Joe, Did you see your shadow today? Eight more weeks of pain and sorrow. Suggest you sleep in a coffin, so no light can get in.
Tell your wife to take it easy and get better soon.
Just got back from a couple of errands. Boy, am I glad I do not have an outside job during the winter. Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr, its coooooooold outside.

Joe,
I am glad things are looking up for you. I am certainly hoping that this year will far exceed the gloom and doom media articles.
Warren,
Out in the cold. You must have had to go to the dentist or something to get you out of bed in that weather. Did you drive or take the sleigh?

If that was it I guess we will never know. He will blame it on Turtle or something else. It must be bad if they are both not talking about it.

Damn, last night I was coughing so much that I hit a point I lost my voice. Finally I took some Nyquil and went to bed. I feel much better this morning. Sucks that I can't completely rest with having to help my wife, but like I said I feel better today. Her Doctor appoint didn't go as well as we thought it would. She is out of the cast, and in a walking boot, but they said do not walk on it yet. We have to go back the day before we leave to go to her Son's Boot Camp Graduation. We are hoping that they let her start to walk on it by then.

Joe,
Sorry to hear about things not going as well as you had hoped. I use Nyquil for my sore throats. I hope your wife will soon be able to start walking on her foot. But don't push it and maybe make it worse, I speak from experience in that matter.
I thought it had snowed here last night when I looked out as everything was white, but it is just ice all over the ground and fences. Completely clear right now and the sun is just starting to come up over the mountains. High today is supposed to be 51. The forecast said we have a very cold high pressure that is just setting here and may not move until near the middle of the month. Just what we need. A Few Weeks of dry, very cold weather.

I have had 2 reconstructive surgeries on my ankle. The first one was by the Navy where the doctors actually pushed me too fast to get me back on active duty, and made it worse. The 2nd one I was out of work for 8 weeks. I fully understand the need to take it slow.

Well I just saw where Frommers listed Lassen Volcano National Park as one of the top 12 places in the world to visit in 2009. Strange, as I like it up there but have never considered it as a world class place to visit.

Stiches were from an overly agressive hickey. But they were worth it.

If you have Vick's Vapor Rub --- rub it into your feet then put on a pair of socks.....the cough will go away and you'll sleep withing 15 min. give or take...

Warren, how long did it take to recover from those burns?
I had heard that same advice about Vics. Great stuff.

Fred,
Warren thinks the Hickey from BB was worth it. Maybe time to send her for another visit.

BB says she needs to heal too and rest up after that last visit. She doesn't remember seeing Warren that "frisky" before.
Must be all the snow.

Fred,
This certainly isn't the typical Texas Jail that we keep reading about. I hope.

I'm surprised. I've ridden through Montague a few times.
It has the old type town square, very old town by Texas standards.A lot of the original building.
60 inmates,I never saw 60 people total !
With the Rangers involved, there will be some a$$ kicking and name takin'.

Well, today is the day Josh has been working towards for the last year !!!
We will caravan out the Texas Tech (Lubbock) shortly to move him into his dorm.
To be honest,I'm sad and happy all at the same time.
Not too sure how I'll be when I say good bye and drive back to Dallas tomorrow.
I do know I'm awfully proud.

Fred,
This is a big day in his life as you well know. He will feel for the first time that he is actually free and on his own and it will be a little frightening at first. But once he starts to get to know the other students and gets involved in things, he will have some of the best times of his life. And it isn't like he is so far away that you can't go see him from time to time. Have a great time on the trip and you should be proud.
There will be the monthly checks to deliver.
Ron
