Well kids, it's hot.

By Michigan standards, 96 is hot.

Got back without incident. I had a lot of people doing the thumbs up thingy.

Went through three rain storms and we ducked into a Shell Station to avoid the fourth down pour.

Nice pictures of the plane. I think that has to be the best type of flying, with the "open cockpit".

I'm not getting involved with the thong thingy. :D

wtm442 07-16-2006 03:25 PM

OK
Temps down to 86 ºF now ... guess I'll have to go for a ride. Got up to 92 this afternoon. I do not care about Ron's 115 ºF temp, cuz 92 is hot enough for me. Not really, cuz I stayed inside with the AC on and watched TV all day! That's what us retired folks do!

Think I'll go looking for a nice tunnel to drive thru :o :o :o :o :o

Ron61 07-17-2006 05:22 AM

Warren,

Geez, not going to collapse another tunnel so soon are you. Let them get the blame fixed on some worker for the first one before you start all over again. On the other hand, could you invite Ted Kennedy along for the ride?

Ron :JEKYLHYDE

trularin 07-17-2006 11:16 AM

Warren, I agree, 92 is hot enough.

I am now up to my eyeballs with work.

I may put the cobra up for the season.

wtm442 07-17-2006 01:03 PM

Work?

Tru
Work is a 4 letter word. Wash your mouth out with soap. I quit working about 5 years ago. Retiring early at 54 was the best decision I've made, even better than buying my Cobra. On second thought, maybe not :o :o

All work and no Cobra makes Tru a dull boy!!!!!!!:p :p :p

Temp here is 93 ºF. Maybe by 7 PM it will be down to 85 ºF in time for a quick ride, or I can get some thongs and used air freshners.

trularin 07-17-2006 05:01 PM

Warren, Bills and Bills are what I have to pay.

Two boys for college degrees will draw everything I make. But it is all good and I give to school with their future in mind.

The car cost a load of money for Insurance.

wtm442 07-17-2006 07:19 PM

2 kids in college will quickly drain any savings.

But insurance? I only pay $330 for an agreed $50K policy on my Cobra. That's cheap, especially in Taxxachusetts.

trularin 07-18-2006 05:48 AM

Insurance for me is much, much more. But, I like having the protection I pay for. :D

Ron61 07-18-2006 06:03 AM

Yea, the Mafia has raised their rates lately. But hang in there Tru and they will take care of you.

Warren,

I still think you should load up your Cobra and come out here for a week or so and see why we don't do so much driving. It was 114 here yesterday and humid and only got down to 88 last night and was humid all night. If that isn't enough, I always look at the Fresno area weather as I used to live down there and they are in about the same shape. So you could go down there and drive through that valley of fruit orchards and desert. Of course up here you could be at Lassen or Mt. Shasta muich quicker than you can get to snow down there. I would go up to Lassen and enjoy a day in the 25 foot snow and cool air, but I don't know if I couild survive the heat to get there and then coming back down into the valley after a day there would be really bad.

Ron

hey,littlecobra 07-18-2006 06:16 AM

too hot here. Over 100* yesterday, probably got down to 85* at night. Hot already, sitting out on the front porch. ugh.
seeya! This is a busy week- scout stuff and two camps. Plus, VBS. (vacation Bible School) at night.
Peter speaks at Kiwanis club today. Hmm. unless it's Rotary, but I think that's Thursday. Lions Club tomorrow. And, both boys are doing a merit badge class in the mornings, all week. Peter just needs 4 badges- then he's done! His Eagle Project is Saturday. Then, he leaves for Philmont on Wednesday. Lots to do!
#2 has football camp in the afternoons this week.
#3 has art camp.
my insurance on cobra is what I consider to be high.

Ron61 07-18-2006 07:49 AM

Kristen,

You just have to much to do and that is why you think 105 is hot. Take a break and enjoy some 115/119 degree days with humidity and nights that don't get below 85 with humidity. No one out here is doing any driving at all unless they have to and only in air conditioned cars and my 65 Comet doesn't have air. I was out in this sun for about 20 minutes tops yesterday and both of my arms are sun burned and already starting to peel so the new sun burn can get to the top. Have a great day.

Ron :JEKYLHYDE

wtm442 07-18-2006 09:59 AM

Heck, only 96 ºF here at 1 PM. Might get to 100 ....

but its about 74 with the AC on. Guess I might forgo my Cobra fix today, since the dewpoint is about 72 ºF. Cut the air with a dull knife.

trularin 07-18-2006 10:59 AM

Yeah, above 90 is hot. I must be old or sumthin.

:D

wtm442 07-18-2006 02:52 PM

Your probably "sum thin guy". Are you Chinese? That reminds me. Time for supper, but its 93 ºF outside ... too hot to cook.

I could have Kristen's favorite ... PNB & J .... naaaaaaa

Guess I'll call up and have pizza delivered ... better yet ... Chinese food.

Yum...Yum... :3DSMILE: :3DSMILE: :3DSMILE: :3DSMILE:

My right index finger is the best cook this side of ......

trularin 07-18-2006 03:33 PM

German American Indian.

wtm442 07-19-2006 07:24 PM

Austrian and English, here. As a matter of fact, my bloodline traces back to a passenger on the Mayflower. That means I ain't white trash.:p :p

Temp of 66 ºF when I got back from a cruise night tonight. Thats more like it. Yesterday was 100+. Supposed to be in the low 80's for a week or so.

Yessssssssssssssssssss:D :D :D

trularin 07-20-2006 11:10 AM

RAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!

There is rain.

Going to start on my deck. Wife has wanted a deck for years, finally going to start one.

:D

Ron61 07-20-2006 11:17 AM

Warren,

Maybe I knew your ancestor on the Mayflower. There were several Austrains, Germans, and others on board. It is just in the 105 to 112 range here now,but add the heat index to that and it is to hot. I had planned to take the 69 in this week to see if we could locate the oil drip but it is just to hoht to even drive it. Besides the little that seems to drip out will blow back and keep everything else under the car lubericated. :D

Tru,

You wait for RAIN to build a deck. In the Winter here when we are having out 60 plus inches of rain you could build a castle.

Ron :p

flipper35 07-20-2006 11:49 AM

We just got back from vacation in southwest Wisconsin. Everyone complained about the heat in the 90s. I didn't think it was bad. Ron can vouch for that I am sure. It is still stupid hot here.

Had a few thunderstorms back there so that was a treat. Jenny told me she never thought she would be cold on the 4th of July watching fireworks as the nights were still cool. We had a good time.

Ron61 07-20-2006 11:53 AM

Brent,

Welcome back. We have missed you. Glad that your vacation went well and it wasn't so hot. It got clear down into the low 80s here last night. Almost had to put on a jacket this morning.

Ron ;)
