Sorry to hear about your wife's ankles Joe. Hope she gets better soon.

I have meat in the freezer! The butcher did a great job and we finshed the last of it last night.

Snowing again. I think it is going to accumulate slowly over the next four months and in the end be several feet deep.

How are you all doing? Warren, congrats on getting to 6900. You should be up to Ron's post couint in no time. Of course, we lots 1000 to 1200 posts to system challenges, but that's in the past.

GOOD MORNING!!!

:D :D

It must be about -6 outside right now.

My Oregon Weather Station must be messed up with this friged weather. It says 48.7

Joe Wicked 11-19-2008 05:23 AM

The funny part is yes, it is the same ankle. Mine is on the outside and hers is on the inside. This is her first surgery on it, she hurt it while exercising trying to loose weight. She somehow stretched the inner tendon out and it would not heal back up. They think she hurt it a long time ago and it was just severely agitated by the exercise and that is why it wouldn't heal, it is an old injury. I believe it as she refuses to go to see a doctor until the pain is no longer bearable and often is worse off because of it. Another reason they think it is old is the ankle had shifted positions and would not realign. They ended up removing the overstretched tendon, taking one from her big toe, replacing the one in the ankle, breaking/cutting the ankle joint, resetting it, and putting 2 screws to hold it. She says she can feel the 2 screws and that is where the pain is the most acute.

Thanks for the well wishes all. I told her that is what she gets for being upset that I was the center of attention when I was hurt. :D.
Of course I only said that because she can't get out of bed and whoop me.

392cobra 11-19-2008 05:27 AM

OUCH !!!

I knew excercise wasn't all it's cranked up to be.

trularin 11-19-2008 05:34 AM

I am glad I got the info on that exercising stuff before I decided to try it.

So, Joe, is your wife completely confined to the bed? This should be rich.

How long did they give her to rest before she could go back to that exercising stuff?

Ron61 11-19-2008 05:39 AM

:D

Anyone notice how Warren vanished when the talk about exercising started? I think he runs about 50 feet a day from bed to the refrigerator.

Ron

Joe Wicked 11-19-2008 05:52 AM

Not really confined to the bed, but it is hard for her to move without help. She cannot put any weight on it at all and the pain meds make her a little loopy when they kick in, so I am helping her today and staying home from work.

GMW
I also woke up about 4 AM. I have no idea why but for the life of me I could not go back to sleep. Finally about 6:30 I fell alseep again. This is totally off for me as I am usually up at 5:00 AM everyday and thinking about my 'to do" list for the day. What gives?

Joe,
Sorry to hear you both have ankle problems. We are so lucky so far that we do not have those problems. Take it easy for awhile.

Ron

Exercise? Run? Is that anything like work?
The downstairs refrigerator may be about 30 feet away, but I do have one of those small compact refridge in my bedroom, to keep a few sodas, water bottle and some fruit.

I've been downstairs twice so far today and only had one nap from 9:30 to 11AM.

Well, think I'll order some parts for the Cobra cuz it ain't going to be driven in this weather. Its a good thing that none of my body parts are made of brass cuz its still only 31°F outside.

392cobra 11-19-2008 02:12 PM

I have to fess up that I let my Retirement Mentors,Ron & Warren, down today.:(

As I stated earlier,I woke up at 4 am this morning for no good reason what so ever.%/
At 10:30 am I followed the routine I had been taught by my mentors and took a much needed nap.

I woke up at 1:30 pm ! Three hours later !
I figured that I could just excuse it by saying I combined the morning nap with the afternoon nap. I think I remember reading that in their manual.:)

The problem is I slept right thru lunch, that is not cool.
I'll try to do better.

wtm442 11-19-2008 05:21 PM

Naps take precedent over all meals. You cannot eat while sleeping ... ask me how I know.

The best part about lunch is that you can have it anywhere between 10:30 AM and 3:30 PM. Its a law. :p

wtm442 11-20-2008 08:34 AM

The only problem with Italian food is that 5 or 6 days later you're hungry again. :p:p:p

Ron61 11-20-2008 08:38 AM

Fred,

It took Warren and I years to perfect our nap and eat schedule as we leave out any time for WORK and believe me when you have all of those hours to arrange it takes practice. I will have my morning nap a little later and then get up and rest for a while before the afternoon nap.

Ron :p

trularin 11-20-2008 09:49 AM

Fred, it is called BRUNCH!!!

Tell them you are not missing anything.

:D :D :D

Ron61 11-20-2008 09:54 AM

Tru,

How is your weather? We are having a miserable day. It was 43 this morning and there is a heavy and very wet fog. No rain, but this fog is so wet you get soaked in a few minutes if you stay outside. Almost time for my morning nap thank goodness.

Ron :p

wtm442 11-20-2008 01:23 PM

All the way up to 33°F here.

Why is it that when I go to Sears to buy a $60 item ... I always spend over $250.00 ???????

Fred - never eat anything you cannot lift. :MECOOL: :MECOOL: :MECOOL:
