I have lived here 41 years and have only felt, maybe 3 earthquakes and one of them was on a offshore oil rig, I will take them over snow any day LOL

I bet after all these years, being home alone for an extended period of time is something that might take a few days to get used to.

"ah, Fred, ol buddy- you'd be my first call...."
Alright, you know the number.I'll make good on your bail.
BUT, only once aday.

Yep,still at the beach. Josh and I will be down here for several more weeks.
Driving lessons continue. We switch from the STi on the beach to our '76 Chevette Scooter 4-speed for driving on city streets.A lot easier for him to drive and control on the streets.
This car has been the 'beach car' for over 20 years down here.
I'm pretty sure the water in the radiator is worth more than the car.

yes, D Ed continues with us, too. Our old jeep in Colorado is a stick, so I was hoping to teach Peter on it last week. I didn't get 'tuit', so I hope David does this week. I've generally put D Ed on the back burner, as he is entrenched in Scout stuff this summer. He went to summer camp, came home and the next day we left for CO. He will work on his Eagle project the next two weeks (when he gets home), and then he leaves for Philmont July 26. Comes home from that, finishes the Eagle project, spends the last few days finishing his modules on D Ed., and then back to school! He didn't have much down time at home this summer, and I hope he is fishing every waking minute right now. That is his dream. He loves to fish, fly-fishing especially! I think his ambition is to be a guide at Lake Fork, or Gunnison River, or Blue Mesa, or wherever he can get. Here in Texas would be secondary.

thanks for the offer to bail me out. 'thelma & louise' are going out tonight! hmmm. Where should we go??? any ideas?? Might just take the 'stang, too. (she's in the cobra all the time, right??)

lunch with girlfriend yesterday in downtown, dinner with Joanne tonight, lunch with another girlfriend tomorrow, and I am lovin' it. (Not the McDonald's lovin' it, though)
Think I'm gonna sneak in a little nap, then scrapbook a couple of hours, then head 'to town' this evening. Sounds like fun to me! Now I'm supposed to be cleaning out a couple of closets, too. ugh. Not today....

Don't get 'cooked' on the beach! Your hair is red enough!
seeya sometime.
we miss you.

Boy Kristen, you have to be one of the busiest people on the club right now. But it is nice to see you take time to post once in a while and keep us updated on your latest adventures. Although I don't know if I would call scrapbooking an adventure. More like way behind work to me.

Basically, I have two hobbies- the car and scrapbooking. Nothing is better than when I scrapbook the car!
All the other scrapbooking- kids, vacations, Christmas, etc., is fine, but the car book is up to date to the meeting two Saturday's ago!

I'm not as busy this summer- right now anyway- with the family still in Colorado. It'll hit the fan on Saturday.....

Fred- Joanne and I went to 'East Wind' on McKinney. Very nice. First off, ordered a 'green tea martini'. I've never had a martini in my life...... We were on a jaunt..... green tea is good for you, right???

Very smooth, didn't burn at all.... just had the one of course. I don't drink and drive. Anymore anyway.
She leaves for Joisey today. I'm off to the gym, then home to water the garden and pots on porch, then to pay bills. A 'home' day today. Lots of paperwork needs to get done and filed. I have these piles of stuff all over, and today is sort the stuff day. Having lunch with another best buddy tomorrow.
well I'll check in later!
Kristen

Yeah, I can see how the good things of green tea could get "enhanced" with a splash of alcohol.

Wow, what a day!!!!!

Fred,

Nice place you have there. I am sure the URJ has a 427 in it doesn't it. You wouldn't want to teach him to drive with an under powered vehicle.

Those photos are of my neighbors across the canal.

Just figured out this morning how to transfer pictures from my cellphone camera to my laptop by Bluetooth. Then from there to my CC gallery to a post.

took Pepe to my granny gym. Wow they loved it! Then I drove thru Chick-fil-A to get a tea... the owner comes out and says 'can I jump in?' I said sure!!! I said watch the pipes, but he laughed and didn't get in....
Now off to water. It's hot. Pepe goes back in the garage. I'm driving this baby Lexus thing while my Yukon is in Colorado. Maybe the Mustang today. Take a beach towel- those seats burn like he!!

I'm having fun not doing the things I set out to do this week.

Fred,

That is one nice place that you have there. Just be happy you don't have it here or the taxes would eat you up. I don't know if your property taxes are as bad as ours, but not many states are.

Kristen,

Have fun. Like Tru I have the towel thing down and have had for years. I even have a big red and white beach towel that I leave over the passenger seat all the time unless someone is riding with me. Nothing more fun that vinyl covered seats after a few hours in the 118 degree sun.

yup, surprisingly, they do.

At Target I found a sticker of a pink thong (flip flop). I'm actually thinking about sticking it on the wind wing, next to my 'Texas Cobra Club' sticker. Tacky, but meaningful.
the glasses are neat. With my hair flying around, it always seems to blow in my eyes, which really hurts! These look like regular sunglasses (as opposed to goggles) but have the foam around the eye pieces. Also, come with interchangeable lenses that are clear- so I can use them at night. I've had problems with my hair 'scratching' my eyes, and it really burns and makes my eyes water. At night I can't very well wear my sunglasses, so I'm hoping this will help solve my problem.
thanks to Fred who suggested it months and months ago. Eventually, I do get my little tasks done!
