I told her it had been sold at least twice since they had it here. I still don't know what the lawsuit was all about as the letter didn't go into any detail. Oh well, what to do with this unexpected windfall. Buy a Kirkham or get enough gas to fill the lawnmower.
Post some pictures of your garage work as it progresses.

I checked online for unclaimed money and I found out that my wife has $2.00 from the state of California owed to her. Of course it will cost me $5.00 to claim it.

Joe,
Just send me $4 dollars and I will send you the $2 dollars and you will save a dollar plus the hassle dealing with the state.

Joe,
That is funny. The same thing for me a few years ago. It seems a bank was paying me interest on an account that my dad had when he passed away and I was the beneficiary. After five or six years it had amounted to about $6.00 because they were feeing the account every month as well. Go figure, banks & excessive fees, never heard those two words in the same sentence before
Tru,
Congrats on the spliiter. You needed one!
I wonder if I can put natural gas on my Diesel??? It gets @20MPG now but at almost $5.00 a gallon. Heck, it cost fifty dollars to go to the gas station.

A little light chat to stop the serious stuff. Computer Problems: For Tru's Benefit:
I was having trouble with my computer.
So I called Richard , the 11 year old next door, whose bedroom looks like
Mission Control, to come over.
Richard clicked a couple of buttons and solved the problem.
As he was walking away, I called after him, "So, what was wrong?"
"It was an ID ten T error," he replied.
I didn't want to appear stupid, but nonetheless inquired, "An, ID ten T error?
What's that ... uh ... in case I need to fix it again?"
Richard grinned ... "Haven't you ever heard of an ID ten T error before?"
"No," I replied.
"Write it down," he said, "and I think you'll figure it out."
So I wrote down: I D 1 0 T .....
I used to like Richard.

Hey Tru & Rest,
Try this one to see about where you live. I was surprised at the information it gave on Shasta Lake.

Yep, I can't lie she was in the birthing room when I was born and was amazed at just how big it was to be only seconds old.
