Yep ran into that over qualified thing myself already once.

Not many people like their Chili or Salsa as hot as I do. I started out just trying to eat the hottest stuff to prove my manliness (18-22). After that I just got used to it and started to enjoy it. The last year I haven't had much in the way of hot food, so I need to bring my tolerance back up. I think I may make a batch of Salsa this weekend. I use about 2 jalepenos, 1 poblano, and 1-2 habenero peppers per pt jar of salsa.

Well I can't say it is cool here. The paper yesterday said that this August was the hottest one on record along with all of the fires and smoke also the worst. And they seem to think September may not be as hot as usual, but that we may also have another dry Winter.

I received an e-mail from my cousin in Arkansas and they had received over 7" of rain the past two days. Fred, you may take note of that when you get ready for your trip through the Ozarks.

Yea, The news media here said some places in Arkansas will get 16-20" of rain from the remnants of the hurricane.

It looks like there is another one headed in next week.

Tru,

The problen isn't over education. The problem is no one wants to pay you what your worth because of it. Believe me they want the expetice, they just want it for free. It seems to be the American way these days as all the jobs that possibly can be sent to other countries is being sent there.

Everyone can't be a plumber.

Well, at least CC is back up and running.

Myself, Fred and Ron are definitely over-qualified for our "retirement" job. That is why we take a few naps now and then. Lack of sleep makes you stupid.

Temp all the way up to 87°F. Oh the oppressive heat! Supposed to be 80 tomorrow and 72°F Saturday.

Spent two hours sanding Turtle yesterday. Then I went for a ride thru

Anything to keep, those Ho's off the street and on top of your TV where they belong.

Just picked up a can of UV resistant clear spar varnish. But I got to do a better job on sanding Turtle. My air sanders are too fast for Turtle's complexion. Maybe its time I go buy a small Dremel tool.

It's now over 90°F, so my trip to the Irish Bakery, Fruit Center, Carmine's Deli and paint store was terminated by turning on the AC in my bedroom. Boy, I bet its been at least 3 or 4 weeks without the need for 4 AC.

Too hot to cook - guess its microwave time .... hmmmmm ... leftover chop suey, stuffed red pepper or chili for dinner. Too hard to decide, so I guess its a little of each. OK, I will steam some broccoli and corn on the stove ... it ain't as hot as Ron's back yard.

During my ride last night I found a nice "little" house.

Its ocean front property ... just the street, 15 feet of grass and a cement seawall between the front door and Quincy Bay.

The house is 12 ft wide and 40 feet long, for a grand total of 480 sq ft of living space. All this splendor situated on a huge 1900 sq ft lot. Its assessed for only $290K.

But the property value must be wrong because there is a famous race car driver living next door.

Warren,
If the air sander is running too fast, try turning down the air pressure at the regulator. That should slow it down as much as needed to not burn turtles little shell.

I get the feeling that guy likes Nascar and is a Jeff Gordon fan. I don't know what it is, but every once in a while I get these premonitions and I am usually right on when they happen. Just like the other day I went outside and it was really windy and clouds were moving in fast and it was getting dark fast. I don't know what it was, but I just knew it was going to rain that night and what do you know I wake up in the morning and it is all wet outside. I think I am like a part time psychic or something.

We all think you are a part time something. What that something is, we have no idea. Hopefully its not contagious.

Saturday there is a big car show at Tasca Ford in RI, and a big gathering of Cobras for breakfast south of Boston and a ride down by the Cape. Weather report on the news just said there will be 2 to 6" of rain on Saturday. Supposed to rain on Sunday too.

Nice speech by McCain tonight.

Steve - all of the air tools are rotary. I really need a oscillating detail sander to get into the crannies. I have a 1/4 sheet palm sander, but that is just for flat surfaces. Did a search on-line and found what should do the job. A Skil Model 7300-01 sander ... and its only $40 at Sears, but out of stock. Will make a few calls to see if its in stock at some local stores tomorrow. May have to buy it on-line, but I like to look at tools first before I buy them ... there is a lot of junk tools out there.

Warren,

I like the Craftsman tools and most of mine are that. I have a dremel and it is really a great tool. Variable speed from almost nothing to I forget what, but I use it for sanding in hard to get to spots with the small disks and also to cut pipe and steel fence posts.

Nice house on a big lot. By the way, is the picture of the SUV with the QUINCY plate your new daily driver?

How can you put a picture of a clone of Jeff Gordon's car in this thread. That should be in the joke thread.

Ron

Virtually all of my hand tools are Craftsman. I looked at the Dremel stuff, but this looks really nice for detail sanding, and the price is right. None of the local Sears stores have it in stock.

No. But I wonder who has that personalized plate.

That does look as if it would be the thing for what you are doing. Hope that you can find one in stock as I too like to look at the tools before I buy them. Since Sears sold to K-Mart our Sears store has turned into a 2nd rate store except for the tool section.

GMW.

Have the Sears close to you order one from another store. It should get there in one day. I have ordered tools from Sears before and they always come back fast.

My roll away tool box came from Sears about twenty years ago. It still looks like new. They don't make the same model anymore but one similar. I am glad I got the older version.

This looks like the kind of car you want to see on the freeway while in your Cobra.

Even better if he is using the car while on a date. With the amount of stickers on that cheby, he or she would have to believe it was a "real race car".

So the cobra rolls up next to it and you glance over like, "yeah...right."

Yup, he really must be a NASCAR fan.

If I'm not mistaken, I think the #24 Chebby was a limited production vehicle, straight from the factory, and all of the stickers is just one big vinyl overlay per panel. Did you notice the Goodyear NASCAR tires?

Warren,

I am not so sure that they did make a # 24 Chevie from the factory with the overlay. Back a few years ago they did make a Dale Earnheart Special that didn't have all the decals and junk but had some changes on the dash and such from a regular car. In fact, one of the car magazines ran a piece in it with the stock car and the Earnheart race car listed side by side as so many people were buying that special model and then complaining that it wouldn't run 190 MPH. I couldn't believe that people could be dumb enough to buy one and think it was the same as the one he raced. I even knew a man here that bought one and was all upset that it didn't have the 800+ horse motor. If it had came just like the race car, I would have loved to see him get it past smog and try to drive it in town.

We built Earnheart clusters, but I think there were more. I guess they did a whole series for the NASCAR names.

Tru,

If those Earnheart Clusters made the car go faster, could you build me one for my Comet?
