Happy for the roof Ron. Supposed to be getting more rain today, but it was also supposed to rain last night, so we will see. If it does not rain today, I need to move my 2 trees tomorrow. The builder put 2 oak trees in my front yard. I am moving 1 to the back to help shade the house and the other to the center of the yard instead of 2 feet from the driveway. I want the water to drain away from the area around the gate. dragging the tree through there will be a pain as there is not much grass, mostly mud.

It was on a medical report I saw this morning about a recent study that had been done.Long term.
They found that people that ate peppers high in Capsaicin,the stuff that puts HOT in hot,regrew hair.

I have been eating at least one HOT Jalapeno everyday for ages.

I wear a goatee and I started to notice spots of baldness starting to creep into it as well as other parts of my face. I thought it odd, so I asked my doctor at a visit. He thought it was just an extension of my balding on top. I later realized that it was the shaving cream I was using. It was not rinsing off very well and was clogging the pores and hair follicles. I used some of those face cleaners with a high alcohol content and the problem went away. Sounds like your friend had a similar problem where the follicles and pores were clogged. The alcohol cleaned them out and allowed the hair to grow again.

I really do like hot peppers but Jalapeno's are not considered hot but some standards. They are plenty hot enough for me though.

They are also supposed to help curtail hunger and aid in digestion. Or so I have heard.

My hair seems to be getting thinner everday.

Could be. I have no idea why it worked but it did. Today he has a full head of very thick hair. Go figure.

I would suggest y'all eat more peppers and rub Habanero Sauce on your heads.

If hot would make your hair grow, that salsa that I tried to eat at the Mexican Cafe in Pasadena would have made me have hair down to my waist. It was so hot I swear the chips crumbled when they touched it.

Fred, I eat plenty of peppers. Some baldness can't be stopped. I figured it out though, those that are sexy bald, nothing will stop it from happening those that are not sexy, Mother Nature feels sorry for them and trys to help in anyway possible to help them feel secure.

Yesterday was one hard day. We finally got tired of fighting to keep the 2 trees alive the builder gave us. After going to Home Depot and talking with them, we bought 2 Oak trees to replace the 2 that they gave us. After we got them home, I was able to just walk out there and pull the one out of the ground with no effort. The other took a little bit to get it out, but it was out in 5 min. Digging the hole in the front yard was another matter. Even with the rain we got, this clay sucks to dig by hand. Took about an 1 1/2 - 2 hours to get the hole dug. 20 min later the tree was in. I still have to do the one in the back yard. I went to sleep earlier than normal for a Saturday last night and woke up early. I may just get it done today if I can motivate myself out there this morning as soon as the sun comes up.

The front yard looks so much better with just the 1 tree in the center instead of 2 Oak trees in the small area too. Original plan was to move the 2 they gave us, but when we could not keep them alive, we just bought the 2 new ones. The tree that just came up with no effort was only dug about 8-10 inches down. All the roots were twisted together and not going down at all. The other was about twice as deep and the roots were just starting to take hold, but the tree was diseased and weak. For the most part it looked like the builders landscaper did not feel like digging that day.

Good luck with the new trees. Digging in clay can be a pain. We have hard pan out here and in some places it is deep and others it is about 1" below the top of the ground. I used to have to drive one of the big concrete form nail through it and then fill the holes with water and let them soak for a while. You could then just put a post hole digger bar in and break out a big chunk. Even the back hoe they used to dig my underground power and other lines had problems when he hit it and they just had to hammer at it until they could break off a piece.

Hope that you get the other tree planted today and that they both do great.

Last night my wife was talking about waiting till next weekend, and I am sure it would be fine in the pot for 1 more week, but I just want to get it done. I think I am about to get dressed and go do it. I didn't want to wake her though, so I have been waiting.

Joe - Glad you are doing the digging and not me. That clay must be tough stuff. I have great soil and just about anything will grow like a weed, including weeds. :o :o :o

Took a nice 4 hour ride to nowhere yesterday. Temp got up to about 80°F. Talk about being HOT. Whew! :LOL: :LOL: (are you enjoying your 100 degree days?)

All of a sudden, a cold front moved in and the temp dropped ten degrees and the clouds started to get really dark. So I decided to go home as I was about 30 miles away. It started to rain a little just after I got the car in the garage! Great timing. Just sprinkled on and off. An hour later ... one loud KABOOM ... and it poured for 15 minutes, then stopped and the sun came back out. What a weird afternoon. I do not remember any thunderstorm with only ONE bolt of lightning.

Forecast for next 10 days is sunny with high temp of 82°F on all ten days with a chance of scattered thunderstorms on only two of the ten days. Guess who will be going for a lot of rides? :p :p :p I just love having a hybrid Cobra that burns gas and rubber!

I like your definition of a hybrid. Also wish we had your weather. At 80° I would be wearing a jacket. Enjoy the rides. Boy, do I ever miss my Cobra and wish I had something to go for drives in when the weather cools off.
We had some more smoke yesterday.Must have blown in from a couple of the fires that are still going North west of us. But it wasn't bad. Just a little irritating to the eyes and throat.

Somebody on another thread had used that definition of a hybrid, so I stole it. :LOL: I used it about a week ago when idling next to a nice looking girl in a Prius. I said to her that "I have a hybrid, too ... it burns gas and rubber."

They started to dismantle the huge crane in the old Fore River Shipyard in Quincy. They sold the crane for $9M with a $1M cost to break it down and put it on barges to be shipped to a European shipyard. They have all kinds of cranes to hold it up, and started to take it down by removing the massive legs, one at a time. Once they get all 4 legs removed, then they will lower the superstructure to the ground. A couple of days ago, while they were removing the second of the 300 ft tall legs, it fell down, killing one of the workers. This is a pic from last year.

The crane will probably end up in China. I remember hearing that China has some 75 -80% of all the worlds cranes.

You know China does not care about saftey. I hate to hear about these kinds of accidents where someone is killed trying to work for a living.

Nope, it is being shipped to Europe. Of course, the shipyard is owned by Mitsubishi.

USA used to be big in shipbuilding but our labor costs are just too expensive to be competitive in the worldwide marketplace for big ships. On the other hand, we have tons of small boat makers (< 100 ft). Times change.

What is really interesting is that the shipyard was assessed for about $50M on the tax rolls when the last guy bilked the US gov't out of about $90M. The guy was supposed to open up the shipyard and build ships.

After that fiasco, they decided to auction off the property and buildings a couple of years ago. Unbelievably, a local car dealer won the sealed bid auction for only $9M. What a steal. He just sold the crane for $9M.

Well,it's time to go jumb on the Hog and go for a ride.......No,not Biker Babe (this time).
